It was such a boring ride to school, moving to a new room was no big deal cause I have a little load on me, I was sitting on my freshly made bed when my door opened revealing a girl which looked undoubtedly Asian probably Chinese, Japanese or maybe Korean, I really can't tell the difference beside her stood a guy which you would know is her brother who was assisting her to carry her stuff.
She looked at me giving a small smile

" I guess you're my roommate "

"Yes, am Lisa and you"

" ooh am Karen"

" I guess your freshman "

" Yeah, you?"

"Second year, "

"Am quite happy am not stuck with a fellow freshman" she says with a grin as she turns hastily to her brother

"Um this is my brother, Charlie "

"I think I guessed right then, you two look pretty much alike"

"Yeah people say that a lot," he says smiling at me.

We were interrupted by someone who continued screaming my name across the hall like a banshee, till she made a noisy entrance into my room, we all stared at her utterly shocked while she smiled ear to ear like a child awarded with a bowl full of candy, I was not surprised to know the cause of the tantrum is my close friend  Natalie.

"There you are," she said loudly not minding my new roommate and brother when she took notice of the environment she quietly closed the door and smiled as nothing happened.

"Dang!! It seems like I interrupted something" clearly stating the obvious

"Obviously banshee"

"Ooh there you are her Royal fish head, do you know how long I have been searching and waiting for  you"

" you've found me haven't you "

"Why do you sound like you don't miss me," she said pouting

"Obviously I didn't miss you I was so happy during the break not having to hear am hungry every second"

"But you know you eat a lot more than me," she said, it's true I eat a lot but they seem to end up down the toilet

Natalie turns to my roommate smiling at her
"Hello sorry about my first impression though Lisa always make me look bad you know"

"Ooh I don't mind I like your hair by the way"

Natalie always wears her hair straight but she made them wavy which complements her beautiful tanned skin.

"Lisa you said my hair will look bad"

"I guess, I was jealous that i didn't want you looking way prettier than me" i said staring at the floor

"Aww you look stupid saying that you know right" she said laughing

 "ooh before I forget I wanted to go shopping for the things I literally forgot and maybe get something to fill my stomach you see she's flat and needs to be round," Nat said

"So when are we going"

"Tomorrow"

"And you're talking about filling your stomach now"

"Yeah wait how is Cheryl?" Nat asked

"She's good and she got a boyfriend now"

"Really"

"Yeah and she's so into him"

"I guessed so it seems you're the last also I can't wait to meet him you know, I'd be getting you by 6:30pm tomorrow prepare before I get here"

"We would see who would wait"
It's funny how I didn't notice Charlie leaving I turn to see Karen laying on her already made bed

" I guess my friend and I chased your brother huh"

" No his quite happy I got someone nice as a roommate unlike him"

"Aww I feel proud of myself"

"Do you mind showing me around"

"Cool I'll take you to my cousin she's amazing"

"Okay...... So she schools here too"

"Yeah although she stays in a different hostel do you mind going?"

" No problem that's what I wanted "

It was a short walk to my cousin's hostel when I caught Karen's eye staring hard like she was trying to process if she knew the guy which was relaxing on what seems to be his black mustang, I must admit he is pretty hot, all tanned as his perfect dark brown hair played on his forehead ,his perfect small smile could draw any wandering eyes down to his feet as he stared at his phone, you would know he hits the gym just by looking at his biceps which would tease any lost soul.

"I think that's... Omg Alex!!" Karen says interrupting my feeding eyes

'' You know him"

"Yeah, he attended the same high school as I, He is my friend and also my senior, do you mind if we meet him?"

"No problem"

She walked faster till his eyes caught her

"Wait Karen is this you?!" he says with surprise and a wide grin

"Obviously Alex come give me a hug"

They were deep in their conversation obviously talking about whatever friends from the same school talk about till his eyes moved to mine
"So is she with you?" he asks with a tempting smirk 

"Yes this is my roommate Lisa''

"Am Alex, you're a freshman too?"

"Nope second year"

"Then why haven't I seen you around?"

"How can you ask that? this is New York University and maybe fate too"

"Yeah, she had to make us wait for Karen then"

"You never change don't you"Karen says with a smile

" I'll never, where you girls going?, you know I could drop you two"

"No don't worry we're almost there" I say, my patience wearing thin

"Are you scared of me?"

"First of I don't see anything that'll make me scared of you yet"

"Ooh that hurt," he says with a smirk that says am enjoying this

"Alex don't worry if Lisa says where close then we are"

"Trusting her already"

"What do you mean" I say feeling my temper rise like bile in my throat

"I mean get in the car," he says still smirking

" You know what I'll be leaving maybe, I can take you to my cousin later, "I say turning to leave

"Seems like someone has some temper, Karen you better catch up with lizard here before she blows up " Karen hits Alex on his arm

"Don't be rude to my roommate you better apologize"

"Let's leave the apology for when she's ready to accept it, so what's your room number so I can drop by sometime"

"B18" Karen says leaving Alex while he smiled at me waving us goodbye

"Am sorry about that, he is always like that"

"Are you serious his such a jerk, he had the audacity to call me a lizard"

"Yours is nice, I remember him calling his best friend Olivia an orangutan"

"What"

"Yeah that's Alex for you"
