I welcomed the intoxicating aroma of freshly made coffee from my favourite coffee shop, I was glad visiting with Alex by side, things felt a little different since he apologized, I can't tell if it was me over thinking his actions towards me either way I felt okay with whatever was going on between us.

    Mrs. Macy welcomed us with her comforting smile, I felt the need to discuss the recent happenings with her but with the unending school work I doubt I'd be able to have a proper chat with her.

     While the formal questions had been answered I was drawn to a familiar figure sitting at the far end of the coffee shop.

 All colours drained from my face as I recognized the figure to be no one but Chase, I quickly turned back facing the counter while trying to avoid him noticing me. I took our drinks to the other far end of the shop as Alex trailed me 

My mind raced to the possible dramatic action that may happen if I was seen by Chase.

I met Alex curious eyes staring deeply into mine, pulling me back to reality.

"Are you okay?" He asked 

"Yeah, sure"

"You don't look it to me" he says observing my every move

"Everything's okay"

"I know when things are clearly okay with you, so drop the act, is someone bothering you or is it private"

"Yeah" I said in a mere whisper I took a peek at Chase just to make sure he gets no sight of me.

Alex turned around too, trying to get hold of what was causing my divided attention, thankfully Chase hasn't spotted me yet. I felt the need to leave but that would be to much so I silently wished Chase would leave.

"Would you like to leave?"

"Not really, and when did you turn caring?"

"Probably never"

"Then why asking about how I feel"

"Don't want to be charged for Animal abuse"

"Fool" 

We spent the few minutes coming at each other that seems to be our thing since we enjoyed picking on each other. Till we were interrupted by the ringing of his phone . He excused himself out of the coffee shop, I sat wondering how we had come to this but another thing that creeped my mind was the fact he got too many calls that was unhealthy for a basic living.

I was lost in thought I didn't notice when Chase occupied the seat.

"Missed me?" He asked with a short smile

"Yeah, I did" I said sarcastically 

He laughed at me clearly mocking me

"No much change, I see" he said

"You see most people tend to move on with people better than their ex, but it seems it's the other way round when it comes to you"

"I guess that's a good thing don't you?"I said with a sweet smile

"Maybe, but I'd give you a bonus tip, cause I care, you see lover boy over there may not be that serous about you or possibly you don't really know anything about him"

"First off, I don't think I'd be needing your worthless advice and disclaimer I don't make a mistake twice so feel free to evacuate the seat for the rightful owner"

Alex seemed confused at the state I was in since I picked my bag dashing out leaving both of them back at the cafe.

I stood by Alex's car as he hurried out to catch up with me.

"What happened in there" Alex asked clearly lost.

"Can we leave first?" I said 

"Yeah till you explain what the heck happened in there"

He knew I wasn't in the mood to give him any answer as I stated off to the opposite direction, I was glad he didn't bring up anything concerning what had happened. We drove in silence as I pondered on all Chase had said, I knew I can't believe a word from him, I tried convincing myself all he had said was a lie even if I had already started having a double take on Alex, I couldn't make Chase control me although he once had the power he knew my soft spot and he did tka good advantage of it.

Dark eyes scanned my face showing concern as I took notice of our enviroment.

"When did we arrive?"

"Few minutes ago"

"Thanks... for the ride"

"Look, I can't tell whatever that guy had said yo you but if you need anyone to talk to or anything else, don't hesitate to call"

"Yeah, thanks for the offer but...."

The loud ringing of his phone interrupted my speech as he quickly picked it from the cockpit, what's with someone always interrupting our conversation or was it about what Chase discussed with me. I feared there could be an atom of truth in his words.

I feel worried about about Alex having someone else except me, I mean it feels like we've know for long and I love having him around.

It's hard to get the full conversation since all I could get off his conversation was just Yes and none of your business with a flat voice and an unreadable facial expression.

"I've got to go now, I'll call you later"

"Really?, That's it and you'd just zoom off to nowhere without informing me" that wasn't suppose to come off that way as I realized I just blurted out the last thing I shouldn't say 

He stared at me me undoubtedly confused.

"I think you need to go chill off, if you don't mind"

"Yeah, that's exactly what I'm going to be doing" I said as I angrily left his car.

I hate it when I blow up especially for some common reason. I imagined Chase laughing hard at me like he had succeed in manipulating me. I felt the need to speak to someone as I called the one voice o wished to hear.

"Hey Liz, what's good?"

"Probably nothing"

"What happened?"

I narrated the whole ordeal to Nat hoping to hear the exact opposite of her reply

"Truthfully, Alex is more of a booty call kinda guy, so he may have a hint of truth, not judging though"

"Really, what should I do?"

"Can't say it's your choice to decide"

"I'd like to find out where he runs off to each time someone calls"

"Be my guest, why don't we find out"

"Really, How?"

"I'd explain when I get to your place"

I can't remember when I got so involved in Alex's life, I rushed to join Nat in her car, I didn't really get how we'd find out about his whereabouts till Nat pulled up his location.

I turned confused at Nat.

"Hey, hold Alex responsible for leaving his location on" She says with a light smile as she holds her hands up.

"Are you sure about this?" Nat asked

"Yeah" I say giving off a heavy sigh
