"What do you mean by that?" I panicked

"Calm down, remember I used "what if", doesn't mean I don't have my wallet" Alex said

"Then do you have your wallet with you?"

"Nope" he says smiling

"Perfect"

"But..."

"But what?" I asked frantically, it's funny I had money worth the bill but the fact Mr Algae supposedly forgot to bring his wallet got me pissed, I mean what if I also forgot my wallet...

"I think it's in the car" he says with a smirk

"So?"

"I could get it"

"No need, I don't trust you"

"Wow, did you say that to hurt me cause it didn't work" he said with a smile as his legs tugged mine beneath the table causing me to use my other leg to step on his.

"Hey, what was that for?" He asked while the waiter served us our drinks as I paid the bills.

I took a sip of my drink as I absorbed the sweetness of the cool drink finally taking full view of the area, I refused to take a look at the algae in front of me not willing to entangle myself in an awkward situation.

"Are you felling uncomfortable again?" this time I laughed at his almost true question

"Are you really asking me that or do I need to filter my ears, cause you should be the one feeling uncomfortable"

"For what?" He asks leaning forward, causing me to laugh as I tried to cover up the fact I was feeling terribly shy

"I don't know" I say as I stared back trying to hide my smile, we were distracted by the ringing of his phone, I managed to steal a glance at his phone which the caller read Aunt D, I recognized it to be the same number that called the last time we were together, he reluctantly snatched his phone from the table, it was clear he didn't want to respond to the call, which he later did, while he was still on the call I took a long sip from my drink as I noticed he wasn't really comfortable talking to who I assumed to be his aunt.

"What do you mean by his not okay" Alex said in an annoyed tone causing me to feel bothered.

Immediately after the call it was clear he was pissed, I felt the need to hide away from him. His eyes displayed anger and a hint of worry, I sat quietly sipping from my drink like an innocent child that was oblivious of her surrounding.

"I need to leave" Alex said as he jolted off his chair, I quickly followed him trying to cover up the space between us, he came to a halt by his car which caused me to stop too.

"Why are you following me?"

"I thought we were leaving"

He face palmed himself saying "I clearly remembered saying I need to leave"

"Does that mean you're leaving me here?"

He gave me a blank look

"Wait, how am I going to get back?" I asked

"You can call an Uber or someone?"

"Really are you listening to yourself right now?"

"You're wasting my time" he said

"You've got to be kidding me, I didn't plan to go out tonight but I had too because you asked me"

"I can't deal with this right now, later I'll call you"

"What!..." I didn't get to finish my statement when he zoomed off, looking around unfamiliar faces, I was stuck not knowing what situation I had myself in, I regretted leaving with Alex but regret wouldn't get me out of this situation.

I pulled out my phone to call Nat, only to find out I had three missed calls from no one but Hadrian, I didn't feel the need to return his call, but I drowned the thought as I called him.

"Hey"

"Lisa, thank goodness you called, I thought you were avoiding me"

I didn't respond, not knowing what to say

"I tried calling yesterday but I.."

"Wait, first of I want to say, am not in the right place to discuss anything serious"

"Where are you?"

"I don't really know, I'll ask"

"You know what just turn on your location and stay still, I'll come get you now" he said trying to calm me, I could hear him leaving his bed which made me let out a sigh of relief.

"Thanks"

"I won't be long, I'll call you when I get there"

"No problem" I say as I dismissed the call. I turned on my location as I moved back and forth, not long Hadrian was parked close to me.

I sank into the cool leather seat, as he drove slowly to my place.

"Are you okay?" Hadrian asked

"Yes" I say rubbing my hands as I stared out the window

"I know you don't feel comfortable around me" Hadrian said

"I did what I did and I can't take that back" He continued

"Seriously, what happened to I'm in a relationship?" I said

"I know that's your problem, but I'm the one who's supposed to be worried not you"

"I don't want to be the cause of any girl's headache in any relationship"

"You don't need to bother about anyone, I can deal with my issues"

"And I don't want to be involved in anyone's relationship"

"You know..." He says

"Just forget it" I said staring out the window, I couldn't bring myself to look at the same guy who just helped me, same as him as he repeatedly tapped on his steering wheel with his index finger looking out his side window occasionally.

Thankfully the journey came to an abrupt end, I quickly
opened the door to leave when Hadrian spoke...

"You know what, I'm sorry"

I turned to look at a messed up Hadrian, who continuously ran his hand through his hair in a frustrating way.

"Look, I'm sorry if I came out to you in a wrong way, but I don't want you bothering about what my girlfriend would think, but truth is I like you, in a friendly manner so I don't want you bothering yourself, I hope you do understand me" he said in a silent voice at the end like he was pleading with me

"Okay" I say as I left walking briskly to my room.
