Christmas Eve: 3 years after the Events with the Beach/Surprise

Giyu's POV

So it's been 3 long years and a lot of things have happened to me and my friends, a lot of good things.

So Iako is almost 12 years old now and of course the kids grew up a lot.

Sekiro and Umi were now around 7 or 8 with Inoue also being their same age.

Kōhai was a little younger around 5 or 6 but yeah they all grew up now.

And yes we now have Inoue's little brother and Sabito decided to name him Yukira and he's 3 now.

But there's more to that actually, not just the kids growing up.

So Gyomei and Kyotoki eventually tied the knot and are almost 2 years into their marriage.

Uzui, Suma, Hinatsuru and Makio are expecting with all of the girls carrying probably twins or one each.

The Teens started dating too, Nezuko and Zenitsu being first to admit with Aoi and Inosuke following before Tanjiro admitted to Kanao.

Genya is already helping Sanemi and the kid still doesn't want to have any relationships whatsoever because he wants to help with taking care of his Family and his nephews and nieces like a good uncle.

Iguro and Mitsuri opened a diner and their business is booming by quite a lot now.

Muichiro is babysitting his cousins from his Uncle Yoriichi, with him also helping with Gyomei in the Daycare.

Sanemi isn't that much of a cussing machine anymore but he still does it and Kanae still keeps his mouth under control.

And of course Douma and Shinobu are still living happily with Umi by their side.

I was glad for all of them, they were now enjoying their lives as I were doing right now.

That's because 3 years ago and almost a whole decade of not facing any of my relatives, I finally had the courage with the help of my sister, Tsutako.

It was a surprise for me, seeing her so much like mom and to my utter most shock married at with 2 kids.

Well not exactly 2 yet because she was still carrying little Komi when they met me at the beach with my brother-in-law Kaito.

To introduce him let's just say he was as normal I was with him having black hair, timid face, same build as me but probably 3 cm taller and the only defining characteristic of him is his emerald green eyes.

I didn't like him at first, probably an instinct from me being Nee-chan's brother but I eventually liked him.

He was a good father to Makato and Komi which is really a good thing for me.

And here I am now with everyone I've known for the biggest Christmas we ever had yet.

And I'm really happy that everyone is happy and fine, seems like this life was the best one I could live yet.

Well I hope so since it's still uncertain.

Narrator's POV

So as Giyu introduced us with, here we are at the Tomioka Household with Tsutako and Giyu readying everything they needed as Kaito looked over Makato and Komi.

The two siblings having a casual conversation about the event which will start in just a few hours now.

And since it's been already a while and we still haven't known the actually identity/names of their parents well let me tell you.

Haru Tomioka, their father is an engineer and an OFW that often traveled for his work since the two were young but now that he retired he just owned a small shop selling pendants.

Yuriko Tomioka, their mother is a doctor, a pediatrician to be exact and since now is still one but she plans on stopping when she's around 60 which is already near since both her and her husband are already 57.

Both are hardworking, black haired, blue eyed and pretty much identical as their kids, more or less atleast.

Yuriko was actually the Tomioka in the relationship, by that I meant Haru was the one that was married to a Tomioka because his name is actually Haru Tachibana.

And yes if you want your wife's family name as your last name you can legally change it to that and yes getting married doesn't mean that the wife is mandatorily gonna have the husband's last name and that's a real choice like the other one (Not a Lot of People know this but you actually can do this 🤔).

And for a Tomioka, Yuriko is real optimistic, like really optimistic.

She's such a cheerful woman and weirdly enough Tsutako also inherited this, Giyu on the other hand? Not so much.

Haru is surprisingly the same, yet Giyu was so weirdly not like them, well technically he does remember every life he'd ever live through so that's pretty much the answer to his unyielding amount of grief and suffering.

And yes the Tomioka bloodline wasn't that grumpy or emotionless but they had a lot of those in the Family.

Anyways the two actually went out first to get some things since they are also going to this huge festive feast with the close friends and already considered family of them.

But first let me tell you their reactions when they found out that their baby boy Giyu was alive and well, let me tell you it was a sight to behold my dudes and dudettes.

Haru and Yuriko cried for hours and that's not me even exaggerating shit my guys and gals, cause they literally almost flooded the house with the sheer amount of tears they shed, actually that's an exaggeration but they could've filled a pint of those.

Tsutako actually called them over the phone or rather video calling them to report that he was indeed alive and surprisingly smiling.

By the latter I meant that because they didn't see his smile for such a long time so they were glad and just balling their eyes out.

The heartstring tingling moment was such an emotional wreck for the others that a lot of them cried, well mostly Giyu, Tsutako, Uzui and his Wives, Makomo, Mitsuri, Gyomei and Shinobu but not much on the others..... Probably since you know Tanjiro and Zenitsu also probably Kanao and Nezuko actually probably even Aoi or Inosuke idk I forgot wahahah.

But what I didn't forget was the look on Sanemi's face since he looked so ugly trying to force himself not to cry so that he could just look cool, real good shit.

But yeah they all did shed tears, happy ones to the point where Douma was also crying like an idiot, eyes bloodshot and just mucus dripping out of his nasal cavity like a baby who bumped his head.

And if you're wondering how they reacted with Iako being Giyu's adopted kid welllll let's just say they passed out including Tsutako.

Real fun times, Really fun times.

And here we are with everyone waiting for the Tomiokas as they prepared a lot of things.

It was a sure to be a fun time but the fun doesn't start unless the Tomiokas arrived so they had what I like to call a gaming tournament.

Yeah if you're wondering where they actually are well they're in the Kochou household.

Kuruo and Satsuki were watching over the kids with a few of the teens helping them as the younger adults were doing the work whilst waiting for the said Tomiokas.

Kanae, Shinobu, Makio, Sumi, Hinatsuru, and Mitsuri were at the kitchen finishing the remaining dishes.

The men/guys were resting/playing videogames after carrying the extra chairs, tables and the ingredients they used for cooking.

So that's why I've said tournament since they were bored and the women insisted to cook since they did already do a lot of things.

So the match was easy, simple Mario Kart with Sanemi leading as Bowser, Iguro with his Yoshi and Gyomei slowly catching up with the two as Mario.

Muichiro was stuck in a turn as he didn't know the revers the button, Inosuke screamed as he was thrown with a red shell, Tanjiro was just there to make sure that they wouldn't kill each other.

And if yar wondering where Sabito, Makomo and the kids are wellllllll they're gonna be picked up by Giyu.

Yeah Tsutako and the others are going first cause Giyu is gonna do something first and it's pretty important.

So here we are back at The Tomioka household with Kaito already starting the car as Giyu started his.

"So what's with the detour Giyu? I know you're picking Sabito, Makomo and the kids but aren't they like just an hour away from here?" Kaito asked his brother-in-law, curious with the reasoning of the semi-long haired man.

"I'm just gonna run an errand I forgot, please look over them for me brother" he replied, giving a small smile.

Kaito being given such an important mission agreed to it and patting his shoulders in assurance.

"I promise that I will not let you down Giyu! I give you my word" he answered, to which Giyu nodded and went on his way driving to the setting sun.

Unknown Location: 7:49 PM

Giyu's POV

It's been so long since I came back here, almost a century to be exact.

It's still pretty much the same, nothing changed at all but I guess the fauna did overgrew and added a bit more to the place.

Numerous things have brittled down and cracked without any proper maintenance for years, but the memories still lingered to me.

I strolled for a few minutes, remembering a few memories as I walked by.

I was going into a specific place that is just so meaningful to my existence that I can't help myself but feel something so strong to it.

God knows how long it's been for me just longing but here I am now, face to face with the very grave of the one my heart desired.

The grave of Shinobu Kochou, the Insect Pillar and someone who I've cared about for decades.

I knelt down, clearing the residue around her gravestone as I stared at the thing.

"I know you can't hear me and all but your very name and reincarnated self feeds my sleepless nights, slowly etching out my fears and regrets into a singular reason on why I still try to live....... I'm sorry for spouting such infront of you but I can't control myself........ I just can't......" I spoke to myself, looking at her burial ground as I let out everything that I've been holding back for so long.

Panting for a second after speaking an insurmountable amount of words.

"I'm sorry....... For being feeble and puny....... But I guess it's farewell for now....." I ended the self made conversation, leaving her once more to face the realization that I could never relive any of those memories again.

Guess I'll be going now but I promise that I will definitely go back here.

Everyone was here now, Giyu with Sabito, Makomo and of course the kids but for some reason Giyu was missing.

Sabito was sure that he saw him around the table a second ago but the others didn't even notice him.

Worried, everyone of the adults and the grandparents would go search for him, almost finding him for 10 minutes and missing the whole countdown to Christmas but to their surprise and relief they find him just sitting in the small botanical garden the Kochou family had.

It was an amazing sight to see, the rarely seen smiling man was smiling as in his index finger was a purple butterfly sitting calmly.

The night ended with them asking why he suddenly disappeared in the middle of the night without anyone of them knowing.

Giyu unsure whether or not he should tell the real reason just stated that he was lost in thought and guessed that his body unconsciously walked to the garden with him not knowing.

But in reality he was still not forgetting his self made conversation a while ago and it's been boggling him till this day...........

God knows what happened but I guess we'll know next time......
