Chapter 6
Sophie POV:
"What was that?" A tear dropped from his eye and he repeated himself. "I'm sorry." He said it much clearer, and I laughed. But my laugh sounded sarcastic. "It's gonna take a lot more for me to forgive you, if I decide to give you a chance. But if you want one, you have to give me some space." His breathing turned heavier, and his head faced the ground.
"I understand..." He muttered. I turned to walk away, but stopped. There was something I had to say. Something that would protect me from a bunch of hurt. Even though it was something that really hurts to say. "I don't ever want to see you again..." I sputtered out, not facing him. I ran off, but slow enough to catch some words he mumbled. "I'm gonna get you back... Even if it's the last thing I do."

Keefe POV:
Her words were like a million knifes plunging themselves into my heart over and over again. To be honest, I did actually expect her to forgive me on the spot, so her words definitely surprised me. Now, I lie under my covers on my bed, plotting ways to get back in her good books.
I somehow managed to get an apartment next to the local college, passing as a college student. I don't look anything like a college student, do I? I would've taken that as a insult if it didn't get me a place to stay. I just tell everyone my parents live in Kansas. That satisfies them.
'I understand' was the last thing I said to her. Well, the last thing I said that she heard. I felt like since I said them, I should do it. 'I'm gonna get you back, even if it's the last thing I do'. I am going to get her back. I can't lose her again.
I sat up and pushed the covers off me slowly, groaning. I quickly picked out some clothes for school, and then put on my wig. The worst part about wearing a wig, is that it's bad for The Hair. Ro took a few pictures of me and Sophie, and I always carry one around, so she'll always be with me.

That was when we went on a date to the forbidden cities. Paris, I think? That day was so fun. I can't believe I ruined my chance for more. I was and am so happy when I'm around Sophie, but I had to go and be a dimwit and mess it up. I wish I could go back to how it was. I also miss drinking Youth.
-------------------------------------------------FLASHBACK START---------------------------------------------------
"Close your eyes, Foster." I told her, closing my fist around the pathfinder so she couldn't guess our destination. I've been stealing it so much, it's practically mine. Not that Lord Snootypants cared. He barely ever used it anymore.
She smirked and closed her eyes, her beautiful long eyelashes fluttering every once in a while. "Ro..!" I whisper hissed, my memory failing me. "Which facet is it?" She shrugged, her face twisting into a mischievous smirk, like she was readying herself for some drama. "My boy, you should know these things! I'm sure Blondie would much prefer a guy who could actually remember things, isn't that right, Blondie?" Sophie didn't answer, but her face told me she probably wouldn't care.
"Plus," Ro continued, "I can always just prank you and bring you to a random place." I groaned, examining the pathfinder. After more time than I would like to admit, I finally recognized the facet and tried to forcefully tug Ro to my side, to show her how I was really hating her. Of course, she didn't budge. I draped an arm over Sophie's shoulders and just grabbed Ro's wrist. I held the crystal up to the light and stepped in to the beam.
An alley facing the beautiful bridge of Pont Alexandre III glittered into view, the late afternoon sun warming my skin. I wasn't really thinking properly when I picked Paris. I just heard it was the city of love, I didn't think about the fact that this was the place the Neverseen took Sophie and Dex when they kidnapped them.
I turned to Sophie, her face blank, her eyes still closed. Good. She didn't know where we were. "Stay close, Ro. Otherwise the humans will see you." I ordered. I didn't want this date to go wrong.
On the way to the date spot, Sophie almost tripped 8 times, despite me holding her hand. After stopping her from face planting straight into the side walk again, I decided that carrying her would be safer. "Sophie, you seem very bad at avoiding invisible things on the ground that trip you, so I think it would be safer if I carried you." I positioned my arm under her knees, but she pulled away, miraculously not tripping on a stick next to her foot, her eyes still closed. "Keefe, no." She whined. "I just ditched Sandor, I don't need you obsessing over little things like me tripping, too."
I smiled, shaking my head even though she couldn't see. "No, no, Foster. This is non-negotiable. Plus, as your boyfriend, it is my job to worry about you. Like I said before, Sandor isn't cutting it." I positioned myself again, this time actually picking herself up bridal style. She squealed my name, squirming and obviously not used to being carried.
"Don't worry, Foster. Two more minutes and we'll arrive." I assured her, my hand reaching up a bit to brush her hair out of her eyes. She startled at my touch, but quickly sank into it. I glanced at Ro, worried about how she was unusually quiet. Her face formed an inexplicable shape, and I realized I probably shouldn't question it. When I turned my head back towards Sophie, she creeped up behind me. "Pretend I'm not here, Funkyhair. It'll make it more romantic." Ro dragged out the last word. She startled me, making me jump, and making Sophie open her eyes.
I quickly covered her eyes again, but realized it wasn't necessary because I had just moved inside the range of the other obscurer I place around what I planned. I set her down and gave Ro my other obscurer and shooed her away.
"You can open your eyes now." I whispered into Sophie's ear. I had sat behind her, my legs spooning hers, my chin resting on her shoulder, and my hands in hers. She opened her eyes, her emotions skyrocketing at the first sight of our date spot. We were sat down on the classic red and white plaid picnic blanket in a forest with tons of... I think their called fairy lights? I had scattered lots of rose petals on the soft grass, platters of our favorite sweets surrounding us, more in the picnic basket. The dark green forest and trees matched the sunset perfectly, making this little spot be the ideal place to be at this time.
"Wow..." She breathed, her smile triggering a bunch of happiness inside me. "...You like it?" I asked, wanting confirmation. She pulled away from me and turned around to face me, her expression unreadable. "... I don't like it..." She confirmed. My spirits dropping to the center of the earth. She seemed so happy ea-... She cut off my thoughts by pressing her lips to mine. My eyes widened at her expression, staring straight at her closed ones. I eventually relaxed. It soon turned into a full-out make out session, and I wondered how we went from her telling me she didn't like something, to kissing.
She eventually pulled away, watching my face fall. "You know I never finished my sentence..." She muttered in my ear after wrapping me up in a hug. "I was going to say I don't like it, but I love it." She pulled me to my feet and positioned us in a tango. One of her smooth hands reached into her pocket and pulled out her ipod. "How about we dance?" I fake pouted. "I don't know... I had big plans for Mallowme- of course, dummy. Let's dance, Ms. F."
Her face curved into one of her heart-lifting smiles and she pressed a button on her ipod. Beautiful music filled our surroundings, and it became the finishing touch to the perfect date.

Another chapter done! My longest one yet, too! 1408 words! It's also my first time writing a one-shot, and I've decided it's going to become a regular thing. There will be more flashbacks and bonus chapters with one-shots. Should I make a continuation of this one?
QOTC: Ever taken an ability quiz? If so, what's your ability? I'm an Empath and a teleporter.
WYR: Marellinh or Wylinh? I'm Marellinh through and through. Everyone should consider Tylie tho- (Wylie x Tam).
I hope you enjoyed!
