"ah, hyung, you're back so soon!" tae yelled, running over to jin and giving him a hug.

"aish, don't suffocate him," jungkook muttered.

"he's just excited to see you," jimin explained, smiling. "we all are, actually. usually you leave for so long, but now you're already back to play with us! you're going to play with us, right, hyung?"

jin smiled and ruffled jimin's hair. "of course, of course. anything for my donsaengs."

"yay! hyung, we were just about to run our set. can you do it with us please? it's always so much better with hyung!"

jin nodded. "sure thing."

yoongi smiled at him as he came into the room. "hey, hyung. i just overheard that you're going to practice with us?"

jin nodded.

"great. before we run it, though, give us a joke," yoongi demanded, tilting his head.

"um..." jin trailed off. something must have been wrong because nothing was coming to mind even though he must have had a million jokes stored in his brain. "i'm sorry, i can't think of any right now."

"that's all right, hyung. don't sweat it. just let me know if it comes back to you."

jin nodded, smiling, and they all got in position for the run through.

at the end, jin felt great. he was coated in a thin veil of sweat, but he'd nailed all of his lines, which was quite a feat considering that he had at least one verse of solo for every song. he'd also gotten every move of each dance, which was equally hard because he was in the lead position in most of the formations.

"see? i knew it would be better with hyung!" jimin said, snuggling into jin.

"aish! i'm all sweaty!" jin said, pushing jimin off him, but he laughed anyway.

"yeah, i'm with jimin," hobi said. "we always have to fill them time when you're away, and it's just so boring. hyung, can you stay longer this time?"

jin bit his lip. "i don't know..." he had this suspicion like there was somewhere else he was supposed to be, but why would he have scheduled anything outside of bts?

"please, hyung?" jimin asked, giving him mochi eyes.

"please?"

"please?"

"please stay with us?"

"i get lonely," yoongi said, looking down.

jin sighed before smiling. "sure, i guess. whatever else i had going on can't be that important anyway."

taehyung smiled. "yah! hyung is the best!"

jin blushed slightly out of embarrassment since everyone was complimenting him so much. "okay okay, tone it down."

"no, really! we have the best hyung," jimin added.

namjoon smacked jin's back. "they're not wrong. just accept it, you're fantastic and everyone loves you."

jin smiled hesitantly. "all right..."

"so hyung is staying, right?" jimin asked, jumping up and down.

jin nodded, smiling once more. "i'm staying."

jin kept his eyes open.
