9. Our son!

"Kookie, why can't you live with us?" As he sat on Jungkook's lap, Ji-hu inquired. He was playing with the elder's fingers.

"Oh, baby! I have work to do. Plus, I'm not married to your eomma yet." Jungkook responded to the boy and smiled when he looked at Ji-hu pouting. He kissed his temple.

"Kookie, once you get mawwied to eomma, we both will play a lot." Ji-hu expressed himself by clapping his tiny hands.

The little one had no idea what the word "marriage" meant. All he cared about was to play with someone when his eomma was busy.

"Who is getting married?" Taehyung inquired. Once he left Jimin, he went to his studio to think for some time. All of a sudden, he was bored and so he decided to go somewhere to have peace of mind. He observed Jungkook sitting on the ground outside Yoongi's studio with Ji-hu on his lap as he walked to the elevator.

Oh boy! How much he wished to be in Jungkook's place! He envied his younger brother now.

Initially, Taehyung thought of walking away, ignoring Jungkook and Ji-hu's presence. But when the little boy talked about his mother's marriage, he became intrigued.

"TaeTae~" Ji-hu sprung from Jungkook's lap and dashed over to embrace his TaeTae.

When Taehyung saw the little boy run, he knelt down and took the boy in his arms. He made Ji-hu giggle by kissing the mole on his nose.

Jungkook stood up from the ground, pondering his options. Jia and Ji-hu were people he had known for a long time. However, Jungkook felt concerned by the closeness the little kid shared with Taehyung since the day they met. He didn't like how close they were. He, on the other hand, had no voice in the matter. How can they get so close when they just met? Or are they related to each other?

"Take him to Yoongi hyung's studio when you've finished talking. I have some work." Jungkook spoke without meeting Taehyung's eyes and went away.

Maknae's actions made Taehyung smirk. He looked at the boy in his arms who was playing with Taehyung's rings with a cute pout. The older couldn't stop himself from cooing. He wrapped his arms around the boy and inhaled his aroma. He had a faint resemblance to his mother's scent. There was also a blend of some other scent that Taehyung couldn't recognize. It seemed familiar and oddly satisfying.

"Do you love my rings?" Taehyung inquired while hugging the boy.

Ji-hu replied, throwing his hands around Taehyung's neck, "Yes, I love shiny things." He rested his face on Taehyung's shoulder and continued, "TaeTae, it feels so good to hug you. I hug everyone but hugging you feels cho good."

"Awww my baby! Don't hug everyone. Just hug me when you feel like hugging someone. I won't push you away," Taehyung remarked. "Come, let us go somewhere. Do you like pastries?" Taehyung asked Ji-hu.

"I love it. But I like stawbewry," Ji-hu spoke, displaying his boxy smile.

"Baby, it's strawberry." With the same boxy smile, Taehyung corrected the boy.

"Stawbewry?" Ji-hu tilted his head in confusion. But then his attention was drawn to something else. "TaeTae, you also have a mole on your nosey. See! I also have." Ji-hu spoke cutely as he pointed his nose.

"Ofcourse you had to have. You even have a boxy-smile, just like me." Taehyung thought but chose to keep mum. He just smiled.

"Come, let's go," Taehyung stated as he started walking. He took a black mask out of his pocket and put it on.

Taehyung asked Ji-hu some random questions about him and his mom as he walked to the nearest café. Taehyung was taken aback when he walked into the café. "Eomma? Appa?" He almost screamed after looking at the two figures sitting at the table near the entrance.

"Harabeoji? Halmeoni?" Unlike Taehyung, who was surprised and terrified, Ji-hu yelled with the same ferocity but a smile.

Ji-hu wiggled in Taehyung's arms, wanting him to put him down, which Taehyung did. Not because of Ji-hu but because of the terror. The little boy ran towards his grandparents and hugged them. Jia gave them a loving smile before rising to her feet and moving towards the man who stood with his mouth hanging open.

"Why were you with my son?" Jia inquired, crossing her arms.

"Our son!" Taehyung reprimanded her, which angered the girl.

Jia slapped Taehyung, drawing her son and in-laws' attention. When a few customers saw this, they began taking pictures. "He. is. my. Son" Jia harshly pointed to Taehyung's chest, stressing each syllable.

"Stop being in denial..." Taehyung spoke from behind the mask. He took off the mask and went near the girl's left ear, whispering, "...Babygirl!"

This man will be my end, Jia thought.

Soon, Jia's father-in-law approached them and yanked Taehyung's arms away from Jia, separating them and slapping him. "Keep your distance from our daughter."

Taehyung was shocked would be an understatement. How could his parents be so obnoxious? He expected his mother to intervene and stop her husband by looking at her with pleading eyes. She, on the other hand, was looking down at Ji-hu and holding his hand tightly in hers.

There were days when Taehyung's mother stood by him, no matter what. She would fight with her husband for her loving son. Taehyung was never treated kindly by her spouse. She did, however, defend her boy as a mother would. In other words, she spoilt him to the point where he left Jia.

He made a mistake when he got the girl pregnant at the age of 22. He made a mistake when he married her for the sake of his career rather than love. He made a mistake by never paying her a visit to Daegu. He was wrong when he never stood by Jia's side during her pregnancy when she needed him the most. When he went a year without seeing his son's face, he was wrong. Even though he had a wife and a child at home, he was wrong when he called his father and said he would be bringing his girlfriend. He was also mistaken when Jia signed the divorce papers and hurled them in his face, thus permanently leaving Daegu.

Taehyung lowered his head, as he always did when he was scared of his father. Even though he was in his thirties, he was still a son.

Ji-hu approached his grandfather and took his hands in his. His grandfather's eyes softened as he looked at the boy. "Harabeoji, don't beat my TaeTae. He is good. I love him, just like I love you."

"Baby Bear, he isn't good. He is evil. You must stay away from him."

"Appa! Don't teach him to hate me. Please, Appa! I've suffered enough." Taehyung begged his father with teary eyes.

"And, what about this girl? She has been through more than you have. I never taught you to be a disloyal and disrespectful man. Have I ever treated your eomma like that?" Taehyung flinched when his father screamed.

There was an excessive amount of tension in the room. They failed to notice, however, that Taehyung was not wearing a mask and that customers were present in the café.
