11. Like father, like son

"Eomma, no café?" Ji-hu asked his mother as he sat on her lap.

"No baby! We can't go out for some time." Jia spoke up as she stroked her son's hair.

"Then can we go to Uncie's studo? Pwease eomma, I miss them." Ji-hu shifted his gaze to his mother's side. He tried to blackmail her with his cute little pout.

"Baby, it's already evening. You had been sleeping for the whole day. We will go tomorrow, okay? I need to make dinner for us." Jia responded as she pecked on Ji-hu's pout. The younger guffawed and hugged his mother, his head resting on her chest.

"Eomma, you know, I've hugged everyone. But I love to hug TaeTae. It feels so good. It feels like I'm hugging you." He pulled out from the hug and looked up to meet the eyes of his mother. "Eomma, who is my Appa? Why haven't I seen him? Does he hate us? Why do we live with Uncie? Why do you cry every night?"

Ji-hu asked those questions innocently. Jia expected these questions from her son at some point in his life. She never mentioned his father all these years because she didn't know what to say.

How could she say that her son was a mistake? It wasn't like she hated him. But when she got pregnant, she was very young. She had no intention of becoming pregnant. She also did not want her son to despise his father. Jia always loved his father unconditionally, even if he never loved him. Jia might have been a fling for him, but she willingly gave herself to him.

"My baby bear, you need to grow up. You are too small to learn and understand the truth." Jia answered, kissing Ji-hu's forehead. "Just remember, Eomma loves you. You made my life better, baby."

"Eomma, I love you chuu~ and I am a big boy. I will protect you always. I will dhishoom dhishoom who makes you cry." He showed his fist and threw small punches, showing anger that seemed cute.

"Aww, baby! Don't worry, no one can make your eomma cry anymore." Jia said, hugging Ji-hu and talking in his warmth. The boy's birth gave her strength. He made Jia's life better and she loved him a lot.

"You still cry every night," Ji-hu spoke in a low voice, pouting again. He loved his mother too. She meant the world to him.

"Okay! You play. I will go and prepare dinner." She remarked while putting Ji-hu down from the lap and standing up.

"Eomma, no beans, and vegetables. Also, don't make it spicy. I couldn't eat yesterday." Ji-hu demanded, showing his doe eyes.

"Like father, like son." Jia talked to herself. "Okay, little devil." She responded and went out of Ji-hu's room.

🥀

"Yeobo, do you think Jin will help us this time?" Hye-Soo asked her husband, who was seated alongside her in a guest room watching the news.

Currently, the couple was living at Yoongi's place. They had become accustomed to this place by now. Since the time Jia and Ji-hu had been staying here, the in-laws visited them frequently since Ji-hu adored them and they missed the mother-son duo too.

Yoongi stayed with the other idols in their agency building. They had their separate studios as well as rooms. Yoongi returned to his home on weekends to spend time with his sister and nephew. Because Jia was occupied with her café, he also took Ji-hu to his studio most of the time.

"I want to believe so." Taehyung's father, Daehyun sighed and turned to his right to face his wife after turning off the television. "Jagiya, I'm worried for our daughter. She is still young. Don't you think we should find a suitable guy for her? Ji-hu needs a father too." He spoke with a concern-filled voice.

"It's not possible to trust boys these days. Look at what our son did with her. Do you think I will trust some other guy now? We need to look for a boy who we know." Hye-Soo responded, resting her head on her husband's shoulder.

"We can talk to Yoongi about this. Also, we don't know if Jia will agree or not. If you can't trust any other boy being a mother, do you think it's easy for her to trust someone with her and most importantly with her son?" Daehyun explained, rubbing soothing circles behind his wife's back.

They sat like that for a while until the silence was broken by a knock on the door.

"Mom, dad, dinner is ready." Jia called out from outside the door, earning a "coming" from the couple.

🥀

Jia shouted at her kid, who was picking vegetables from Japchae noodles, "Ji-hu, eat the vegetables!" He, like his father, adored Japchae but despised vegetables.

Daehyun looked at his grandchild, who was acting like a young Taehyung, and murmured in his wife's ear, "Doesn't he appear to be Taehyung's younger version?"

All Hye-Soo could do was sigh and nod in agreement.

They loved to remember those memories of their only son. It made them happy. But they felt sad as well. Taehyung never got to see his son grow up, nor did he get to see what his ex-wife went through during her pregnancy. He failed to be a good son, father, and husband, making his parents feel bad for raising him in this manner.

_______________

I would love to have such in-laws who would love me like their own.

Such people are rare to find these days. I love them so much.

We can take this chapter as a filler. I know, there isn't much going on. But I can't directly come to the main parts skipping the fillers. So enjoy the story and let me know your views.

I love you all, my lovelies! 💜

Well, they are a family 🙈
