Kakashi POV

~ At his house ~

Kakashi was trying to get some rest for tomorrow, but he couldn't fall asleep for anything. All he did was toss and turn in bed. He had been thinking about the fact he had almost let (Name) see his face. He couldn't believe how fast she broke down his walls with just one word. He sat up, face completely red, having a flashback of her telling him to stay. He couldn't be falling for her... Right?

"What am I doing, I can never think straight when I'm around her." he says while sinking his face into his hands, trying to regain his composure. "I can't fall for her, what if I hurt her like I did to you..." Kakashi looks at his squad picture from when he was younger. "Rin.."

"I don't want to lose her the same way I lost you and Obito."

~ Somewhere else ~

In the forest, a mysterious figure walks into an open grass field. This man had a mask on with short black hair. He looked up to the full moon and clenched his fists.

"It's time I take away someone you love... Hatake Kakashi." the masked man starts walking again.

"It's time you knew what REAL Hell feels like."

~Next Morning~

Naruto POV

"Nee-chan has been acting weird lately. Her face is red every time she touches her cheek, she giggles like a baby, and she's always around that masked dude with the spiky hair..." Naruto thought to himself as he laid in his bed. He decided to sneak into your room and attack you in your sleep.

"She won't know what hit her, hehe" Naruto thought. As soon as he snuck into your room, he dashed towards your bed and jumped towards you. Little did he know you had sensed him coming into your room.

"Well, I'll give him an A for effort. To wake up early just to get the jump on me is true dedication." you thought as you pretended to still be asleep. But right when Naruto was about to land on you, you realized what today was.

"Today's the day I hang out with Kakashi-kun! What am I still doing in bed?!" you yelled as you ran out of your room to the shower. Naruto, however, got elbowed by you at the same time and was on the ground flabbergasted.

"S-so close... N-nee-chan.. help.." Naruto whispered extending his hand out towards the door, but he was too winded to move and fainted.

~ To Kakashi ~

Kakashi was still in bed sleeping. It took him a while to fall asleep that night but at least he got some hours in.

"No.. Gai I'll kill you.. she's mine.." Kakashi mumbled in his sleep. Wonder what kind of dream he's having.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

Kakashi jolted up from his bed and was in a battle position due to the scare he got. He then looked out his window to find Gai pressed on the glass with a wide grin on his face. Kakashi sighed in exhaustion and opened his window which caused Gai to fall to the ground face first.

"Dammit Gai, will I ever get any peace and quiet with you always around?" Kakashi folded his arms.

"If I was never around, you'd never have gone to (Name)-chan's house yesterday, right?" Gai says while sitting up to strike the nice Gai pose. "Besides, shouldn't you be getting ready Kakashi? You have to go soon right?"

"Hm? What are you talking about?" Kakashi looks at the time and his eyes go wide.

10:30 am. He had to meet (Name) at 11:30 am to eat Ichiraku Ramen.

"Crap! I overslept, out of the way Gai!" Kakashi ran past Gai to get ready. Gai was laughing as soon as Kakashi left. He's never seen Kakashi look so stressed.

"The springtime of youth is near, and love is such a youthful thing!" Gai says while looking up at the ceiling.

~11:30 am at Ichiraku Ramen with (Name)~

You were waiting for Kakashi to show up. You just arrived nearly late thinking he would be here to bug you about being late, but he wasn't there like you expected.

"Are you waiting for someone (Name)?" Teuchi asked as he was preparing your usual order. You always came here with Naruto whenever you could, it was your favorite place to eat. It was like a second home to the both of you.

"Yeah, I have a da- I mean I'm hanging out with a friend today!" you said flustered while throwing your hands up in defense.

"Awe, (Name)-chan's got a boyfriend now! I'm so jealous!" Ayame yelled, making you blush furiously at the thought of you in a relationship with Kakashi.

"I don't have a boyfriend! He's just a friend! I met him this week! There's nothing going on! It's not a date! Just a friendly day out with a guy who's just a friend!!!" You rambled on waving your hands all over the place. Ever since this morning, you have been thinking about how today could go. You had butterflies in your stomach and you couldn't help but fidget around in your seat. You barely knew Kakashi but you could learn some things about him today that can either bring you two closer or have you friend zoned for eternity.

Naruto had been following you ever since you left the house. He was angry you went to your special eating spot without him. He was about to confront you until someone grabbed his shoulder.

"Naruto!! What are you doing here?! You're supposed to be cleaning up the mess you left at the schoolyard!" Iruka scolded. Naruto had set up a trap for Iruka yesterday that caused the whole schoolyard to be covered with paint along with Iruka. He had been hunting Naruto down so he could clean up his mess. "Come on you're cleaning it right now, even if it takes you the whole day!" Iruka said while dragging Naruto by his shirt.

"Ahhh!!! Wait Iruka-sensei! I gotta confront Nee-chan! Somebody save me!!!!" Naruto cried while trying to escape from Iruka. You were glad Iruka-sensei watched over you two like you were his own kids, especially Naruto. You really needed Naruto to leave, you're just glad Naruto had gotten into trouble so he would leave you alone.

Kakashi walked in afterward timidly, slightly embarrassed for showing up late. You were surprised when he entered, you didn't even sense him coming.

"Sorry I'm late, I ran into this old lady who needed help with her groceries.." Kakashi said while rubbing the back of his neck.

"Liar." you thought to yourself, but you kept quiet. "It's fine just take a seat, I already ordered my food."

"Oh alright then, I'll have whatever she's having."

"I hope it's your treat Kakashi, I forgot my wallet at home." you said while laughing nervously. All Kakashi did was sigh and nod his head.

"Here you go!" Teuchi said while giving you two the bowls of Ramen.

"Thank you for the meal!" You both said at the same time.

~ Time skip ~

You two were walking side by side throughout the village. Kakashi held out his empty wallet and sighed.

"I can't believe you ate 5 bowls of Ramen, remind me next time to bring extra cash." Kakashi said to you while you laughed nervously. He thought whenever you were acting flustered or embarrassed it was cute. But he would never say that straight to your face, at least not now.

"Sorry, I just love Ramen! Especially the way they make it at Ichiraku's."

"It's fine, but I wanna take you somewhere so we can just sit down, relax, and talk."

"Eh." You thought. "Relax and talk?! Alone?! With Kakashi?!" You were so flustered that you nearly fainted.

"Are you okay?" Kakashi asks while taking your hand. That only made things worse. You became a stuttering mess.

"I-I'm f-fine!" you said while looking away. You were completely embarrassed about how silly you must've looked in front of him. But Kakashi thought you were adorable. With that he dragged you, your hand still in his, past villagers to go to the place he talked about. Soon you found yourself at a training ground with three wooden poles next to a river. The sun was setting too, the place looked beautiful in your opinion.

"Alright, now we can talk." Kakashi said while sitting beside the river.

"Well um, what do you wanna talk about?"

"Anything really, just need something to start a conversation."

"Okay. Do you come to this training ground often?" you said while fidgeting your thumbs. "How did I end up in such a romantic setting?" was all you kept thinking about. It gave you goosebumps.

"Well, I used to train here with my teammates back when I was a genin. I come back every now and then to train, or just look back at some memories I made here." He says while staring at the sunset.

You found yourself staring at Kakashi. Curiosity just took over you at that moment. "Don't you see them at all? Like, hang out to look back on those memories together?"

Kakashi flinched and turned his head away from you. "I wish I could. Unfortunately, they passed away... I'm the only one left."

Your eyes widened, tears slowly starting to form. You didn't realize he was carrying such a weight on his shoulders. You reached over a hugged Kakashi, tears running down your face. Kakashi was stunned, he didn't know how to react.

"I'm so sorry Kakashi..." you said while looking at him, your arms still on his shoulders.

"Stupid.. why are you apologizing.." Kakashi pulled you towards his chest. He found so much comfort just having you in his arms. You continued to cry in his embrace, and Kakashi found himself stroking your hair while resting his head on yours. You looked up at him. His eyes were filled with so much pain and loneliness. How could you not notice this before?

"Feeling better?" Kakashi said while wiping away what tears you had left.

"Yeah, sorry for getting emotional on you." you blushed while noticing he still had his hands on your cheeks. He smiled and chuckled at the sight of your rosy cheeks.

"Thank you, (Name)." Kakashi said not realizing he was leaning in closer to your face. You two were inches from each other's lips. Your heart rate sped up, you couldn't take your eyes away from his. It took a lot of strength to keep Kakashi from kissing you, but he looked away and backed away from you. You were upset when he did. But you were understood his feelings, so you tried not to show your disappointment.

"It's getting late, I'll walk you home." Kakashi said while standing up, extending his hand to help you up.

"Right, thanks." you tried to smile and took his hand. You two were walking in silence the rest of the way to your apartment.

When you reached your door, you sighed realizing your day together was coming to an end.

"(Name)?"

"Yes?" you turned to Kakashi.

"I haven't enjoyed myself in a long time. Thank you for today." and with that, he hugged you one more time. You thought you felt his lips on your head but you couldn't tell, you were literally resting your head on his chest. It felt like a long time had passed before you pulled away from each other. You wished it lasted a little bit longer.

You waved goodbye to Kakashi as he left the apartment complex, disappearing from your sight. You entered your home and leaned against the door. You had such a big grin on your face. You felt like Naruto. Suddenly, you felt like someone was staring into your soul with intense fury and rage. You looked down to find Naruto covered in dirt and paint with a vein popping out of his forehead.

"Nee-chan! You owe me 7 bowls of Ramen!"
