Lin sat up, and poked at his legs. Nothing. "Pip," he whispered. She didn't move. "Pippa! Babe!" He called. She turned over and rubbed her eyes.

"What's wrong?" She said. Lin's breathing started to pick up. "What?" She asked.

"My legs. I can't feel them," he said. Pippa sat up quickly and turned on the lights.

"What do you mean?" She panicked. He poked at his legs and shook his head.

"I don't feel anything," he said. Phillipa quickly grabbed her phone and called 911.

"I need an ambulance...my finance can't feel his legs..." She started. She soon gave the address of their house and hung up. "They are on their way. I'm gonna go get Stevie," Phillipa said. She grabbed Stevie's keys and ran out of the room to Stevie's. When she got there she didn't even pay attention to the fact that Stevie was covering herself with the cover, which implied that... well, you know.

"Mom!" Stevie yelled. Phillipa held up her hand to stop her daughter.

"Save it! There is an ambulance coming to take Lin to the hospital. I need you guys to follow us to the hospital! Get up!" Phillipa said. She tossed the keys on the bed and ran back to her room. She ran around the room trying to get ready herself. She already had on leggings so, she put a t-shirt on over her sports bra. "Are you in pain?" She asked. Lin shrugged.

"A little, but not really. I still have this cough though," he said. She nodded and ran to the door when the paramedics knocked. The EMT's followed Pippa to the master bedroom and got Lin on a gurney. Phillipa picked up Lesley, who was still asleep and followed to the ambulance. She hopped in behind Lin and sat on the side.

"It's going to be okay, babe," she reassured. She laid Lesley on Lin's chest and watched the baby girl snuggle herself into her father's chest.

11 AM appeared through Lin's hospital room window. Phillipa was on the couch with Lesley. The baby sat in her Momma's lap as she drank her bottle, and stared at her mother's phone. Phillipa scrolled through her emails. She watched Lin sleep, every now and then she would look up to see if he woke up. But nothing. He passed out in the ambulance and hadn't woken up yet. Lesley stretched out her free arm and almost hit Phillipa in the face. "Okay," Pippa pushed Lesley's hand down. "Let's not hit mommy in the eye. That'd be great, thanks," Phillipa said. Lesley pushed her hand against Phillipa's. "Lesley Charlotte," Phillipa said sternly.

"Ha," Phillipa heard. She looked up to see Lin had laughed at her. She put her phone down and held Lesley by the waist. Phillipa moved next to Lin and set their child on her dad.

"You're awake," Pippa smiled. Lin pushed his hair behind his ears and nodded.

"Yeah. I still can't feel my legs, but I'm feeling alright. The pain is gone," he said. "What did they say happened?" He asked. Phillipa sighed and went back to the couch. She ran her hand through her hair and flipped it to the right.

"They said that your cough that we thought was the flu, wasn't. It was mycoplasma pneumonia. And because it got worse it spiraled into Guillain-Barré Syndrome which caused the paralysis in your legs. Thankfully we got you here in time or else it could have gone higher," Phillipa explained. Lin nodded and looked at Lesley. "The doctor is gonna put you on a treatment to get you into recovery soon," Phillipa said.

"Okay. Well how long will my legs not work?" Lin asked. Pippa shrugged.

"I don't know. They said it could be weeks, months, or years," Pippa answered. She saw that the sentence made Lin sad so she tried to raise the mood. "Let's just hope that it is before our wedding," Phillipa said. Lin nodded. They had picked a date just that night. Because they got engaged 7 months ago on December 14th, they decided that their wedding would be August 20th. They for some reason just fell in love with that day.

"Are you sure you don't wanna push it back? It's very close to the date of today. And I don't know if I will be better," Lin said. Pippa shook her head and got up. She sat next to Lin, towards him, and gave her man a kiss.

"I'm marrying you. Not your sickness. Whether you are in a chair or not I am going to marry you on August 20th, 2017," she said. Lin smiled and kissed Phillipa once again. They pulled away and Lin looked around confused.

"Where is our other child?" He asked. Phillipa took Lesley's empty bottle so she wouldn't suck down air, and put it behind her.

"She is at home. Today is she and Amir's early day, though. They should be here at 12," Phillipa answered. Lin nodded and held Lesley so she was standing on his thighs. He gave her raspberry kisses on her cheeks, while she put her fingers in her mouth. "Are you excited to see sissy?" Phillipa said to her baby. Lesley just smiled. Phillipa felt her phone buzz. She picked it out of her pocket and unlocked it. There was a text from Stevie.

Babygirl👶🏼:  Momma we're hungry can you put money on my card.
Momma Lip😍🤞🏼🍯: What happened to your paycheck?
Babygirl👶🏼: I don't have that card with me I just have my Apple Federal card.
Momma Lip😍🤞🏼🍯: Fine. How much?
Babygirl👶🏼: Like 20 idk we are going to McDonald's and then coming to the hospital.
Momma Lip😍🤞🏼🍯: Get me and dad sweet teas.
Babygirl👶🏼: mkk thanks, mom.
Momma Lip😍🤞🏼🍯: No problem.

Phillipa opened the bank app and transferred 20 bucks onto Stevie card. While in her bank app she saw that account that had, now, 800 dollars in it. She decided that she had Lin with her to ask him about it. "Hey, babe," she said. He looked passed the baby and sat her down. "What's this account that has 800 dollars in it for?" She asked. He smiled and looked at his daughter.

"It's for Lesley. It's to pay for whatever she wants to do out of high school. Whether it be travel or for food for college. Stevie is going to college next year so I know we have money for that. But, I don't know what will happen in 18 years with Lesley. So, I want to be prepared. I'm sorry I didn't tell you, I just wasn't thinking," Lin answered. Phillipa kissed him again. A smile was plastered to Lin's face when she pulled away.

"I love you so much. That is an amazing thing you are doing for our girls," Phillipa praised. Lin pulled Phillipa close to him and kissed her forehead.

"I am excited for the future of us," he said. The two laid next to each other for the rest of the afternoon. When Stevie and Amir showed up, the teenagers and the adults sipped their teas.

"How was school, Amir?" Phillipa asked. Amir shrugged.

"It was fine. I was bored, and worried about my mans Lin," Amir said. Lin chuckled and continued to drink his tea.

"What about you, Ana?" Phillipa asked. Stevie shrugged.

"I was bored at home. I cleaned my room. The nurseries. Your room. The kitchen-" Stevie was cut off by her mom's half spit take.

"Woah back up! You said you cleaned our room? Like just put some stuff away or deep clean?" She asked. Stevie smirked because she knew what her mom was getting at.

"Deep clean," she smirked. Phillipa bit her lip in embarrassment. "Yeah, I had the same reaction," Stevie said. Phillipa thought about the vibrator in her bedside table. Or the numerous sex toys that were hidden under the bed. The many condom wrappers on the floor from the past week. The couple could barely keep their hands off of each other. "You, my friend, have been a very busy woman," Stevie taunted. Phillipa placed her hand over her face, as Stevie, Lin, and Amir started to laugh. Quickly, she turned to her fiancé.

"I don't why your laughing. She is talking about our sex life," Phillipa said. Lin immediately stopped the laughter, which caused the teens to laugh harder and for Phillipa to laugh. The family talked all night until visiting hours ended. Phillipa stayed with her man, but Amir and Stevie took home, Mason and Lesley. Phillipa laid next to Lin, with her leg bent over his and her head on his chest. She was asleep but, Lin couldn't seem to get there.

"Best of Wives and Best of Woman,"  he sang. Phillipa snuggled closer at the sound of his voice.

"Come back to sleep," she replied. Lin looked down, and she hadn't even opened her eyes. He played with her hair until he fell asleep. This illness may have put him in the hospital. But it also put him closer to his lady.
