The next morning, Pippa woke up next to her boss. She noticed that she was in a bra and underwear when she glanced down, as memories of the night before flooded her brain. She took a quick peek under the covers to make sure he had on boxes and thankfully he did. She instinctually turned over to check her phone and as soon as the screen lit up, she broke down. There were multiple voicemails from Stevie, so she listened to all of them. Pippa sat up and wiped her tears as she listened to Stevie's broken cries. Quickly, she dialed Stevie's number and put her phone to her ear. The phone rang three times before Stevie answered. "What?" Stevie coldly answered.
"Where are you? What hospital? I'm coming to get you," Pippa spoke, ignoring the slight anger in the teen's voice. She got up and grabbed some clean clothes while waiting for an answer.
"Why? You neglected me last night when I needed you!" Stevie yelled. Pippa ran her hand through her hair and sighed.
"I'm sorry. I didn't hear my phone. I got caught up last night," She confessed. Stevie groaned and picked at her blanket.
"What were you doing? Or should I say who?" She spat. Phillipa rolled her eyes and murmured under her breath.
"We can talk about all that stuff later. Now, where are you?" Pippa shouted. She was getting frustrated and just wanted Stevie home... home...weird right? How you can want someone you barely know in your house more than anything. Strange things we do for love.
"Princeton-Plainsboro," She finally replied. Pippa scoffed, recognizing the name of the medical facility, and put on her shirt.
"How did you get to jersey?" Phillipa asked. Stevie huffed.
"Long story. Not trying to admit it. Just please hurry. I hate hospitals," Stevie whined. Pippa nodded even though Stevie couldn't see her.
"I'm on my way," Pippa said. They two hung up, and Phillipa shook Lin. "Hey!" Pippa called. Lin groaned and rolled over to see the woman he just had sex with awake and dressed.
"What is going on? What time ist?" He asked, still in a groggy state.
"She called. Where are your keys? I have to get her!" Phillipa rushed. Lin pointed to his pants pocket and went back to sleep. "Thanks. Oh, and last night was great!" She said, pecking his lips and leaving out.

At the hospital, Pippa ran to the front desk, eagerly. "I'm looking for Steviana Carpenter!" She said, frantically. The lady looked at her up and down.
"Relationship to the patient?" The nurse asked. Pippa rolled her eyes and thought quickly. She couldn't say she was her mother, they could look that up, but an aunt was like whatever. They wouldn't check that!
"I'm her aunt!" Phillipa said. The tired nurse nodded and pulled up Stevie's file.
"Floor 3. Room 218," She informed. Phillipa speed walked to the elevator and impatiently waited for it to get to the 3rd floor. When she got there, a nicely dressed doctor was in the room, standing before Stevie with a clipboard. Stevie's eyes lit up, even though she was fighting the joy when Pippa walked in.
"Pippa," She breathed. The doctor looked at her and smiled.
"I'm Lisa Cuddy. I am your daughter's doctor," she said.
"She's definitely not my mom," Stevie said. Pippa agreed and sat her bag on the chair. "She's somehow better, though," Stevie half smiled.
"How long have you known Stevie?" Cuddy asked. Pippa looked at Stevie and mouthed 'three'. Stevie nodded and giggled a bit.
"Three weeks," Phillipa said. Cuddy started to laugh.
"I have never seen this before but, there is a first for everything. Anyways, I was just telling Stevie that she has a broken tibia, a black eye, stitches in her temple, and two stitches in her lip," She informed. Pippa held onto Stevie's hand, as Cuddy went down the list of problems. "Oh, and can I talk to you alone for a second?" Cuddy asked, looking at Pippa.
"Me? Uh, sure," She answered. Stevie watched as the two walked out of the glass sliding door. They were standing outside the all-glass wall talking. But, all Stevie saw was Cuddy say something to Phillipa, then Phillipa nod and run her hand through her hair. Next, the two shook hands and parted ways. Pippa came back in the room and Cuddy went down the hall.
"What's going on? Am I gonna die?" Stevie asked as she went into a frenzy. Pippa shook her head and closed the curtains so she a Stevie could talk without distractions.
"You're not gonna die or anything like that," Pippa answered. She sat on the edge of the bed and held Stevie's hand. "Actually, you need to stop stressing. It's not good for little ones," Pippa hinted. Stevie shook her head and shrugged.
"I'm not a little o-oh...Oh!" She realized. It took her a second, but she processed and realized exactly what Phillipa was getting at. Stevie let her free hand slip to her abdomen. She started to cry and shook her head. "This can't be happening," she whispered. Phillipa scooted closer and wiped her tears.
"Hey, listen. It's okay. We can work through this. It's okay," Pippa reassured. Stevie started to hyperventilate, and freak out.
"I can't be a mom! I am a horrible person!" She panicked. Phillipa pressed Stevie's head against her chest and started to sing For Good, she could not afford for Stevie to miscarry right after finding out her child. Stevie's breathing started to even out as she calmed down. Once she finished a couple of verses, Phillipa pulled away from Stevie.
"Let's get you dressed and in the car. It's a long way back to the Big Apple," Pippa said, grabbing Stevie's clothes that she brought from her apartment.
"Thanks, Pippa," Stevie recognized. Pippa nodded and waited for Stevie to change in the bathroom before signing her release forms.

Three hours later, Stevie was in Phillipas' house, asleep on the couch, while Phillipa was in the kitchen finishing lunch for the two when her phone buzzed. It was Lin. "Hello," She greeted. "You're on speaker, but Stevie is asleep," Pippa informed. Lin giggled.
"So about last night? What was that? A one-time thing? A mistake? What?" Lin asked. Phillipa laughed a windily and flipped the grilled chicken for the salads.
"I definitely know it wasn't a mistake. But, I don't know. I want to do it again, but I just got out of a relationship. And as much as I like you I'm just confused at how I feel. Even though we already had sex, I kind of just want to take it slow," Phillipa answered. She could hear Lins smile through the phone.
"Yeah. I'm okay with that. Whatever you want, as long as you are comfortable," Lin said. "We can go as fast or as slow as you'd like," He finished. Lin was always a gentleman. Even with the onstage kiss, he always let Phillipa lead the kiss. He never wanted her to feel forced to do anything. Not even a kiss.
"Thanks, Lin. I'll talk to you later. I think Stevie is waking up," Phillipa said as she saw Stevie start to stir. The pair said goodbye and hung up. Phillipa shoved her phone in her pocket, turned off the stove, and put the chickens on top of their salads.
"What time is it?" Stevie asked. Phillipa sat a plate on the island for Stevie and next to it for herself.
"It's 2. You've been asleep since we got in the car," Pippa answered. Stevie looked Phillipa up and down, she was almost 100 percent sure Pippa could not lift 120 pounds of dead weight.
"How did I get up here?" Stevie asked. Phillipa giggled remembering the obstacles of getting her from the car to the couch.
"Oak and Daveed took turns carrying you," Phillipa answered. Stevie chuckled and looked at the plate. "Everything looking good?" She asked. Stevie nodded and picked up her fork.
"Yeah! It looks amazing! I didn't know you could cook," Stevie approved. Phillipa shrugged and pointed at the Hello Fresh box on the counter.
"I get those boxes shipped to my house every month and the ingredients are already measured. It's perfect. All I have to do is mix it," Phillipa smiled. Stevie laughed and dug into her salad. The two took the first bite together and smiled in satisfaction.
"That's really good," Stevie complimented. Phillipa did a fake bow and smiled.
"Thank you!" She replied. Stevie placed her hand on her stomach and sighed. "What's going on in that beautiful mind of yours?" Phillipa asked. Stevie bit her lip and picked at the colorful salad.
"This baby. What am I gonna do with it? I'm 17, haven't finished school, and I don't have a job," Stevie stressed. Phillipa shook her head.
"But, you have me and I can help you. This baby deserves better than what I did to mine. I promise you that," Pippa smiled. "Oh!" She remembered. Rapidly, she set her fork down and went to her bag. She pulled out three folded pictures from Stevie's sonogram that the doctors had taken while she was under. "Here," she said handing the pictures to Stevie. "That is your baby," Pippa said, pointing to the dot in the empty space of Stevie's uterus.
"Awe. Thanks, P. You rock," She thanked. Stevie spent a good three minutes looking at the pictures. Pippa shrugged and went back to eating.
"Eat up. I have a show tonight and you have to go with me. I'm not comfortable leaving you alone when you have to hobble everywhere with that boot on your foot," Pippa said. She had to be at the theater by 4 for her show at 5. Stevie continued to eat, and talk but glanced at the picture, as if it was gonna change, every minute or so. She was starting to feel excited about her pregnancy. Even if it wasn't conventional.
