Shashi slumped on the sofa lifelessly

"Shashiji... Are--Are you Okay" Garima asked anxiously

"We'll handle alright? Uski Mehendi hai Aaj Garimaji... Kal Haldi, Byaah hai uska do dinn mein. How does she expect us to show ourselves to the world. To Them!! (It's her mehendi ceremony today Garimaji... Haldi tomorrow, Her wedding is scheduled in two days)" Shashi said in disbelieve

"Ji...(yes)"

The whole family gathered around the Duo, But they were unaffected

"Garimaji... Shaadi mazaak nahi hoti. Dia ki marzi nahi thi kya?? (Garimaji... Marriage isn't a joke. Was Dia not willing??)" Shashi asked

"Kabhi aitraaz nahi kia... Humne sabke saamne pucha... Akele mein poocha... Waqt dia usse sochne ka... Aakhri waqt tak kuch nahi kahaa usne... (She never showed her displeasure. I asked her in front of everyone, I asked in person... She didn't say a word till the last moment)" Garima defended

"Toh Fir yeh?? Yeh kya hai Garimaji?? (Then this?? What is this Garimaji??)" Shashi said Waving the letter in front of Garima

"Hum... Hum sach mein nahi jaante Shashiji (I- I really don't know Shashiji)" Garima said

"Kya hua hai yahaan?? (What has happened here??)" Asked a manly voice from the entrance

Garima and Shashi looked at him shocked

"Ar-Arvind" Shashi gasped

"ArvindJi" Garima whispered

Arvind Singh Raizada made his way inside the house with His family in tow

"Kya hua Shashi... Chehre ka rang kyu uda hua hai?? (What happened Shashi, Why has your face lost all the colour??)" Arvind asked

"Arvind... Woh Arvind Dia ghar pe nahi hai (Arvind... Uh- Arvind Dia isn't at home)" Shashi said

Arvind sighed in relief

"Oh- Ho Shashi... Gayi hogi kaheen apni saheliyon ke saath... Aa jaegi vapis, Tum bhi Na daraa hi dia tha(Oh Shashi... She must have gone somewhere with her friends, She'll come back, You had scared us)" Arvind said with a smile

"Haan... Abhi vaise bhi mehendi shuru nahi hui hai (Yes... The mehendi hasn't even started yet)" Ratna said

"Baat actually woh nahi hai Bhabhi... (It's not like that Bhabhi) I'm not worried about whether she'll make it here in time or not... But-" Shashi sighed at the end

"Kya hua hai Shashi, Jante ho na Tum mujhe kuch bhi bataa sakte ho? (What has happened Shashi... You can tell me anything, You know that don't you?)" Arvind said

Wordlessly Shashi passed the letter on to Arvind

"Kya... Dia shaadi nahi karna chaahti thi?? (Did Dia not want to marry??)" Arvind asked. By the time Arnav and akash along with Ratna had also read the note

Arnav was standing with a straight face all this while

"She never opposed this alliance Arvind, I have no Idea what happened so suddenly" Shashi said helplessly

"Uncle... Don't worry, Apni tabiyat kharaab karke kya ho jayega?? (What will happen if you ruin your health??) Will she come back?? Or will you find a solution to this problem??" Arnav asked softly, Giving him some water to drink

"Arnav Beta... Mujhe maaf kardo (Arnav Child... Please forgive me)" Shashi said

"Uncle... Aap kyu maafi maang rahe hain?? Aapki kya galati hai?? (Uncle... Why are you apologizing?? What is your fault??)" Arnav asked softly

"Par Beta...Dia?? (But son... Dia??)" Shashi whispered unsure

"Dia ko yeh shaadi nahi karni thi.. Toh woh chali gayi.. Is mein aapki kya galati hai?? You only told me once That whatever happens happens for good... Maybe this is some kind of signal for us (Dia left... Because she didn't want this marriage. What is your fault in this??)" Arnav said

"Par woh achanak... Chali kyu gayi?? (But why did she leave all of a sudden??)" Akash asked

"She... Had gotten a Call from some fashion week organizers, She was really excited about it, Maybe her leaving suddenly is somehow related to this" Payal piped in

"You knew about it??" Akash asked his wife

"I... Had never imagined she'll leave two days prior to her wedding day though." Payal explained

"No one would... It's not your fault. For a short lived dream of glitters and gold, She left her family just like that" Shashi said sadly

"But whatever it is... If this matter would have come forth on the wedding day... The results would've been more catastrophic." Arvind said

"As if they're not going to be catastrophic now" Shashi mumbled

"Are you for Real Shashi...?? You honestly think I'm going to let you face everything alone?" Arvind asked surprised

"Oh... Arvind-"

"What Oh Arvind Mr Gupta... All those years ago when I was in need of help, Did you back out? NO!! Then how do you expect me to do that to you? We're friends. We've been through everything... Every thick and thin together. And will continue to do it all our lives. You get that??" Arvind asked sternly

"Yeah... I do"

It's been two hours since the storm had striked the house, A house which was still decorated with marigolds for the forthcoming so called wedding

Arvind and his family was still in The Gupta house.

Elders were talking among themselves, Arvind and Ratna were trying to console the Gupta couple who were constantly blaming themselves

"Bua... Khushi ki flight land hone wali hogi haina?? (Aunt... Khushi's flight must be about to land right??)" Akash asked Ratna distracting everyone momentarily

At the mention of her Arnav's head snapped up

"She's coming?" Arnav asked failing in hiding his excitement.

But no one noticed anyway except... Anjali. Who smiled

"Yeah... Her flight must have landed by now." Garima said

"We almost forgot about her in all the chaos" Anjali and Akash gasped

"Now that you remember, Go get her from the airport. Don't be late, And don't drive fast" Ratna instructed

"Both the instructions contradict each other Mumma.. " Arnav said smiling

"What??" Ratna asked confused

"Either... I'll drive fast and reach on time or I'll not drive fast and reach late" Arnav explained

"Shut up Chote... And go get her" Ratna chided

"I'll come with you" Shyam said

"No Jija ji.. I'll manage. You don't need to come" Arnav said

"You sure?" He asked

"Yes" Arnav replied

"But chote..." Ratna retorted

"Will she run away if I go alone Ma?" Arnav asked

"Nahi.. Par (No.. But)" Ratna said

"Jauin?(May I go?)" Arnav asked

"Go" Ratna said

First chapter...

I really can't comprehend how this came out!
