Natalia wanted to cry.

First she has a crush on a gay guy, then when she thought that it was bad enough, he has a boyfriend.

Then she was so fucking badly humiliated in front of the entire camp, she wanted to scream in anger.

And sadness.

But hey, Nico might be Bisexual, he just doesn't know it yet!

Natalia convinced herself that that was it. Nico is bisexual, it's just that he doesn't know it yet.

Pollux gritted his teeth at his ignorant sister.

"Hey, Pollux, do you think that Nico is Bisexual?" Natalia turned over in her bed to face her brother.

Pollux shrugged. "Then you'll have to see if Nico falls in love with a female, then if he does, he probably is either bisexual or pansexual," Pollux explained.

But Pollux only said that to make Natalia feel better.

Nico is so obviously gay and Natalia is so oblivious, Pollux wanted to strangle Natalia.

Natalia grabbed another piece of graphite and hauled herself over the edge of the lava wall.

She looked down at the others climbing up, and snickered at them for being slower than her. 

"You know, you shouldn't be that proud of yourself," someone said in distaste.

Natalia whipped her head around, and boom, there he is,  Nico di Angelo in his shirtless glory.

Natalia gaped at his well defined muscles and blushed heavily, turning into 60 shades of red. She was sure that Nico came up shirtless just for her, not because he maybe wanted to have a fun night later with his boyfriend.

Nico stared down at her. "What?" He demanded, and Natalia just shook her head furiously.

"Girl, you woke up at 3 in the afternoon, skipped most of your training, and used three hours to beat the lava wall," Nico frowned down at Natalia, who waved her hand in dismay. 

"Whatever, I finished it, and that's the point," Natalia scoffed.

Nico urged himself not to push her down the wall.

"Yeah, but you're nagging up the space, and an average person would've finished it in 20 minutes," And with that, Nico shadow traveled away, leaving a disgruntled Natalia.

"Wait hold up I have to get back down---" Natalia realized, and she screamed.

"Nicki-poo, will you give me a ride down?" Natalia cried down from the wall.

But Nico was gone already, and she was even more humiliated than before.

At least this time she only used an hour to get down.

"WHADDUP! CATCH UP, WOMAN!" a shadow that Natalia later knew was Harley screamed in her ear, and then jumped off the wall.

Natalia punched the wall with her fist, which she later regret because it hurt from bleeding.

Natalia shot a nasty look at William Solace when he and Nico stumbled out of the Hades cabin, disheveled and a too-small-Maroon 5 sweatshirt barely fitting him.

"Girl, everyone is watching you, stop glaring at Will like he stole the live of your life!" Pollux shoved Natalia in the arm.

Natalia begrudgingly stabbed her chicken.

"Maybe he did," Natalia grumbled.

Pollux rolled his eyes. "Natalia, they've dated since they were fourteen. You're just 16!"

"Yadadada. They're, what, fifteen? Dated a year?" Natalia snapped her fork.

Pollux rolled his eyes again. "Natalia, they've dated for four years now! They're eighteen!"

Natalia shoved a piece of chicken into his mouth. "Shush. I'll win him over," Natalia grinned.

"I have my ways, Pollux. Now eat that chicken, and I'll get him," Natalia grinned.

"Goo ge un ai er?" Pollux shrugged.

"Nico, say yes for 10 times," Natalia leaned on the cot and smiled.

Nico said that 10 times.

"Then spell it 5 times," Natalia twirled a lock of hair around her finger.

Nico did that too.

"Now answer me! Will you break up with William Solace! Three, two, one!" Natalia slammed a hand onto the desk.

"NO!" Nico gave Natalia a weird look. "Is that how you want me to break up with Will?"

Natalia got closer to Nico, and leaned in slightly. "Maybe," Natalia purred.

Nico shadow traveled away.

"UGH, YOU ALMOST GOT HIM!" Drew Tanaka sprang out from the closet.

Natalia sighed in defeat. "I dunno, Drew. I don't want to do it anymore. He loves Will! Not me!"

"Good thing you know that, Natalia, or you'd be dead by now," Will Solace leaned across the door frame,  "Nico doesn't appreciate it when people try too hard."

Natalia sipped on the coffee Will handed her.

"Why do you like Nico so much anyway?" Will asked.

Natalia shrugged. "I guess that he's just my type," Natalia wasn't sure of herself either.

"You said that like it's a question, Natalia," Will said.

"I-I don't know, I like him, a lot," Natalia confessed.

"Once someone catches my eye, it's like he suddenly became an obsession," Natalia shrugged.

"Hm," Will bit his bottom lip. "Nice talk, Natalia."

Then he walked out.

Natalia knew that she had no chance.

She also knew she's destined to do.

"I, Natalia Martinez, pledge myself to the goddess Artemis. I turn my back on the company of men, accept eternal maidenhood, and join the hunt," Natalia stood up slowly in front of Artemis, who nodded in approval.

Natalia knew that she was unlovable. She fell in love with so many people, and none of them ever returned her feelings.

She always hoped that one day, someone would.

No one ever did.

She was basically cursed.

But she knew that there must be a way, a solution to bring her out of this eternal loop of being rejected.

And now, with infinite years to live, a way to escape love, was Natalia's best choice.

She was never happier than now.
