Will: Song
I couldn't believe Nico actually thought my disappearance was his fault. He wasn't even close to joking. He was crying and everything. It.. it was so sad. I felt horrible for making him feel like this. It was my own fault I was kidnapped. I was said things I didn't mean and I left, going into territory I knew was dangerous. It wasn't his fault in the slightest. And it seemed like I wasn't going to be able to fully convince him.
"Okay," he mumbled, lifting his hands and trying to take my hands away. "Okay fine. It's not my fault."
I sighed, lowering my hands from his face. Nico rubbed his arm for a moment, both of us falling into an al,ost suffocating silence. We stood for a little while, fidgeting and trying to avoid any further eye contact until finally I gathered the courage to break the still air.
"So.. since I'm alive.. we're still getting married.."
Nico looked up at me, a light blush coating his pale cheeks. He tried to hide this by putting on a fake glare. "Yes.. your point?"
"We'll have to kiss.."
That made everything go quiet again. The pink on Nico's cheeks grew red. We stared at each other before Nico huffed and turned his red, turning in his lip. I'm not even sure why I brought that up. I just don't want to be caught off guard when the moment does come. Nico stayed quiet for a moment, staring at the ground.
"I know I'm the last person you'd want to kiss but-"
"I never said that."
I froze, looking up at Nico as he kept the same posture he had before. Slightly slouched with his head down and one arm gripping the other as a sign of him being nervous. It was almost as if he hadn't said anything. Was I going crazy?
"What...?"
"You heard me, idiot!" Nick snapped, his face still beet red. His knuckles turned white as he gripped his bicep harder. I was tempted to tell him to stop before he hurt himself. "I.. I don't care. I'll kiss you. Only because I pretty much have to."
I watched him for a moment before smirking. "I don't believe you."
He blinked, looking at me strangely before his gaze hardened. "What?"
"I don't believe you. I'm sure you'll chicken out before the wedding even starts."
"No I won't!" Nico raised his voice a little, obviously getting frustrated. He looked like an angry five year old. "I'll kiss the hell out of you!"
"Bet you won't."
"Bet I will."
"I still don't believe you. You're too much of a-"
Before I knew it, Nico had grabbed the collar of my suit and pulled me down. He smashed his lips into mine, gripping me with both hands. I tensed before finally processing what was happening and slowly kissing him back. I had no idea what I was doing and it was obvious Nico didn't either. We stayed in that forced kissing state for a moment before both pulling back for breath.
"T-Told you," he grumbled softly, turning away and crossing his arms.
I stared at him for a moment before smiling and crossing my arms too. "I still don't believe you."

It was after fifteen minutes of doing... what we were doing.. we both emerged from our little hiding area and joined the party again. I'm pretty sure Nico and I were still red as ripe cherries, but I didn't care. But Nico looked like he cared a little. His head was still facing down.
"What?" I asked, stopping him. "Is there something wrong with fiancés to kiss?"
He gave me a small glare, shoving me gently and muttering soft curses. I only chuckled. The rest of the night went fine. We socialized, well I socialized because everyone wanted to talk to me and see how I was doing. It did get annoying after a while, but there was nothing I could do. It would be "un-prince-like" if I told everyone who came near Nico and I to "Bug Off". Then my father came up to us. He gave us one look before smirking, turning and leaving. We didn't question it until much later.
The celebration was almost over. It was about an hour or so before it did. Nico and I have eaten and a few of our friends and relatives have gotten pretty drunk. Including Nico's stepmother, Persephone and his father Hades. It was pretty entertaining to see them try and flirt with each other or someone else then start arguing about nothing what so ever. Then my father came back.
"Guess what?!" He grinned. "I wrote a song!"
"Did you?" I asked nervously. Nico raised his eyebrow, looking at me in a confused manner. "What song."
"I gave it to the musicians. They're playing it-"
"Day and Night.
Light and Dark.
One full of Fright,
The other dear to the Heart."
"Playing right now. Enjoy." He then backed up into the crowd, grinning almost evilly at us. I gave Nico a look and we turned our attention to the band playing up ahead.
"When one royal soul from each side,
Are placed to be in love.
As I tell you this tale, keep your ears wide,
And make sure you don't miss a word."
No.. he didn't. I began searching the crowd for my father. I couldn't see him at all. Nico started at the band, his jaw slightly hanging. My father.. wrote a song about us. Oh wonderful.
"My oh my, what a sight.
The dear true love of Dark and Light.
My oh my, what a sight.
The times became one when Day met Night.
As fate would have it, the two souls fought,
Both disagreeing with every word.
I guess it seems that they cannot,
Seem to get along at all."
I couldn't help but chuckle. That was more than true. I don't know if he'd heard us fighting, seen it, or just simply heard of it. I glanced at Nico who still looked embarrassed.
"One fateful day, the Light soul vanished.
One blink, their gone.
As the two kingdoms cried and panicked,
The Dark soul knew it was their fault."
Nico blushed, several people in the crowd shooting the prince pity looks. He was obviously trying to ignore it. "How did he know..?" I heard him mutter to himself.
"My oh my, what a sight.
The dear true love of Dark and Light.
My oh my, what a sight.
The times became one when Day met Night.
After days of fear, the Light soul was found.
And back home they went.
Happy to see their royal safe and sound,
They through a celebration."
I raised my eyebrow again. Where was this song going?
"The two souls met up that night,
At the party, both dressed up well.
As they both snuck out of sight,
They finally were able to talk.
My oh my, what a sight.
The dear true love of Dark and Light.
My oh my, what a sight.
The times became one when Day met Night."
I blinked. How did Father know we snuck off? I'm so confused. Nico was obviously wondering the same thing.
"Day and Night,
Light and Dark.
Met under starlight,
From being torn apart.
Cloaked under the night's shadows,
The two souls spoke.
After small smiles were worn and tempers were rose,
The two souls shared their first kiss that night."
I felt my face heat up immediately. I began to search for my Father again. How?! How did he know that?! Nico covered his face and sputtered, the only sign that he was blushing was his beet red ears since his face was pretty much covered completely. Great. Now the world knew.
"My oh my, what a sight.
The dear true love of Dark and Light.
My oh my, what a sight.
The times became one when Day met Night.
My oh my, what a sight.
The souls, each now belonging to both Dark and Light.
My oh my, what a sight.
The times became one when Day met Night.
My oh my, what a sight....
Two hearts became one when Day met Night."
Finally. Finally the song was done. The crowd clapped loudly, cheers and whistles echoing from different people. The.. the song wasn't all that good. Nico was still desperately hiding himself from the eyes that surrounded us. I saw familiar faces, Hazel, Mother, Austin, Kayla, etc. they were all smiling at us. I groaned, grabbing Nico's arm and dragging him back into our little hiding place. This was ridiculous.
(Yes yes, I wrote the song. Sorry it sucks. It's the first song I've ever written and I have no melody to go with it. Oh well.)
