Will: Panic
Wedding plans were indeed, tiring. I wasn't "pass-out-in-my-bed-tired" like Mr. Death Boy (*gasp* He said the thing!) back in the castle, but I was drained. I decided to go take another walk around the kingdom. That always calmed me down. I borrowed a dagger from the weaponry (there were so many) and snuck outside. I knew something wasn't right the moment I got outside. Everyone was panicking, locking themselves in their houses or ducking under building roofs and such. And I knew why. The sun. It was slowly making it's way over the kingdom. How?! Why?! I turned and hurried to the bridge, already afraid of what I'd see. And I had the right to.
The moon was high above my castle, the whole kingdom showered in darkness. People were panicking and walking into things in a desperate attempt to get inside their houses or any kind of shelter. Why were the roles switching?! It was nighttime in the day kingdom yet day in the night kingdom?! Why?! I hurried back inside, rushing to find my parents. They were still huddled with Nico's parents in the sitting room.
"Mom! Mom, dad! The-The sun!" I had ran all the way from the bridge to here, which was a long time to run, and I was exhausted. I dropped once I reached the coffee table, resting my folded arms on it and trying to calm my breathing. Why wasn't Nico here with me?! Wasn't he at all concerned?! My mother kneeled next to me, rubbing my back.
"Yes yes, William. We know," she spoke gently as she tried to calm me. I was much too panicked to calm down. They know and they aren't worried?! "The times have shifted! The kingdoms were backwards! How is this not worth worrying about?!" I sputtered, sitting up to lock eyes with her. My mother just smiled and stroked my hair.
"It's how the times are reacting to your marriage. The universe is confused on who is controlling what. So it shifted, trying to settle it understands. It will do this until after the wedding itself," she explained. I was still so confused but I did manage to calm down a little. "We'll explain to the people what's going on. No lives are in danger so you don't have to worry."
I nodded slightly pulling myself to my feet and retreating back upstairs. The windows soaked in the sunlight, lighting up the hallways and making it so much easier to navigate. Now that I could see how the castle looked, it was actually quite nice. Simple yet elegant if that makes any sense. I found my way to a darker hallway I recognized as the one that led to Nico's room.
Why wasn't he worried? Surely he didn't know the reason for the sudden shift in time. Why wasn't he pestering our parents for answers? Maybe he already did? No way, we parted ways at the same time and I immediately went outside while he looked like he was going upstairs. Maybe he saw one of the windows? It just didn't make any sense.
There were so windows so I took one of the torches on the wall to help me. I fumbled around until I found a door. I opened a door and was immediately met with the familiar darkness of Nico's room. Not only that but the sound of soft snoring filled the once silent room. Was he asleep?! I quickly and quietly walked over to the bed, holding the torch over it. Nico was curled up in his bed, dead asleep. He was covered in piles of blankets and laying on piles of pillows that were placed around his head and body. It was.. Cute. Really cute.
"Well.. I guess you're not as worried," I whispered, not really wanting to disturb him from this peaceful state. He looked five years younger, sleeping like this. Hugging a pillow half the size of him and in a blanket cocoon. His hair covered his eyes and his pale lips were slightly parted and small snores were flowing from them. It was truly cute. And I was.. Marrying him.
"Rest well then," I whispered, bending over and leaving a small kiss on his temple. My face flushed after I pulled away and I hurried out of the room, wondering why I did that.
