Chapter 37 (Part 1)

Beep beep. Beep beep. I groaned as my alarm rang out. I squinted in the light, seeing the usual '6:00 am' on the clock on my bed side. I laid there a moment before remembering last night. I'm pretty sure I fell asleep when I was with Mathew, so that means he must've brought me home. I confirmed my suspicions when I noticed that I was wearing my cloths from last night.
This isn't fair. It's my 17th birthday, and I have to go to school. That's terrible. Absolutely horrid.
I got up and went groggily over to the mirror, almost gasping. My monstrosity called hair, was everywhere. I had severe bed head.
I quickly took a shower, got dressed, tamed the beast that I call my hair, and ate a bowl of cereal. I was just about to grab my car keys when I hear a car outside beep. I look out the window to see non other than Mathew in his small black car. I grabbed my backpack and rushed out the door, making sure to lock it.
I got in and put my bag in the backseat. I smiled softly at Mathew before buckling up. We talked as he drove.
"Thanks for the ride," I said.
"No problem. I was up early, so decided to stop and pick you up. I also got you coffee, because everyone likes coffee," he said, handing me a cup of hot, steamy goodness. I smiled as I drank some. Maybe today won't be so bad after all.

"You look.... A mix of bored and sad. What's up?" Kelly said, sitting next to me. We were waiting for the English teacher to arrive. She was always late.
"It's nothing," I said, trying to shrug it off.
"Just as Mathew said. Terrible liar," Kelly said with a smirk.
"Really, it's not that important," I say again, trying to change the subject. No one knows it's my birthday, and that's how I plan for it to stay.
"Are you Pinocchio? Cause your noes just grew," Kelly said, making me laugh.
"You have to promise not to tell anyone, and I'm serious. I don't want anyone to do anything," I said, holding out my pinky. She took it and nodded.
"It's my birthday, like I said, not that important," I said softly, making sure no one near us could hear. Little did I know, someone was listening to whole time.
"ITS YOUR WHAT?!" Kelly practically screamed, gaining the attention of the whole class.
"Shush your mouth!" I scolded. She quickly shut up as everyone went back to whatever they had been doing before Kelly's outburst.
"Why didn't you want to tell us? We're your friends!" Kelly exclaimed quietly.
"I didn't want to bother you with having to get me gifts! You guys are giving me the best thing I could ever have. Friendship," I say proudly to her. Her face softens as she hugs me.
"Did I miss something?" Mathew says, walking in and seeing us.
"It's Lil-" I spun around and clasped my hand over Kelly's mouth. Mathew looked at us weirdly as he sat down, never taking his eyes off us. I gave him a fake smile and shot a glare at Kelly.
I took my hand away from her mouth. She didn't say anything, just sat there, silently.
"Do I even want to know?" He asked.
"Nope," I say quickly, making him look suspicious.
---
"Food! Come to Papa," Aaron exclaimed as we walked into the schools cafeteria for lunch. We chuckled at his statement before sitting down. I sat next to Mathew and Kelly. She keeps sending me these 'tell them' glares, but I ignore them. I won't do it. I just won't.
"I have to grab something from my locker, I'll be right back," I said, getting up. I left my math note book in my locker, and I need it for next class.
"I wanna come!" Mathew exclaimed, jumping up and following me. I laughed at his childishness. We rounded the corner and I noticed my locker a few feet away. With Mathew behind me, I walked over to my locker and put in the code. Mathew leaned on the other side of the lockers.
I pulled up the lock and opened my locker. I expected books neatly folded and everything in place. What I got was practically a pound of slushy on my face. It was cherry. As in cherry red. I just had to decide on a white dress today. I was covered in the cherry slush. Mathews face turned to horror.
"Oh my gosh," he said. I wiped the slush out of my eyes and threw it to the floor. I know exactly who did this. I slammed my locker before fast walking to the cafeteria where the 'queen b' was. Take that statement however you like.
Mathew kept up, trying to get the bigger pieces out of my hair, which I was grateful for. People gasped in awe at me as I walked by, right up to her table. Lillian had gone to far. I don't even know how she did it.
"Oh my. A walking, talking, strawberry," she commented, making the table laugh at me. I was about to pounce at her before Mathew grabbed my wrists and pulled me back.
I was practically fuming. I'd had enough. This has to be the worst birthday ever.
"Why do you hate me so much, what did I ever do to you," I said, rage in my voice.
"I don't hate you, Dalian does. Take it up with him," she said, making me piece everything together. Dalian did this. I clenched my jaw before I turned on my heals and went strait to the bathroom.
How the heck do you get this crap out? Answer- you don't.
Howdy y'all. Wow, never saying that again. That's pretty much all I wanted to say for now, so bye!
