Chapter 29
Mathew
Sentence(s) of the chapter- Lilly soon replaced her smile with a frown and shut the door. Yes, she shut the door, in my face.
She didn't come and see me the next day, or the day after. I suppose I deserve it. There's no excuse for what I said to her. I know that. She hasn't talked to me via text either. Jess and Kelly say that she's fine, but they don't exactly sound positive on that.
I rejoiced when the doctor told me that I could leave. I knew what I was going to do when I get out of this stupid place. Go to Lilly's house, and apologize. I'm pretty sure that I ruined any chance I had with her. I accept that.
I quickly put some normal clothes on and ran out of the hospital, gladly stepping into the sunlight. Aaron had driven my car here for me, so I could drive when I got out of the hospital. I spotted it and went over, getting in and taking a second to appreciate my car. I soon snapped out of it though, realizing that I had somewhere to go. I started the car and drove off, hopefully never to go again.
---
I pulled into her driveway and shut off the car, sitting in it. How should I approach the matter? I think I might just wing it... I got out of the car and walked up to the door. I stood there for a moment, thinking on whether or not she would open the door. I made up my mind and knocked on the door. I heard rustling inside and the door opened.
Lilly soon replaced her smile with a frown and shut the door. Yes, she shut the door, in my face.
"Lilly? I understand that you probably don't want to see me right now, and I understand that. I know that what I said was wrong, and there's nothing I can say to justify it. I just wanted to apologize. Your not an attention seeker. Or a little girl. I don't know anyone who has sacrificed more than you, or is more mature than you. I understand if you don't want to be my friend." I finished. I sighed and waited. I was about to leave when the door open and Lilly came out. She stared into my eyes, and hugged me.
"Of course I want to still be your friend Mathew. Friends fight. I know you didn't mean what you said, that you were just upset. I think I over reacted. Thank you for apologizing. Shouldn't you be at the hospital?" She asked, pulling away from the hug. I was so relieved that she forgave me.
"I got out about an hour ago." I said. "I came to see you first, before I went to my house to greet my mom," I said. She smiled softly.
"I appreciate that. Thank you. I don't want to keep you from your mother," she said. I nodded my head, kissed her cheek, and was off to my house to meet my mother.
ஐLillyஐ
He nodded, kissed my cheek, and left. I was happy that he apologized. I wasn't that mad about it anymore.
---
A few hours later, I heard someone driving into our drive way. I looked out the window, and to my horror, it was her. Her and her nice car and nice clothing. She stepped out, fixed her purple blouse and white pencil skirt, and walked up to the door. Her perfect blond hair blew in the wind. I opened the door before she got there.
"Hello Lilly." She said, pushing past me into the house. "Where are your brothers," she asked.
"Why?" I said sternly. She had no right to be here.
"Seeing as there both the same age, there both heirs to the company. I'll be flying them out to Florida to learn how to run the business." She said.
"No. There not going," I said. "I won't let you take them," I said.
"Lilly Ann Lycaster, your not their mother, you do not make their decisions, I do. Where are they?" She asked again.
"Mom?" I heard two voices from upstairs.
"Come here boys," she said. They raced down the ramp and practically clung to her. "What are you doing? Get off," she said. They did as told and stood by me. "Boys, you're coming with me. Come along now," she said, gripping Timothy's arm and standing behind Brandon chair.
"No! You can't take them!" I yelled, pulling on Timothy's arm, but making sure I don't hurt him.
"I can and I will, young lady. Learn your place!" She said, kicking me to the floor. She knocked the wind out of me, and probably left me with a sprained ankle, on top of the one I already had. She soon rushed the boys out and took them away. I tried to get them, but I couldn't. I just laid on the floor, crying about the boys, about the pain in my wrist and ankle now. Child abuse doesn't exactly mean anything in this family.
I tried to get up, but between my wrist and my foot, I wasn't going anywhere soon. So, now that I had friends, I should use them huh? I got my phone out of my pocket and called Kelly. No answer. Jess. No answer. That left about one person. Mathew. I tried to stop the tears before I called, but soon have up on that.
"Hello?" I heard his voice on the other line. "Lilly?"
"H-hello," I sniffled.
"Are you okay? What's wrong?" He asked, worldly. I couldn't take it. I butted into my tears. "Lilly? I'm coming to your house. Be there soon," he said, hanging up. I rolled up my sleeve to try and hide my wrist, that was now forming a pretty large bruise. I was wearing a dress, so I couldn't help my ankle.
"Lilly?" He said, opening to door. He rushed to me and grabbed my wrist, trying to help me up. That cause me to pretty much cry out in pain. "Alright, won't do that again, what happened to you?" He asked. He grabbed my good wrist and used my waist to guide me over to the couch, where he set me down.
"She took them. The boys. My mother took the boys. There never coming back," I said, sobbing. He pulled me into his chest and rocked me back and forth.
Don't hate me...
---Maddie
