Chapter 2

Mathew
Sentence(s) of the chapter-             "Just asking, but those aren't your kids right," he said. I busted out laughing.
"No, no there not my kids. There my 6 year old brothers," I said, clutching my stomach.

I came to the park to clear my head. It was, somewhat, working. I smoked a few cigarettes while I was there, to calm my nerves. I stood in the nice shade of the trees. The shadows seemed to dance on the ground. I was watching a little girl, about 6, picking dandelions in a field. She picked one, observed it, the stood up and brushed off her bright orange dress. She ran/walked over to a bench where a girl was sitting, engrossed in a book. I couldn't see her face from here, but her hair was blonde and came down in nice curls that rested at her shoulders. She was wearing a light green dress with matching flats. The girl noticed the little one and put down her book, showing her visage. It was quite beautiful. She had a nice, round face. Freckles strategically placed around her cheeks and noes. She smiled at the little girl. I could hear there conversation. The little girl held out the flower for her.
"I picked this for you, cause your really pretty," she said in a baby voice. The woman took the flower and stuck it behind the girls ear, making the little one blush.
"Not as beautiful as you do," she said. The little one smiled before running off to her guardian. The woman just chuckled and looked around the park equipment. She looked like she was looking for someone, till she looked at me. She seemed like she was thinking about something. She put her book in a bag I didn't notice before, and stood up.
She started to walk over to me, and I was stunned, but didn't show it. I have to much pride for that. I squished my cigarette bud out with my foot and watched her golden hair bounce up and down on her shoulders. She walked over and circled me. She looked like a ball of sunshine, something I really didn't need in my life. She looked like she was arguing with herself.
"Hello," she said, holding out her hand. I just looked at it, then to her. I sent her one of those please-leave-me-alone glares, but I guess she didn't take the hint. She mumbled something I didn't understand before talking normally again. "I'm Lilly, what's your name?" She said. She had to look up cause she was short. She seemed way to happy.
"Mathew," I said, looking into her large green orbs. "Is there something I can help you with or are you just trying to screw with my day even more," I said more harshly then I expected. She looked unimpressed
"You just look like you need cheering up that's all," she said, connecting her hands behind her back.
"Well, it's none of your business," I snapped. I new I hit a nerve, but she only showed it for a second. Why was this girl so happy?
"True, true. You go to Jackson High School right?" She asked. Obviously, she has to if she asked that question. Then, I remembered where I knew her from. She looked sort of familiar.
"Yeah, I'm in some of your classes," I said, remembering her walking into class and answering every question known to man.
"I knew that's where I remembered your face!" She said, obviously feeling achieved.
"Lilly, Brandon's ready," I heard a little boy behind her say. She turned and 1 saw him looking back at another boy, but this one was in a wheelchair. He seemed to be looking at birds on the power line in front of him.
"Okay, go stay with him for a sec. I'll be there in a minuet," she said to him. He smiled and walked over to the kid in the wheel chair. I really hope those weren't her kids...
"Just asking, but those aren't your kids right?" I asked, very confused. She started laughing and my ears tingled. Her laugh was kind of adorable.
"No, no there not my kids. There my brothers," She said. She took In a deep breath before talking again. "I guess I'm being summoned. See you in school," she said, waving to me as she walked over to the boys. She started pushing the boy in the wheel chair over to the parking lot where they disappeared in the maze.
Second chapter! Starting to really love this book.
