Mayday! Mayday!
Georgie sits on the couch in the living room with Olive who was still living with her at the time. Olive still didn't feel safe even a few weeks later and Georgie honestly got the reason even though she didn't get why. Angelina had left the Stone's house so why was her empathic ability still warning her of danger?
was a pretty normal day and Georgie was enjoying her day off. That is until her dogs started barking. "Georgie something's up at the Stone's." Mira barks out worried as she sees Angelina run away with a baby. "Pumpkin, Angelina kidnapped Eden, let's go!" Mira says quickly running through the dog doora
Pumpkin's eyes widened with shock as she quickly ran to catch up with her younger sister and chase after Angelina. That made both Georgie and Olive both get up. Olive heard what they had said and tried to keep her panic at bay if Angelina had Eden something had to be wrong with her mother.
"Georgie, please go check on my mom. I have a feeling something bad happened if she didn't protect Eden. I'll go after the and dogs and call Aunt Mick while I'm at it. "Olive says as Georgie just nods, knowing Olive was right. Grace was a mama bear, something was terribly amiss with this scenario they were in.
As Olive went after the dogs and Angelina, Georgie went to the door of her friend's house instantly, noting that the Stone's door was ajar. She went in steeling herself for anything before looking for Grace,
"Grace," she called out quite loudly, she couldn't help the slight tremble in her voice. Her ability was going off the charts. Something was terribly wrong. That's when she heard a familiar choked voice say.
"In here!" Making Georgie look to the master bedroom. Instantly running up the stairs although the voice who had called her wasn't too familiar, even though she swore she had heard it before.
She got up to the master room where the voice came from and saw a trail of blood. Her blood runs cold and her heart sinks. This was a whole lot worse than she had originally thought. She followed the blood trail to Grace's side of the bed seeing her limp and a young adult boy who looked to be about Olive's age. Georgie froze up even though she knew this guy was familiar. She wasn't as trustful anymore.
"Oh my gosh Grace." Georgie said quietly as the boy looked up sadly Georgie felt frozen to the floor, fear and grief overtaking her. Her best friend, her mother figure, was dead she could feel it in every inch of her bones
"She's gone, there's nothing we can do about it." The broken voice of the teen said, making Georgie back up a bit as she still didn't trust this teen at all
"Who are you?" Georgie asked, still backing up a bit. The teen turned his face towards her and she saw the same eyes she knew well, she looked at the boy now turned teen in front of her. "Cal..." Georgie asked as Cal nods moving to get up, his shirt was covered in blood and he was so disheveled most of all he was the age he was meant to be!
"Yeah, it's me, sorry for scaring you. I forgot I'm grown up now..."Cal says as Georgie just looks at Cal still in shock. That is until Cal speaks again, "I can't believe Angelina did all this. Where are my sister, and your dogs?" Cal asks sadly he just wanted to see his sister, and the therapy dogs he had grown oh so close to. Georgie hesitates for a moment, still trying to process everything.
"My pups ran after Angelina, Olive followed. She told me to go check on Grace..." Georgie explains as Cal looks at her in panic for a moment. He then looks back to his mother seeing the knife in her stomach giving a sigh of relief because his sister's and Georgie dogs would not get hurt now, unless Angelina had another knife.
The room filled with an awkward silence, as Georgie and Cal looked at one another as neither had any idea of what to do now other than to wait for help to arrive as Cal had already nine one one. That's when Olive came in and both teen and young adult sucked in a breath knowing immediately who it was, Olive.
"Georgie, Mom, where are you!" She calls out as Georgie saw Mira run to the door and look at Georgie before seeing the body sensing she was already dead and whimpering. The dog quickly snuggled into Georgie's leg giving what comfort she could. Georgie and Cal looked at one another again.
"She'll take it better if you tell her, she'll freak out if she sees I was back to my normal age,'' Cal explains, breaking the moment of silence, as Georgie sighs, seeing his point and walking out of the bedroom. This was going to be hard especially since Olive meant the world to her. They were in this together before the passengers even came back.
"I'm here Olive..." Georgie says trying to keep her voice light and gentle as she walks down the stairs, but she couldn't help the sadness that leaked in, Olive just looked at her friend and babysitter in confusion. She never saw Georgie so devoid of her usual happiness, and kindness. Yes, some days were rough on her, but Georgie was never someone who let that get in the way, and usually just acted happy until she was either that or called her best friend and talked to her for a bit.
But the way she was acting was totally different from those times. "What's wrong?" Olive asks out of instinct and the way Georgie sighs and tells her everything she needs to know. Something happened to her mom. The only constant she had in her life other than Georgie who didn't even come into her life until she was a teen.
Well... two things... um Cal's now the same age as you and..." Georgie says looking down, seemingly trying to collect herself. Before completely going silent. Olive timidly comes closer, gently grabbing Georgie's hands in a way she hoped would calm Georgie a bit. P00000000 LLP
"Okay, what happened Georgie, what's going on." Olive asks, pressing on, Georgie looks sadly taking a shaky breath and Olive frowns deepen. Georgie never let her emotions show like this.
"Angelina killed... your mother." Georgie says as Georgie looked to Olive who looked at her, "Wait no, that can't be right." Olive says with tears in her eyes, as Georgie looked down, "I'm sorry..." Georgie says quietly. Olive stands there in disbelief; she knew it was bad, but never in a million years did she think she would hear that sentence.
"I lost my mom and we couldn't get Eden back." Olive says, starting to cry as she looks at Georgie hesitantly. She knew how much Georgie didn't like unwanted contact. Georgie sighs quietly looking at Pumpkin who she could tell had gotten beat up a bit by the way she was limping.
Swallowing up her own sadness, Georgie opened up her arms for Olive. She could process everything later, right now Olive and Cal needed her. She was literally the only one there with them at the moment, and she definitely wasn't leaving them alone. Helping people was her job, and she did that daily, and usually it was great. She loved cheering people up, but then came the darker part of the job, which she didn't share much with anyone as it was just sad.
Georgie had watched kids pass before, sometimes they were holding Pumpkin or Mira during their final breaths, sometimes they were gone before she could even get there. She was used to it by now, as living and dying was just a part of life, but this was different, she had only seen young and elderly pass away, never a middle aged healthy woman, and certainly not like this. This kind of stuff was the hardest part of her job anyways, but this was hands down the hardest.
Georgie sighs again as she hugs the younger girl and boy. After a few minutes of letting them hug her she led them over to the couch sitting on it herself as she was getting tired of holding the both of them up. Once she sat down she noticed something in Pumpkin's mouth. "Pumpkin, what's in your mouth?" Georgie questions as Pumpkin instantly came over and Georgie grabbed a plastic bag off the table and took the fabric from Pumpkin's mouth, making sure not to tamper with evidence.
Hopefully Drea and the police will be there soon. "Is that a part of Angelina's jacket?" she asks, as Pumpkin nods proudly. Georgie gave Pumpkin a warm smile glad some of Michaela's training stuck with her, "Good girl Diva Dog, Good girl." Georgie whispers. She felt so helpless right now. She was never a good comforter. That was her dog's job, not her, and nothing could have prepared her for today.
She sighs as the two teens just sit there heads on her shoulders. She had no idea what to do right now. She really didn't think that these two teens should have seen that, or still be there, but they needed to stay and wait for the police, or someone else in the Stone family to arrive. But even if someone came back home she probably still wouldn't be able to take the two teens anywhere, especially if she had to try to talk Ben out of potentially killing someone. That's when she heard a knock on the door. Before she could even say "Come in" though it was kicked open
"Well at least Michaela's here now." Georgie thought to herself as Michalea came in. "Cal, are you alright? We had a call..." Michaela quickly says before stopping in her tracks at seeing an older teenager, and both teenagers are still crying on Georgie. "What happened?" Michaela and her husband Zeke ask in unison.
Georgie sighs, as she explained what she knew about the matter, Michaela was scribbling it down on her notepad even though she wasn't a police officer she wanted to make sure Drea had everything she needed.
Because like Georgie Michaela had work to do. "And you're sure it was Angelina making Georgie and the two teens groan, "I'm sure it's Angelina! We literally saw her." Georgie says as she was tired of getting asked if she was sure it was Angelina.
"Mick, I'm telling you she doesn't have good intentions." Zeke says as he could tell that the tension was rising due to his empathetic powers. Georgie just nods her head to Zeke in thanks,
"Yeah, and her mental health is all the way down the drain once Pete died." Georgie told Michaela as the police finally got there, and instantly went to the master room where they found Grace of course dead, and started questioning them. All of them answered the questions the best of their abilities for not exactly being there to see it, and once the police seem satisfied they leave, taking the body with them, but Georgie knew that was not going to be the end of her Ben had yet to come home, and she knew he would kill someone once he heard, and even though Michaela and Zeke were still there the teens begged her to stay so she did.
That, and it was going to take Michaela, Zeke, Saanvi, and herself to keep Ben from doing something that he would regret later. "I am not looking forward to when Ben comes home." Michalea finally spoke sadly as the teens just continued to lie their heads on Georgie's shoulder starting to fall asleep. The terror of today gnawingat them.
"Me neither, but he has to know, I mean she was his wife. But I admit I'm not looking forward to him yelling." Georgie says as Michaela and Zeke nod. Finally the door opened for the last time, and Ben and Saanvi came in. The three adults look at one another as Michaela sighs, and gets up
"I'll tell him, he is my brother." Georgie, will you stay with them?" Michaela whispers quietly as Georgie nods looking at the teens who were still on her shoulder fast asleep she was quite a bit uncomfortable with it, but she also didn't want to move
"I don't think I have much of a choice, I don't want to move them." Georgie says letting a sad smile graced her lips. She felt so bad for everyone in this family. Even though she didn't know exactly what she was doing she was just glad she seemed to be of some comfort.
Her thoughts were interrupted by yelling and the two teens jolting awake. "Dad's home." Olive says her question even though it came out more as a statement,
"He must be, and I have a feeling all heck is going to break loose in a minute." Cal says as they all know their father very well. That's when Ben came into the room looking as angry as a rhino, and Georgie could tell even though he was saddened that he was only seeing red. Which wasn't good. Ben was a lot like her, and calm in many ways, so when he got this mad it was bad. And Georgie was almost ready to hear the yelling fit he would 2most likely throw at her. This wasn't her first rodeo is eafter all, and she knew that Ben would probably yell at her, calm down and everything would go fine, but she was so, so wrong.
Georgie slowly stands up looking at Ben, "I'm so sorry for your loss she says sympathy in her voice. She tried her best not to sound nervous at the thought of Ben's wrath.
"You should be, you should have stopped this, but you let her die." Georgie just sighs, easily deciding to just let him continue as if she said anything it could make things a lot worse. She could tell Olive wanted to butt in but she just put her hand up so they knew she didn't want them to say anything, not yet any ways.
Georgie just continued to listen to him yell, sometimes tuning him out. Finally he seemed to calm down a bit and Georgie thought that was it, but she was wrong again. "You know I wish you could be more helpful. Whenever you try to help, you always end up making it worse!" Ben yells out as Georgie recoils a bit, as that is what her father told her right before she headed off to the Cinderella play and when she went off to New York. And even though it's been a few years it still made her feel bad.
Georgie sighs looking at her pups with what the pups knew as "Let's go now." Both dogs just nod, "I'm just going to go, and let you calm down... You guys know where we'll be if you need us. Georgie says quickly turning towards the door, the dogs did not hesitate and quickly followed as they felt Georgie's unease.
"I don't want to see you in my house again." Ben shouted to her as Georgie sighs, closing the door. She knew Ben didn't mean any of that, but it was still going to bug her. Why did she volunteer for such a hard job? She should have just stuck with what she was comfortable with, and a job that didn't have the potential danger. Georgie was definitely reconsidering staying here. She could do so much in other places as well.
Georgie shook her head. She would have to think about this when she was in a better mind set. Right now she has a headache and is stressed and tired. Today has been crazy. When she opened the door of her home she heard a noise making both dogs immediately growl and Georgie grabbing an umbrella, "Who's there!!" Georgie called out as she was ready to clock whoever it was with an umbrella as she didn't know who was in her house.
