Gunfire
"Ugh, I can't find anything that connects our new fate to the rest of our theory!" Georgie told Drea with a groan. It was a little past ten pm and Eden was sleeping in her bed with Olive watching her as the two adults worked on getting this story straight.
"I know we've literally been working on this for days now, and we still haven't figured out the tiny bit that is so crucial for us. " Drea says, looking at Nala who yawned. That's when Drea heard a noise that startled her a noise that made her grimace. "Get down!" she calls to Georgie as she drops to the floor by the edge of Georgie's bed. The slightly younger women quickly do the same.
"Dang it, they found where we live. Pumpkin, Mira gets Eden to safety now," Georgie calls, making the two get up and run to the room. Nala on the other hand just growls from her spot near the two not happy with the fact her people were in danger.
Drea quickly grabbed her gun, handing the extra she held to Georgie. The younger of the two looks at Drea waiting for her cue.
Within a moment they got into position to shoot. Georgie watches for any sign of movement. "Remember G, if it comes down to it." Drea started nervously as Georgie nodded.
"It's kill or be killed I know.." Georgie says reluctantly. She is going to get into so much trouble with the law if it actually happened, but she continued aiming and shooting anyway. Soon the gun fire ceased for just a moment, but Georgie and Drea didn't fall for the trick and stayed down.
"G he's getting closer, and he's not alone. He has a dog with him," Drea whispered almost barely audible in the tense room. Georgie nods, keeping her gun trained on the outside just in case. "He's gonna break in, and we'll meet him there, I'm going to head around the long way to the door. Nala will be a distraction, you stay here." Drea tells Georgie already heading out of her bedroom. Georgie quickly stops her though.
2"I'm not letting you do it alone," She says, eyes set on helping. Drea groans but nods she knew she could argue right now. There was no time to. "Nala go!" Drea whispers out and Nala nods, and goes off quickly, stealthily entering the kitchen area. Drea then turns back to Georgie "Alright, let's go, b. ut we need to be careful. You go the back way, I'll go the front. Do you have my back if he tries to shoot?" Drea asks as Georgie nods.
"Always, we're a team now. I'm not going to let anyone harm you now let's go!" Georgie says as she quickly heads around the dining room area as Drea went the other way around.
"NYPD put your hands up." Drea said once they were in position. The guy doesn't put the gun down though instead he glances at the black lab that was vaguely familiar to Drea and smiles thinking he easily had her beat
"Tank attack," he said, but the dog shook his head no. Looking at Drea hopefully. The brunette couldn't help, but smile at her boy. His hesitation and looking for her command proves it was him. "Go on attack!" The man urges kicking him. The black dog once again held out looking at Drea with hopefulness. That's when Drea saw Georgie come up behind the man and she smirks. The man finally shoots though and Drea barely has time to dodge. She lands on the ground wrong and she can feel it. The man then turns around and goes to shoot Georgie.
Georgie froze and Drea groaned and kicked the man's leg as she quickly recovered. She knew Georgie was still new to doing the kill or be killed lifestyle, but did she really have to freeze up now of all times. Thankfully the black lab remembers what she taught him, and within a moment the dog knocked him over with a knife now stuck in the man's thigh. Georgie finally snaps out of her frozen state and shoots him.
Drea scrambles to him checking for a pulse. "He's gone," she breathes out before turning to the black lab, "Thank gosh, it was you Tomo otherwise we both would've been dead. Thank you good boy," Drea murmurs to the black lab.
"Alright, that was terrifying." Georgie says and Drea nods in agreement as she looks at Georgie and simply hugs her that was too close for both of them. Drea takes a few deep bre as this before finally letting go looking back to Tomo.
"What should we do with the body? Drea asks as Georgie shrugs, looking at the person that was now dead on the floor. She had no idea what to do with it. Maybe the callings would though.
"Callings some help?" Georgie asks, but instead of helping, the calling dragged both of them to the park. Where they see a shadow trying to consume them. "It's not over, it's not over, it's not over." The calling bellows before their both back in their groaning at the fact more people were out to get them.
"He's not the only one," They both say with a shudder. "But we need to make this guy disappear. Same with the blood. Edens is probably so scared, I don't want to scare her more with a stranger that is dead." Georgie says before a glowing light surrounded the body, and it disappeared.
"Thanks calling," Drea says as Georgie rolls her eyes she wasn't even phased by it anymore.
"Alright calling. So you can make blood and a person disappear but when it comes to the window I have to end up paying for it?" Georgie asks somewhat madly. As Drea could not help but laugh this was the ninth time that Georgie would have to fix one of her windows and well she felt for the young woman it was also kind of funny
"Come on, let's go check on Eden and Olive." Drea says as Georgie nods heading to their office, the safe room. They can both hear crying as they get closer to it and sigh. It was going to be impossible getting Eden back to bed. They just open the door revealing the two sisters huddled up together in the closet of their work room.
"Aunt Georgie! That was so scary! What happened!" Eden asks, latching on to Georgie who winces. Her shoulder was really starting to hurt her. She hoped Drea didn't see but the slightly older woman's eyebrows furrowed with worry. Dang the brunette was too observant for her own good
"Miss George, are you okay!" Olive asks, sitting down on the floor and hugging her friend who just nods. Eden was crying on her and Olive looked like she was about to too.
"Shh, it's okay, I'm okay, it's all taken care of. I'm sorry it scared you. Shh." Georgie reassures, rocking both girls back and forth as best she could. Olive eventually got up again after calming down as Georgie sighs looking at Eden who was finally falling back to sleep.
"Eden, auntie's going to go back to bed now okay." Georgie asks as the child nods sluggishly. Georgie just puts her back in bed kissing the girl's forehead. "Goodnight Eden I love you." Georgie says ,as Eden yawns snuggling in her bed, Pumpkin quickly curls up against her to protect the girl.
"Goodnight Auntie," Eden says as Georgie smiles, closing the door and leaving the room, going back to her own room where Drea and Olive were still talking about the myth.
"Good work earlier, Georgie. We've got him, but are you okay? He did get a good shot in at you and it looks like you're hurting." Drea mutters and Georgie groans before nodding.
"I'm fine, I think the bullet proof vest did its job." Georgie says as Drea nods looking to her shoulder that Drea saw a hole in the fabric.
"Yeah it did, very well. It looks like a bullet entered your left shoulder." Drea says as Georgie looks down. She had been too busy to realize. But now she was starting to feel her shoulder throb a little.
"Well that explains why my shoulder is starting to hurt." Georgie says as Drea nods, helping Georgie take her bulletproof vest off to access the damage. Georgie just tries not to wince. Not wanting to let her friend know how much it was hurting her, but it hurt like hell.
"Oh that's definitely not the worst I've seen, but it's not the best either. That must hurt a lot." Drea says as Georgie winces when Drea touches her shoulder.
"It's not that bad, better than being shot in the shoulder I'm sure." Georgie says, trying to play it off. Olive and Drea both give her a look as Nala whimpers nuzzling Georgie. "Alright fine it hurts a lot, but I'll be fine" Georgie says as Olive walks out. Grabbing some ice for Georgie's shoulder.
"Here Miss Georgie put this on it. It will help with swelling. " Olive says as Georgie just nods thankfully, putting it on her shoulder carefully.
"I would and should say we should go to the hospital, but since you could be at risk going there I would say just take it easy for a few weeks. It's possible that you sprained your collarbone. I have a sling from when I broke my collarbone, and I suggest not carrying too much weight." Drea says as Georgie looks to Drea as if she was crazy.
"I have a five year old. I'm pretty sure not taking it easy and heavy lifting is part of that job." Georgie says as Drea chuckles at Georgie .
"I can handle her, besides I'm going to have Tomo to help." Drea says finally acknowledging the black lab who was sitting quietly in the corner. "Our lives are still in danger. There is still more for us to do together…" Drea started as Georgie sighs and nods
"I know, but as long as we're together. I'm sure we'll be fine." Georgie says and Drea nods slowly looking back over to her now two dogs.
"Let's get some sleep, we all deserve it." Drea spoke slowly and for once Georgie agreed as she went to get stuff to change into. Drea just offers a smile before turning back to her room.
"Good night Georgie sleep well." The slightly older one whispers before leading Tomo into her room meanwhile Nala stays with Georgie as protection.
"Night Drea," Georgie mutters watching her friend leave. It was easy to say neither would get much sleep tonight
