Angelina Meyer
"Come on Georgie, stop reading that book and let's go out and have some fun. It is girl's day after all." Grace says snatching the book from Georgie's hands. The young woman just lets out an irritated groan.
"Grace, Ben asked me to find an answer to why Zeke is still alive. I can't do that if I'm hanging out with you and Olive." Georgie says, trying to snatch her book back.
"Ah uh, we've been living in a dark place since the plane returned between the Major, UDS and the Xer's. Let's take a break and have fun for the day." Grace says and Georgie huffs. "Listen, Michaela is on her honeymoon. Ben is doing something. And we're going over to Drea's to convince her to go." Grace says and Georgie rolls her eyes.
"Good luck with that, the Captain has been doubling Drea's work load since Michaela has been on her honeymoon." Georgie says and Grace smiles at hearing that Georgie was keeping up with the young detective.
"Well we're going to try. Come on." Grace says pulling Georgie to the car. Eden on her side. Georgie just rolls her eyes, but gets into the car.
……..
Drea come on, open up, we see your car in the driveway!" Grace calls through Drea's closed doorway. Georgie could hear a grunt as footsteps quickly came to the door, and Drea opened it. The young detective looked horrible. There was a gash on her right cheek and her right eye was bruised.
"Drea, what happened to you!" Grace asks the woman in shock she knew that her sister in law and friend had a rough job, but Michaela has never come home looking like that.
"Oh um… someone rear ended me and my car ended up crashing into a tree, but I'm fine. Trust me, I have had way worse. Anyways, what do you all need?" Drea asks curiously as she puts the ice pack back over her eye.
"We were going to have a girls' day and shop for some baby clothes and other stores. Would you like to come?" Grace rambles and Drea just looks at the two with her good eye. She was not sure about going out looking like this, but she also knew Grace. Grace would not take no for an answer.
"I would love to." Drea says forcing on her happy and confident facade despite being tired and hungry. Both Grace and Georgie furrow their eyebrows and look at Drea as if she is some sort of puzzle. Which Drea didn't like.
"Are you sure D? It looks like you need to be resting." Georgie spoke skeptically and Drea rolled her eyes, although she really wanted to admit Georgie was right and sit down on her bland couch.
"I'm good G. Besides, it's not often that we actually all have time off so let's enjoy it!" Drea says faking excitement. Don't get her wrong, she loved spending time with them. Just not when her head was throbbing and she could only see out of one eye.
"Okay then come on, this is going to be so fun." Grace says giddily and both younger women look at one another then back to their friend. They had to do this for Grace and Olive. Put their work aside and hang out. No matter how much both women didn't want to.
Grace meant the world to both of them. She was so caring and just wanted to have a fun girl's day which they haven't been able to give her lately with everyone's work schedule. They couldn't turn her down, especially since it makes her so happy. They walk out to the car where Olive was waiting with Eden.
Drea looks at the car uncomfortably. She hasn't been in a car full of people since the last time she saw her family, and it was slightly overwhelming. "Georgie, do you mind if I sit up front?" She questions looking at her slightly younger ally with a little Zazinsecurity in her eyes.
Georgie nods quickly, she could tell Drea was a bit uncomfortable with this situation, just like she used to be, and even though they weren't friends. Georgie wanted to help make Drea comfortable for their first girl's day especially since she was injured.
………
They were enjoying their time at a mall when Drea gets a phone call from a very shaken Michaela. She of course answers it pausing her brisk walk. "Hey Mick what's up," Drea asks curiously. The three others look at her. "Mick, I'm not in the precinct right now, and there is no way I'm going back right now. Can this wait, or can you do it through the phone?" Drea asks, and Georgie motions her and Georgie to the one bathroom nearby and close and locks the door.
"What's going on D, can you put the phone on speaker?" Georgie asks and Drea nods as she taps the speaker phone for Michaelas ramblings could be heard by Georgie, Grace and Olive.
"Okay D I sent you a photo of her. I need facial recognition pronto, and also need to know where her parents live!" Michaela says and Drea nods, pulling her app up and scanning the picture, taking a breath as her phone starts beeping.
"Alright I found her. Her name is Angelina Meyer, she actually lives about twenty miles away from where you're honeymooning." Drea says in confusion she had no idea what Michaela needed this information for.
"I know you're confused, but it's complicated. I'll explain when I get back okay?" Michaela says and Drea's smile falters and she looks oddly hurt.
"Um yeah, okay I'll send you coordinates now, bye." Drea says quietly as she ends the phone call. "She still doesn't trust me?" Drea asks herself quietly enough for the others to hear. Georgie just looks at Drea worriedly; she didn't know why Drea was suddenly sad. This woman was so complex. Georgie didn't know that Drea hadn't known about the callings.
I'm getting tired and I'm very sore. Do you mind if we cut this short," Drea asks quietly. It wasn't a false statement, her head was throbbing and she was feeling a bit shaky, but she mainly wanted to go home so that she could process everything.
Grace just nods looking at Drea worriedly. The young woman definitely didn't look the best and she kind of felt bad for bringing her in the first place. "Yeah of course, Drea you don't look well do you really want to go home alone. Both Georgie and I have another room if you need to stay with one of us." Grace says and Drea shook her head no.
"I'll be fine Grace, nothing a little bit of rest won't fix." Drea reassures her voice sounding much closer to breaking. Grace just sighs. Drea could be more stubborn than Georgie was at times which told her something. Maybe that's why the callings wanted them together, two stubborn people against whatever the heck was going on. Sounded like something that could honestly work.
"Alright, if you're sure. But if you need anything, call. I don't like you being all alone in this apartment when you could easily have a minor concussion. " Grace says and Drea nods before opening her car door and going up to her apartment.
"Something is going on with Drea and Michaela." Georgie spoke and the two nod in agreement.
"I agree Drea didn't start feeling unwell until after Aunt Michaela called. I don't think Drea knows about the callings if she did she wouldn't be so confused," Olive says looking at where the older woman had left.
"Why wouldn't Michaela have told her that. Drea has been working with us for over a year and has proven to be trustworthy even to Georgie who barely trusted anyone before us. No wonder Drea is so upset she knows Mick is hiding something, but she doesn't know what and it's bending her trust." Grace says and Georgie nods.
"Well Michaela needs to tell her soon otherwise we're going to lose a valuable ally. I mean Drea is pretty much a spy if she actually knew what was going on we would have a lot more information than we do now. Besides, Michaela claims that Drea is her best friend yet is still keeping the biggest secret from her." Olive says and Grace and Georgie nod. Drea did deserve to know she has followed Michaela pretty much blindly since meeting her. She has proven to be loyal and she wouldn't go against them.
"As they walk to their respective homes Olive notices something. There was a new visitor at her house, Angelina Meyer, and that woman was about to ruin her entire life.
