You're My Aunt
Again I promise I'm working on other chapters of other stories. Anyways I hope you enjoy, and that this was accurate I just used how the toddlers I watch speak and act. Anyways I hope you enjoy if you do vote and comment 💖
Georgie sighs looking at the two year old girl asleep in her lap. She was in one of the extra rooms of the Stones house with a two year old Eden in her lap. As she typed away. Ben had left on another calling that involved Michaela and Zeke. So she was now watching the two year old
Georgie was still getting use to taking on the job of helping with a toddler, and being a guardian of her. Georgie never thought that her worst nightmare would come true, and she definitely didn't think she was ready to take care of Eden. Ben was still around, but he always had more important stuff to do same with the rest of the family which left her as the caretaker.
Georgie just sighs trying to concentrate on working. When the door opened. "It's just Drea!" Drea calls out as Georgie nods letting her slightly tense self relax.
"Hey it's been awhile how are you D! " Georgie calls out quietly as Drea nods quietly hugging Georgie as not to wake the three year old.
"Neither you or Michaela can leave me again. I can't believe I'm admitting this, but life is boring especially when you're paired with someone who only talks about miniature trains." Drea says as Georgie chuckles.
"And your not leaving me again. You're the only one I can talk to you about toddler struggles at this point, and I seriously need another researcher." Georgie says as Drea nods.
"Let me guess they had another calling? " Drea asks as Georgie nods.
"Yep, called me up and left me in the dust. I would take her to my house, but I'm still working on getting the original playroom into a toddler proof room, along with the rest of my house. While being extra careful because I'm being targeted." Georgie says with an eye roll.
"Need some company, I'm off work today." Drea says as Georgie nods. Mankind some room for Drea on the bed she was sitting
"That'd be great." Georgie says powering off her laptop so that she could take a break and talk to Drea.
"So how's the whole raising Eden thing going." Drea asks as she knew Georgie was struggling with taking care of the two year old. Georgie just sighs look at the child whose head was on her lap.
"Not very well Eden still can't talk very well, and I can barely understand her. Grace was able to understand exactly. I still don't know why they chose me to care for a toddler. I never saw myself as a parental figure. I never wanted kids, and I've never liked kids." Georgie says as Drea nods.
"Why can't you just admit you're good with children? Olive literally loves you she told me that you always took babysat her and that she had so much fun." Drea says as Georgie sighs.
"It's different now though, Olive was thirteen Eden is two. That's an eleven years difference, and I can't be a good caretaker for a little child. Especially when I'm being targeted. " Georgie says, "I have so much on my mind, she is such a troublemaker, and I make her so upset when I can't understand her. I can't do what Grace did. I only ever helped with Eden. Now I'm literally trying to scramble how to figure out what the heck I'm doing." Georgie admits letting her insecurities go as Drea nods.
She understood that Georgie was still adjusting to the idea, and she was having some reasonable doubt. "We lost a lot lately Georgie, and I understand your doubt, but Eden loves you. It's true you're not Grace, but you're you. It's impossible for you to be Grace. I'm sure you will do great with Eden. They trust you for a reason, and only you see how well you handle kids." Drea says as Georgie nods.
"I know, but still I'm probably doing something wrong." Georgie says as she slumps down on the bed. That right when Eden woke up
"Huwts!" The child cried as Georgie looked to the girl and sighs, she had no idea what was hurting Eden. She was fine a few minutes ago. Georgie just gently put Eden down on the floor.
"I'll be right back Bean, Drea watch her for a minute." Georgie says going to the kitchen as she realizes that Eden was getting her 2 year old molars in. Grace had told her about them and Georgie had looked it up on the internet. She just quickly wets a cloth before ringing it out. Bringing it back up the stairs.
She hands it to Eden who instantly starts chewing on it as Georgie sat on the bed next to Drea. "Well I think you're doing a great job. I mean you apparently know what you're doing ." Drea says as Georgie rolls her eyes.
"Thanks to google and my obsession with going to the library." Georgie says with a laugh. As Drea laughs along with her. Before Eden started reaching her hands up towards Georgie.
"Aunie upie!" Eden calls out trying to climb up on the bed, but lands back on the floor with a thump. She looks up at Georgie making Drea smile as Georgie chuckles and picks up the toddler and puts her on the bed. Grabbing a coloring book and some crayons.
"She calls you auntie? That's so adorable you must be doing something right!" Drea says as Georgie rolls her eyes.
"No, shes talking about her Auntie Mic right Eden?" Georgie asks the toddler who shook her head no. She was thinking of Georgie. Georgie had always been the one that took care of her, and had fun with her. While she rarely saw any of her other family.
"No! Yo mwy aunie!" Eden calls out as Georgie looks at Eden in surprise. All this time Georgie had thought the two year old was talking about Michaela. When she had been talking about her the whole time.
"Really Eden?" Georgie asks still in disbelief as Eden nods happily.
"Yeah! Yo may Aunie Jogie, and twats dwea!" Eden calls out excitedly as Georgie smiles. She didn't know why, but it helped her thoughts come to rest. She didn't know if it was the shock or the reassurance that she was doing something right. She never imagined being an aunt especially since she had no siblings, but she wasn't expecting raising a child and being targeted either. Things really did change!
Eden just started scribbling on the paper as Georgie watched looking to Drea. "I can't believe she actually thinks I'm her Aunt." Georgie says to Drea who smiles and chuckles she knew Georgie was surprised, but Drea had no doubt that Eden thought of her like that since Georgie was basically raising her.
"Like I said your doing great and being called auntie says something. Again I know a lot has happened, but you'll be great at helping to raise her Grace chose you for a reason. And if you need me I'll always be around. " Drea says with a smile as Georgie nods.
"You're right, and I'll get use to taking care of her and the new name... eventually. " Georgie says as Drea nods for once enjoying a pretty quiet day.
