We Did What We Had To Part 2

After the curse is broken. Drea is trying to find herself in a world that was back to normal. She wasn't the same she had been scarred and beaten down it was a miracle she and her friends had survived, and when her best friend and teammate Michaela finally came home the two friends get into a much needed conversation,

Another part in Drea's POV enjoy 💖

Drea wasn't used to the calmness, she wasn't used to the fact that it could be semi quiet, and the things she did hear were happy squeals and talking. It had just been her and Georgie fighting for their friends' sake. It used to be so eerie even with Eden around because you didn't know what was around them and how dangerous it could be.

She still drew her gun at the slightest noise that was off. And that's how she found Michaela in her room. "Don't shoot Mikami it's just me Michaela tells Drea who just seems to tense up some more. Since they were visibly alone Drea had only talked to Michaela with Georgie around and she wasn't quite ready to have a conversation one on one because even though she acted like Michaela's leaving didn't affect her. It really did and hurt her as a few weeks before Michaela had promised not to leave her in the dark.

She knew they had to do it for the callings, but she could have at least told her. She still wondered if Michaela even trusted her. Yes, Michaela told her about the calling situation, but everything else Georgie and Olive had to fill her in on. She followed Michaela blindly at one point, but maybe it wasn't any was of that. Drea didn't know and it made it hard to talk to her even while Georgie was around lest right now when Georgie was out wit Ben and Eden for the day.

"Oh I'm so sorry Mick, old habits die hard I guess Drea stutters out looking at the dog lying in the gap of her criss crossed legs. Michaela just smiles faintly at Drea.

"Trust me I understand that..." Michaela says before trailing off. Leaving the two in an awkward silence "Um D can we talk. I don't think I've got time alone with you since I came home, and you seem so different than I remember... and a lot less talkative." Michaela says and Drea sighs but nods patting her bed.

"Yeah sure." Drea says scooting over just a bit to create more room. Michaela sat beside her and once again a weird silence came over them that usually never persisted with the two since their first stakeout nearly four years ago.

"So I made quite a lot of money on stakeouts." Drea states slyly trying to break the silence with something they both knew and Michaela instantly takes it not liking the silence either.

"Oh really what innocent people did you squander money from this time" Michaela asks shoving Drea's shoulder playfully Drea just laughs before Michaela sigh. "You've been avoiding me D." Michaela says letting hurt sleep into her voice. Drea was ready to deny it but when she opens her mouth Michaela interrupts.

"Drea I know you are. Drea you may be talking to me unlike Georgie was at first, but you're withdrawn especially when Georgie is not around whenever I try to talk to you when you're alone you're quiet and ,,more reserved. You aren't making any jokes or even talking, you literally just nod your head or Nala suddenly wants a walk. What's going on?" Michaela asks as Drea shrugs.

"You didn't trust me enough to tell me where you were even going. I thought four weeks before we left. We agreed not to keep that kind of stuff from each other." Drea says quietly and Michaela immediately realized that although Drea understood and didn't care that they left she was kept out of the loop and that Michaela had lied straight to her face.

Michaela instantly wondered if she broke Drea's own trust. Maybe that was why she was so quiet. "I'm sorry Drea, I should have told you. I trust you more than anyone in the world other than Ben and maybe Georgie." Michaela says nudging Drea again who just gives a small smile but then winces as she moves her neck. It still hurt from when the gems threw her against the cave. She tried to hide it from Michaela but of course the younger no

"Hey you okay." Michaela asks and Drea Drea says yes in sign language so as to not bother her neck any farther. That's when Michaela noticed the dark purple on her friend's neck

"What happened to your neck? Michaela asks, carefully accessing Drea's bruised neck. Drea just sighs, wincing a bit under Michaela's touch.

"You did what you had. While we did what we had to to survive everything. I have so many scars from everything gunshot to car crashes. The neck injury was from when we put all the gems together and hit the cave hard roughly Georgie probably has one as well." Drea told Mick who smiles and hugs her.

This catches Drea off guard she wasn't a big hugger and had only ever hugged Michaela once. Not even Georgie really hugged her usually they only high five or fist bump, but after a moment's hesitation she returned the hug. "What was that for?" Drea questions

"You risked your life for us so many times despite the fact we lied to you flat out so many times and left without even telling you. I'm so sorry D I trust you so much yet I broke your trust and you your third musketeer abandoned you. I'm making a new promise and I'll keep it I swear. I promise I'll tell you of anything that may pertain to you. And I promise I will not leave when you need me most..." Michaela rambled out causing Drea to smirk along with put her hand up.

"Mick, do you have my back?" Drea interrupts as this was her real question and also referring to the question Michaela had asked her so many years ago Mick just looks up and nods

"Of course." Michaela says with a slight smile remembering the same time Drea was remembering that was before Grace died before everything went down. Before she left and accidentally hurt her two best friends. Drea just offers another smile and nods

"That's all I need. Mick, that's seriously all I needed to hear. I know that we did what we had to do, but now if the three musketeers are to work together I needed to know that you wouldn't just straight abandon us again." Drea says as Michaela nods.

"From now it will be the three musketeers for good nothing can separate us anymore I promise D." Michaela says and Drea nods.

Little did they know that the callings were going to change their lives again and instead of just the three musketeers they were going to be Gem Keepers due to the fact they had that strong bond.
