Toddler Troubles
"Libby!" Eden cries out in frustration as Georgie closes her eyes in frustration as well. She had no idea what the toddler wanted so she tried her cup and most of her toys and she was so frustrated that most of it wasn't even the toddler's fault. The Stone's had left in the middle of the night three days and left her a note saying she was in charge of Eden. Which Grace had wanted, but Georgie was not ready for, especially not when she was struggling with keeping herself away from danger. Now she had a toddler to think of. The Stone's abandoned her with just a note they didn't even say goodbye.
"Eden I'm sorry. I don't know what you want." Georgie says quietly, looking down. "Wan Libby." Eden says again as Georgie sighs it still hasn't made any since. Why was she ever chosen to take care of Eden? She never was a baby person or a kid person at all. Eden was an exception. She loved Eden a lot, but she was only use to raising dogs, and she couldn't even do that right the first time around. It was hard for her to even understand Eden. Grace could understand Eden almost perfectly while Georgie had no idea what Libby was.
That's when Georgie heard the door open making her grab the knife she now kept in her pocket, but since Nala didn't growl or do anything Georgie just stays where she is pretty sure it was Drea or Olive who had a house key. Eden then started crying as Georgie sighs not knowing what to do "You don't know what she wants either do you?" Georgie asks as the puppy shook her head no. Georgie just sighs she didn't know what to do.
"Hey is everything okay?" Drea asks as Georgie just shook her head no.
"She wants her Libby and I have no idea what that is." Georgie says with frustration obvious in her voice. "I've literally tried every toy she has and her monkey cup. I just don't know what she means." Georgie says as Drea nods. Looking at the toys and then grabby a small rainbow lizard toy that was on a shelf.
"Libby!" Eden says excitedly clapping her small hand as Drea smiles handing the stuffed animal to the toy as Georgie groans she would have to remember that.
How did you know that? Georgie questions in confusion as Drea waves it off she had so many younger cousins that she knew a lot about toddlers although she only babysat once in a while when she was younger she still knew a bit.
"My youngest cousin called his shark a 'word' libby to lizard was a lot easier to understand." Drea says as Georgie sigh at least Drea had actually had some experience with toddlers.
"I'm never going to get the hang of this." Georgie says, putting her head down as Eden played with the lizard toy. Drea just sighs Georgie was being so hard on herself. "I have never taken care of kids. I'm an animal person, and I have no idea what I am doing. " Georgie says as Drea nods.
"I know, but Grace chose you to take care of her if anything happened. She knows that you would do anything for Eden. Your the only one they can trust." Drea says as Georgie just sighs.
"Yeah, but I have no idea how to take care of Eden. I can't understand her. You know the other day when she called me aunt it was so amazing, but that was before I had full custody. Drea, I don't know if I can do this." Georgie sighs quietly.
"I wish you could see yourself the way Grace did. You know more than your letting on and she knows that even if you don't know what your doing you'll figure it out because you have her best interests in mind. You're both adjusting right now. Remember Eden's family just disappeared and now she's in a completely different setting than she is used to. It has to be a big change for a toddler, and I know it is a big change for you. "You'll learn what she wants soon enough. " Drea says Georgie sighs and nods hearing her alarm go off.
Georgie simply went over to Eden. "Eden, it's time for your nap." Georgie told the girl who was rubbing her eyes. Georgie knew that meant she was tired even if she would put up a fight.
"No wanna!" Eden exclaims as Georgie lifts her up, placing her on her hip as she walks over to the crib. "No wanna Aunie, no wanna." Eden cries as Georgie sighs again putting her in the crib and turning the light off, and leaving for her room. Eden just cries for a few minutes before it stops.
"See, you have nap time under control. And you know how to get her to eat, and stuff your great with her don't you ever doubt that." Drea says as Georgie nods. "I still can't believe Ben left her with you. Without telling you to your face." Drea says with frustration as while Georgie was doing great with Eden a heads-up would have been nice especially since Georgie was going through so much already with being targeted.
"Ben, doesn't like me that much so it wasn't that surprising. I wish Michaela would have told me though. She's our partner, yet she leaves us hanging. I know the calling probably called all of them, but I could useMics help with all this." Georgie stayed opening her laptop to start researching, but Drea shuts it looking out how tired her friend looks.
"How much sleep have you been getting? " Drea questions Georgie who sighs at over worried friend.
Not enough, but…" Georgie starts before trailing off as Drea shushes her and gives Georgie a look Georgie knew well. "Drea like you said things have been rough for Eden and I . Eden hasn't slept well since she got here. Plus I need to figure this out." Georgie says as Drea rolls her eyes.
"You won't be any good if you work yourself to complete exhaustion. You sleep we'll deal with work later and I can care for Eden when she gets up." Drea says sternly as Georgie rolls her eyes, but reluctantly does as told, knowing she wasn't going to get past Drea.
"Such a mother." Georgie mutter half snarky, half playfully as Drea playfully rolls her eyes. Someone has to be, otherwise you'd work yourself to death." Drea says with a snicker before leaving Georgie. She was going to get use to taking care of Eden. She had too, but Drea was right, she was exhausted. She would do it better after some sleep
