The Very Beginning
I've been getting a request to do a Manifest and A Cinderella Story: If The Shoe Fits crossover one shot book so her it is. It takes place right after A Cinderella Story ends and before Manifest even starts. Georgie will be eighteen - twenty one in these one shots, and the background is similar to the Puppy AU Version as far as when she adopted Mira and so on (but this has nothing to do with that. Anyways I hope you enjoy if you do vote and comment
An eighteen year old Georgie sighs and smiles as she finishes unpacking the last of her things, her two dogs Pumpkin and Mira waiting patiently in their new home in New York. Georgie was a makeup artist and a therapy dog handler, and even though she had just finished highschool and a few other things she was good at her jobs so she decided to head to New York because they needed her the most.
A three years before Georgie had read about a plane going missing, and just a few days ago the people on the flight were proclaimed dead. So she had come because of that. Even though she wasn't quite sure how much they would open up to someone who didn't live there originally.
That's when Pumpkin and Mira start barking and there is a knock at the door. "Hmm I wonder who that could be." Georgie says as she stands up and walks to the front door With her dogs following behind her she then answers the door her dogs growling just a bit at the two women they did not know making Georgie shush them. "Um... Hi, how may I help you." Georgie asks hesitantly, "Oh I'm Grace and this is my daughter Olive we noticed you just moved in. So we came over to welcome you, oh and we brought you some cake." Grace says as Georgie nods,
"Oh wow thank you so much. I just moved um a few days ago. I'm Georgie, those are my dogs Pumpkin and Mira." Georgie says motioning to the dogs who were now lying down on the couch. "Why don't you come in?" Georgie asked, "As Grace looked at Georgie, "We couldn't, I would hate to intrude." The mother says was Olive just looks at the dogs. "Please mom, I want to meet Pumpkin and Mira." Olive says making Georgie chuckle. "Oh, you would not intrude at all. I would like the company." Georgie says, as Grace nods, "Okay as long as you don't mind." Grace says walking into the nice house, and setting the plastic container down on a table. Before Georgie motioned for them to sit.
"Pumpkin, Mira meet Grace and Olive, they are our neighbors." Georgie says as she looks at the two dogs. "Nice to meet you two, I'm Pumpkin the top dog of this family and that's my sister Mira." Pumpkin says, directing her greeting to Olive. "Wow, they talk?" The twelve year old asks, looking at Georgie who gives a quick smile, and nods, going along with it, as she knew kids and they always seemed to hear her dogs.
"Cool," Olive says as Georgie smiles at the kid. She had always loved kids, and part of her job was to go to children's hospitals and schools. "Where did you move from?" Grace asks Georgie who looked at her, "Oh, I'm from Arizona." Georgie says looking at her dogs. "Oh, cool, I've always been a New York girl, same with Olive." Grace tells Georgie who nods, "Where do you work at." Georgie asks as Grace smiles.
"Oh, I don't work yet, my boyfriend helps pay for the food, and I make money by selling Some of the food I make. My dream is to start a restaurant, but I haven't gotten the plans finished. What about you." Grace asks kindly as Georgie smiled, "I'm a makeup artist and a therapy dog handler I actually start my job at Broadway tomorrow. Thanks to some connections from my first job." Georgie says before looking to Olive, "And what about you Olive what grade are you in?" Georgie asked as Olive looked at Georgie. "I'm in eighth grade." Olive says with a smile, as Georgie nods.
"Wow, that's amazing. I remember the eighth grade I really enjoyed it." Georgie says as Olive looks to her in confusion. "You did, I hate it! Especially history. History is so boring, and it's the only class I'm failing in." Olive says as Georgie looks at the young girl. "I used to love history. It was my third best subject after theater, and math, and theater really doesn't count." Georgie says as Grace just smiled as the two continued talking. Olive hasn't connected that easily to anyone before, not even Danny, her new boyfriend.
"Well we have to get going. Olive has soccer practice. Thanks for inviting us in, and hey I know you're going to be busy, but if you could I'm sure both Olive and I would appreciate some history help. Again that is if you don't mind." Grace says she didn't like doing this to someone so new in the area, but this young woman seemed to take everything in stride. "I don't mind at all bring her on by, anytime my car is there, and I'll help to the best of my abilities.
Also you can come by anytime I don't mind, and I'm honestly so use to random people walking in by now." Georgie says as the two dogs nod as people walking up and randomly talking to them that they were mostly use to it. This makes Grace smile. "Great, thank you so much. Now come on Olive lets go." Grace says as Olive got up and followed her mother. "It was nice to meet you Miss Georgie." Olive says before running to her mother Georgie just grinned. "Well, I think that went well. What do you think pups?" Georgie asks Pumpkin and Mira. "It went very well, Olive is so nice I can't wait to see her again!" Pumpkin barks out excitedly making Georgie giggle, "What about you Mira? What did you think of them?" Georgie asked the smaller pup. "They were nice, and actually weren't loud, weird, or creepy." Mira barks out as even though she hadn't been with Georgie long the Cinderella play gave her enough experience with crazy people namingly Divine." Georgie just grinned, "Good I'm glad you enjoyed it, because we'll be starting our normal work at the children's hospitals and nursing homes tommorow." Georgie says making both dog wag their tails. Georgie was so ready to work again, and couldn't wait to help people in need. Little did she know what she had just gotten herself into...
