The Last Day part 2
"So who's gonna jump?" Both Drea and Georgie ask at the same time as they look to the frozen over lake. They were both willing to for one another, but neither exactly wanted to.
"I'll do it. I have the powers, and it's my calling. Here goes nothing. " Georgie says taking her coat off it would be easier to swim without it although Georgie was not looking forward to jumping in with only her long sleeve shirt, jean's, gloves and socks, but she jumped in.
Drea just sighs, hopefully Georgie won't rip her stitches, that would be a heck of a lot to take care of here.
Georgie just quickly swims to the bottom of the deep lake feeling around for a stone which sadly there were a lot of. She opened her eyes looking around desperately for a turquoise one that when she saw a light glow. Georgie quickly tries to swim to it but she had accidentally caught her foot on a a bit of muck.
Drea anxiously looks around waiting for Georgie to resurface. It was taking too long, and Drea had a feeling something was wrong. "Nala go help Georgie. " Drea tells the dog taking the coat off of her and the dog gulps but goes into the cold water diving under to help Georgie.
Georgie tried to free herself, kicking her legs desperately as she was freezing and running out of air. That's when she sees Nala who quickly swims over. Digging at the mucky sand that was almost like quick sand. After a few seconds of both working together they freed her and Georgie went to quickly snag the stone.
Georgie gasped for air the minute she got through the small circle that was opened, and then coughed out the water she had accidentally breathed in due to how long she was under."Okay it's freezing down there, but I found it." Georgie says after recovering from the coughing fit as she felt the wind blow against her, causing her to shiver. Nala just quickly scrambled to the shore.
"Ya owe me big time." She says shaking her fur that was already forming icicles. Drea quickly notices they have been in the water for a good three minutes. Alright let's get back to the car before one of you either freezes to death or get hypothermia." Drea says worriedly as Georgie nods and they quickly slide ungracefully to their car.
"You really scared me when you didn't come back up within a few seconds. What went wrong down there?" Drea asks Georgie who was not shivering as much now, but Drea still wanted to get to Zeke's cabin for Georgie could change from he sopping wet clothes.
"My foot got stuck in the sand which was basically quicksand. It was fine after Nala helped me get out though." Georgie says as Drea nods, turning the car into the drive of Zeke's old cabin.
"You go get a shower and get change before that shiver becomes anything more." Drea says seriously, and Georgie nods knowing that she had scared Drea earlier and she knew Drea was only doing this because she was nervous.
After Georgie gets a shower and changes she sighs with relief heading over to the queen bed they would have to share as Zeke did not put any other furniture in there since he never actually got to use it.
"Alright well, that's stone number 2 now we have to find the last stone." Georgie says, putting her leg up before grimacing. She tried to hide it from Drea, but Drea caught it.
"You okay?" Drea says with a bit of alarm in her voice. Georgie just sighs feeling a bit of blood trickling down her leg. She couldn't hide this.
"If I lie you're going to know anyway. I think I reopened my stitches." Georgie says as a flash of panic crosses her face as she quickly runs over, she pulls Georgie's pants leg up, and sighs in a bit of relief.
"You didn't break your stitches but it looks like they did stretch a bit. Good news is I don't have to redo all of it, but I do need to tighten it, and it's going to hurt a bit." Drea told Georgie who nodded.
"Just get it over with, I'm used to the feeling by now." Georgie says as Drea nods, grabbing the medical kit, and getting set up as quickly as she can. After about ten minutes Drea finished.
"Alright done, you okay?" Drea asks as Georgie nods looking at Nala beside her. Drea smiles at the pup who had helped Georgie she was exceptional and half of it was because of Georgie's training skills.
"She did good today... and so did you. Now do you have any idea where the last stone is?" Drea asks as Georgie shook her head no.
"No clue whatsoever. " Georgie says and the way Georgie said it made Drea laugh. Georgie just looked at her in confusion causing Drea to straighten out
"I guess we should call Olive and see what Brook has got then. Because we need to find the last stone." Drea told Georgie who just nods calling Olive.
"Hey G what's up?" Olive asks quickly causing Eden to jump up.
"Aunt Georgie your okay!" Eden exclaims as Georgie nods tiredly. "Aunt Georgie I miss you when are you coming home." Eden rambles out as Georgie sighs.
"I don't know hon, now can I please talk to Brook please?" Georgie asks as Eden sighs but hands the phone to Olive. Who let's Brook see the phone. "Hey Brook, do you have any idea where the next stone is." Georgie asks Brook just shook her head no.
"No I do not we're still working on it here. Can you think about any other important places!" Brook asks as Georgie sighs thinking that is when Mira pops up.
"Um Zeke's cave?" Mira asks as Olive smiles and nods. Zeke was an important part of this story.
"Mira recommends Zeke's cave he does have a big part in our story." Olive says as the two rocks in Georgie's hands glew.
"That's definitely the place. We'll scope it out tonight and get the stone tomorrow before the time runs out." Georgie says before smiling, bye Eden bye Olive." Georgie says before looking at Drea. "Let's go." She says as Drea nods grabbing the car keys.
After a half hour driving half way down the mountain both sigh. "Alright where is that cave." Georgie and Drea ask in confusion before the stones started glowing again. Georgie just looks around for a green glow Drea did the same. When they both saw the light they both look at one another.
"You have got to be kidding me." Both say as they look down a snowy slope to a small cave that the light was glowing from... that the snow blocked the entrance, and it was steep.
"Let's go." They both say at the same time. There would be no sleep tonight. Especially if it was as much snow as it looked. Thankfully they had brought supplies though. Maybe they could get down there before the curse actually came through.
