Jessica winces as she feels the bed shift beside her. It had been a long few days and they didn't even get to celebrate christmas because of a case which couldn't have waited. So that meant that they were pretty much there for the last for days and nights, and all parties didn't get out unscathed. 

"Mornin Jim," she says quietly, her voice tired as she carefully stretches looking at her boyfriend and then the clock. "We slept in," She then states in surprise. She and Jimmy both had an internal clock and woke up at the same time everyday despite the time they got to bed. So it was strange to sleep in at all.

"Morning Jess, and yes we did," Jimmy says, a relative calm coming over the two as they went to get ready for the day. That is when Knight's phone buzzed and she cursed under her breath. "What's  up hon?" Jimmy asks her and Jessica gives a small huff.

" We were supposed to visit my siblings today, but I completely forgot," Jessica says with a sigh as Victoria runs into the room. "

"Dad, Jess, can we open the presents now? I've waited two extra days for this!" Victoria says bouncing up and down as the couple smiles at the bubbly girl. Jimmy nodded causing the girl to run to the tree. The couple shares a glance before following.

The pups were already up reluctantly. Probably awoken by Victoria's gallivanting. They were both looking at one of the presents in particular with confusion.

There was a lot of torn wrapping paper by the time  Victoria finished and she was satisfied with all her presents, but there was still one left under the tree. One address for all of them. That Jimmy had no idea what it was. Victoria went to open it and a little white pup that looked to be a Pit Bull. 

"A new puppy! Thank you dad, thank you thank you!" She says kneeling down to pet it. Knight just smiles looking at Jimmy in confusion. They hadn't agreed to another puppy. That's when the white dog does something totally unexpected. 

"Well what are you waiting for aren't ya going to pet me too?" The dog questions in plain english and Knight turns to Jimmy with a look of disbelief in her eyes. Jimmy has the same shock in his eyes

"It talks, like it speaks actual English!" She asks suddenly, seeming even more excited yet confused than Victoria was. Jimmy just shakes the shock off. The pup looks at them. Not only could she feel the love they had for each other but the absolute happiness the woman had at her ability to speak.

The white pup just puffed herself up a little more and wags her tail, "Not only can I speak English, but I can speak Mandarin, Japanese, Arabic, Spanish, English, and some French!" The dog spoke confidently and Knight looked at her in even more shock and now Jimmy looked like he was about to faint.

Unlike Jess  when she shifts can hear animals, and Victoria who was still young enough to hear them. Jimmy had never heard a dog speak and although she spoke to Luna from time to time in the office he didn't realize their barks were actually them talking back. 

Jessica just quickly grabs the red box that the puppy came out of to find a note.

In this box is a special pup called Holly. She is a very special pup with a special gift that people seem to hate. I have given her to your family because I knew you would not judge her and teach her how to use her ability for good. She is a great family dog and will love playing and hanging out with Victoria, and is made for work that you need her favorite.

"Well Holly, I would love to question you more, but guys were supposed to be at Daimen's in a few hours and it's going to take me longer to fly since my arm is injured so I won't be able to fly as fast. So hurry up and get changed and packed." Jessica says and they do as told. 

"May I come with y'all," Holly asks with a cocked head Jess sighs but nods. "Thank you, thank you, thank you. You do not know how much that means to me!" The dog said in Japanese and Jess smiled. She liked this dog and so did Victoria. Even though they weren't expecting this. They would make it work.

………..

"Jessica take a break, we don't need to rush. You're going to end up injuring yourself more!" Jimmy yells out to his blue dragon who sighs and looks at the scar on her shoulder. 

"You need a break Ren?" Jessica asks her Dragon counterpart who nods and Jess sighs, deciding to land and transform back into a human. 

"It's official you are awesome!" The white pup barks, causing the three humans and two other pups to laugh. Jessica gave a little blush at the compliment; it wasn't often that people or animals told her that. Usually they would run away in terror.

"Thanks Holly… you don't know how much that means." Jessica told the dog thoughtfully. The pup just gave a knowing look and cocks her head.

"Oh you'd be surprised at how much I know, and I know a compliment can make someone's day." Said the white pup and Jessica nods.

………..

"You made it!" Daimen said the moment he opened the door about another hour later. Jessica just nods, holding the new pup in her arms.

"Yeah why wouldn't we?" Jessica asks curiously. Leaving Daimen floundering, she hadn't seen Daimen since they found each other again. She had become close to Drea Michi, and his kids in the last few months. She usually avoided Daimen at all costs though.

It wasn't because she was mad at him or anything, okay maybe she kind of was. But it was mainly because she did not trust men easily, and that sadly included her twin. "Well I um… didn't think you would come, but the twins are going to be so happy. Come on in," Daimen says, opening the door wider.

"Aunt Jess! The thinks call out running to her and Jess grimaces a little as they hug her a bit too tightly. After the moment of discomfort she smiled though hugging them. 

"Guys, guys, don't hurt your aunt," Drea spoke calmly, giving a happy look to her older sister as she prys the kids off of her. She then glances at the new pup and smiles. "Who's your new pup? A christmas present I suppose," Drea asks wagging her eyebrows  and Jessica rolls her eyes, but nods.

"I'm Holly, nice to meet you Jessica clone." She barks excitedly and Jessica bursts out in laughter. The new pup was so fun to listen to. Drea didn't seem to miss the beat with a talking dog though and smiles.

"You guys got a talking dog, that's awesome and it's nice to meet you Holly. I'm Drea, Jessica's younger sister, and those two chaos children are Molly and Daniel," Drea explains and Holly nods.

"Nice to meet you all, noe can Victoria and I go play please we just had a two and a half hour flight. I need to stretch my paws." Holly says simply and Jimmy nods 

"Go ahead you tie, but stay close, and yell if you need anything." Jimmy calls as all the kids and dogs run out. The others just watch as they greet Knight and Jimmy snuck away for a moment to talk with Holly.

……..

"Hey Holly, come here for a sec Jimmy calls out and the white dog comes trotting up. The pup had a curious look on her face as she sat down beside him on the porch. 

"What do you need Jimmy?" She asks slowly and somewhat nervously as she looks over at him with her lips quirked up in a smile. 

"I need your help, with something very special…" Jimmy started and the pit bull's eyes lit up a little bit. 

"You're proposing!" She squeals and Jimmy's face heats up at the fact their newest pup already caught on, but she wasn't wrong. Jimmy just nods and the pup squeals again.

"Anything you need me to do, consider it done!" The white pup says leaping up and Jimmy smiles starting to tell Holly his plan.

……..

It was a quiet evening at the Mikami's house, the kids being in bed and six adults watching some Christmas romcom Jun and Michi begged to watch. Jimmy and Jess sat together. Jessica slightly curled into his side initiating all contact. The white pup supposedly up in bed with Victoria. 

Drea just watches them curiously she knew something was up and  she was pretty sure her siblings noticed it as well. Jimmy seemed more nervous than normal. The only one not seeming to notice was Jess herself.  That's when the white pup comes out every part of her body adorned in mistletoe.

Jessica straightened a little bit looking at the dog in confusion before chuckling and taking her phone out for a photo and sending it to Kasie. "What is this, what did the kids do to you!" Jessica asks in surprise and the white dog looks at her not amused. 

"The kids want you to kiss and this was their idea." Holly says letting out an annoyed huff. Jimmy and Jessica eye each other before Daimen lifts the pup above their heads. 

"Looks like you two are standing under the mistletoe," He says cheekily and Knight rolls her eyes at her slightly younger brother. Jimmy just looks her in the eye asking for her permission. While her other siblings chanted "kiss," over and over again.

"Well I guess we can't ignore tradition can we? She asks and Jimmy shakes his head no. Jess gently leans in and gives Jimmy a long peck on the lips he quickly returns it and before Jessica had any time to process what happened next Jimmy was down on one knee.

Her eyes widened slightly and she stood there frozen as Jimmy pulled out a ring box, "Jess we've been dating for two years. When we met we were just friends, but we grew closer and closer. We helped each other through thick and thin, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you if that's what you want as well. So Jessica Knight, will you marry me and make this family complete?" Jimmy asks after giving his speech.

Jessica was silent for a moment still processing everything before she gave a smile and nodded. "Yes, yes of course I'll marry you. That is all I ever wanted for a while now." Jessica says before they kiss again. This time cheers erupted from her siblings and the white pup yipped excitedly.

"Yes, now I can officially call you mom." Victoria says running down the stairs of Daimen's house having heard everything as she hugged her dad and new step mom. Jessica just smiles happier than she has ever been.

She was ready now more than ever to have this family that she loved so dearly. She was ready to marry into it and create a life with them. starting with their Christmas puppy Holly.

"Should we let the team know they need some good news after all that we've been through since Christmas." Jessica suggests and Jimmy nods in total agreement letting Jess set the pace since he wanted her to be comfortable. 

"Yeah I'm calling Ducky, and I'm assuming you're calling Kasie?" Jimmy asks curiously and Jessica nods, already calling her phone and getting ready for Kasie's screeching.

"Yep, now she'll definitely never let hs live down the pomato plant incident." Jess jokes and Jimmy groans slightly as he siblings raise an eyebrow. "It's an inside joke, you wouldn't get it." Jess replies breezily.  As Kasie picks up the phone. This was the best belated Christmas ever.
