More to the Pinghalo
After Drea gets a new book from her sister in Japan she learns something new and amazing about the gems they wear but can it actually work?
Big shout out to my co writer maudie99o who wrote a lot of this and thanks anon for asking a question about this idea yesterday it really got us inspired.
It was a calm day for the three PIs. Abigail was asleep… for now there were no cases and their three gems, one given to each, were not glowing or causing any problems. It was quiet until the doorbell rang.
"I got it!" Drea says since she is closest to the door. So the eldest of the three got up from her work chair and went to the door. On the welcome mat was a small package with Japanese writing on it. Drea instantly knew it was another book Jun had sent her as promised.
"It was just another package from my sister." Drea informs as she opens it up the title reading, "Issho Ni Ketsugō" which in Japanese means… bonded together. Drea tenses up a bit, isn't that what the Gems were called too? Drea just shakes her head. It had to be a coincidence so the three woman went about their day.
……..
It was now nine in the evening when Drea went to grab the book that she had placed on the bed, and then lied down, her two puppies snuggling up to her. "Alright girls I've got a new story to read let's see what it's about. Drea says reading the synopsis on the back of the book.
The Issho ni ketsugō, three mystic stones given to us by our ancestors to protect our land. Given to three friends or three member of a family. Gifts given to all three. The power of life and death in their hands."
Drea could not believe what she was reading. That is until her stone started glowing brightly. "Is this book true?" Drea asks, slight bewilderment in her voice. She thought they learned everything that they needed to know about their power-giving gems, but when the callings said yes, Drea knew there was more they were looking at here and instantly started reading with curiosity.
…….
"So as a consequence of their broken bond the stones were set to have a curse as well. Only together you can get ahead, fall apart you wind up dead." Drea just gulps she remembered that quote all too well. She quickly flips a few pages looking at the chapter entitled "Shisha o ikikaera seru" or "bringing the dead to life." The title piqued her interest, and after reading a few paragraphs her eyes widen.
"The three stone bearers have the ability to bring the dead back to life, if they're bond is strong enough…"
Drea couldn't believe what she was reading and reads it aloud to her two puppies. "Calling is all this true. Can we really bring people back to life?" Drea questions before being pulled into a calling which was once again a familiar scene.
"Grace I couldn't intrude." Drea heard herself just a few years earlier said to the kind mother and Drea remembered this was her first girl's day with her friends.
"Oh Drea you could never intrude, you're one of us now. Now come on let's go." The scene flashed in front of her eyes and suddenly she was watching a horrible fight in front of her ending with Grace dead on the door Drea could literally feel herself shaking.
"She shall live again!" the calling called out. Drea just looks up in shock.
"Wait what?" Drea questions feeling her green gem glow brighter as her anxiety went up. She knew she had to have heard that wrong although she was still shocked by what it says.
"She shall live again! This isn't over, not yet, not until you save the one that's dead" The calling says again and with that the calling ends and Drea is back in her room.
"Okay that was really weird, I'll talk to the others about it tomorrow though. Goodnight pups!" Drea says as she gets more comfortable on the bed, leaving the book on her bedside table.
……..
Drea woke up with a piercing headache and groans. "Nal, I need my medicine please." Drea whispers as Nala just nods grabbing the bottle Drea always keeps close, dropping it in her owner's lap. Drea just quickly gulps both down and sighs grabbing the book when she realizes her necklace is glowing and sighs.
"You really want me to tell them about this don't you." She asks the calling and when she hears a yes she groans, getting up feeling a bit dizzy on her feet, as she heads out to the kitchen.
Nala and Gracie follow behind anxiously helping her stay steady. "Drea are you okay, You kinda look well, you look kinda dead no offense." Georgie says as Drea huffs sitting down in her chair.
"None taken, cause that's about how I feel." Drea murmurs, rubbing her temple trying to ward off the headache. Needless to say it didn't work.
"Do we need to postpone practice today? Again you don't look good at all." Georgie said and Drea could easily hear the concern. Drea just shook her head. She knew she needed to tell her two teammates about her discovery.
"No, no I'm fine, I actually have to tell you and Mick something that I found you'll definitely be interested in." Drea says quietly as she still runs at her head. "Calling woulda stop. I'm gonna tell them I just need Mick here first." Drea says with a groan as Geo just finally nods in understanding Drea must have waited too long to tell them about a calling she had.
"She'll be here soon. We told her breakfast was at nine. It's currently 8:45 so…'' Before Georgie could finish her sentence the doorbell rang, and then Michaela walked in briskly little Abigail was with her father today so she wouldn't be a problem.
"Hey… Drea what's wrong you look dead." Drea just drops the book she read the night before on the counter and looks at both her friends.
"We've got big news, News that could change everything." Drea says and the headache subsided most of the way. Her two friends just look at her in confusion.
"The curse isn't over, not yet, not until we save the one who is dead." Drea says as both her friends look at her as if she had grown another head. "Don't worry I'll explain everything. " Drea reassures starting to go into an explanation.
