Finding The Truth prt 1

Hey everyone here's the second mini story that goes along with The Hardest Part Of The Job. I really hope you enjoy if you do vote and comment 💖

Georgie groans when she hears a knock at the door the next morning. Georgie goes to open the door to see Cal. "Hey bud, we found your sister and Angelina is going to jail." Georgie told Cal who nodded sadly hugging Georgie. "How's your dad?" Georgie questions nervously.

"Um he punched a hole in the wall… and I think he got drunk. So not very good."  Cal stated hugging Georgie tighter, "I miss mom she always knew what to do, we need her." Cal cries quietly as Georgie nods.

"I know bud, I know, and if I had the power to bring her back I would. Trust me I definitely would. I know it's hard, but it will get easier eventually, and remember I'm always around to talk if you need to." Georgie told the teen. Before hearing the toddler cry out. Georgie just sighs and goes to grab Eden.

"Aunie, aunie." The young child calls out as Georgie picks the toddler up, adjusting her onto her hip. Was the child trying to call her Auntie? She had to be thinking of Michaela. Georgie wasn't related to them, and was only Grace's and Olive's friend. Georgie just shook it off though before realizing something, wait, if all else failed she would be Eden's caretaker. Georgie couldn't imagine that they had to find how to reverse the death date and this life boat thing Ben had been talking about for Eden's sake.

Georgie shoves all of this down though as she smiles looking at the toddler. "Hey lima bean are you hungry?" Georgie asks the toddler as she sets Eden down so she can walk. Eden just smiles.

"Fwood!" The little girl cries out as Georgie laughs. She was taking that as a yes. Georgie then grabs her bag with the cereal puffs in it handing them to Eden. As she places her on the chair. Olive comes out of her room smiling when she sees Eden, Georgie and Cal together.

"Hey you guys, looks like you guys are doing ok." Olive says although Cal was still holding on to Georgie and crying, Olive just sits down beside Georgie putting her head on the young adult's shoulder. Georgie just sighs before hearing her doorbell ring.

"If you're Michaela and Zeke come in if you're anyone else I suggest you leave before I get my attack dog on you." Georgie says calmly she then hears the door click open, and sees Michaela and Zeke. "Hey, guys sorry about the threat. I can never be too careful." Georgie told Mic who nods she understood why Georgie was being like that it was dangerous for them to let strangers in.

"I see you're taking great care of Eden." Michaela tells Georgie who just nods. Michalea then continued, "I see why Grace wants you to be her caretaker if anything does happen to us." Georgie just groans she didn't want to be reminded of that right now. She was still trying to help this family get over grieving and she needed time to process it herself.

"Let's not think about this right now. I have enough on my plate as is. Plus nothing is going to happen." Georgie says as Michaela and Zeke just nod. Georgie then looks at Cal with a question on her tongue, but she doesn't know if she should ask it or not. It could help her research though so no one else would die.

"Cal… how did you turn your real age? What happened?" Georgie questions quietly looking at the seventeen and a half year old. Cal just looks at her and sighs. He knew Georgie was curious, and if this could help her figure out what was going on then she was willing to tell her.

"I had to show them what would happen so they would understand. I had to sacrifice my youth to save the 828ers. I don't know why. Miss Georgie, this is far from being over, and I'm scared. The Callings only want what's best for us, but we still have two and a half years for the death date and if we can't figure out how to reverse it then what are we going to do?" Cal asks as Georgie sighs hugging onto the seventeen year old.

Something then clicks in Georgie's mind, "Brook come here please." Georgie calls out as her Yorkie comes running from her room looking at her in confusion. She didn't understand why Georgie needed her at the moment. "Um guys I'm going to  start making breakfast. Brook pow wow now." Georgie tells the other before whispering pointedly at Brook as Georgie knew Brook was the only one who would understand what she was talking about.

Brook quickly scrambled after her owner, and came into the kitchen. Where Georgie was setting up stuff to make some bacon and eggs. "Alright owner, what  is this about? Brook asks in confusion as Georgie puts the Yorkie on the counter. Brook sat down still looking intently at her owner.

"I'm sorry to disturb you sweet pup, but remember that allegory we were reading before everything went crazy? I think it has something to do with what happened to their flight." Georgie told Brook, who looked at her in confusion before nodding.

"The one about the ship that sunk and they came back five years later… wait your right the ship and flight 828 are connected! There is no such thing as a lifeboat then. If I remember correctly they had to sail back to where they had come from. Wait, but they had something that needed to be returned… Ben has already returned  the wing to the sea. What else would they need to return?" Brook asks, hoping Georgie understood what she was trying to say.

"I have no idea, but at least for once we have a lead. Now we know what flight 828 is based on. I can find more books on it now, and we can figure out exactly what's going on and how to reverse it. But…" Georgie started, but Brook interrupted instantly, knowing what Georgie was thinking.

"We're not wrong this time. I'm sure of it and don't worry we won't mess this up. If we work together we can save them." Brook barked out as Georgie nodded in understanding as even though she couldn't understand exactly what her pup was saying she had a good idea.

"I know Brook, but even if we are right. Ben is not going to listen to us. He hates us, without Grace they won't give me as many chances." Georgie told Brook who huffed.

"Then make them hear you! You're stubborn if you keep persevering he'll have to hear you. You're just trying to help and if they know what's good for them they'll listen. Otherwise they're going to be dead." Brook tells Georgie confidently, Georgie just sighs. Cal was right they still had a long road ahead of all of them.
