2012 ― New York
"Hail HYDRA."

"Better hustle, Rogers'. Things look like they're just about wrapped up here." Tony Stark said into his comms. He was outside of another building, across from Stark Towers where they had all apprehended Loki.

"Got it. We're approaching the elevator now." Katherine responded back. Tony flew inside of the tower and let his suit disappear from around him before hiding behind one of the walls.

"Mr. Rogers, I almost forgot that that suit did nothing for your ass," Tony said which made Katherine laugh and from next to her, Steve rolled his eyes.

"No one asked you to look, Tony," Steve said.

"It's ridiculous," Tony said.

"I think you look great, Cap. As far as I'm concerned, that's America's ass." Scott Lang said. He was in tiny form, on Tony's shoulder, and Katherine started laughing even more, especially because of how her husband was reacting to all of this.

"Who are these guys?" Scott asked when Rumlow and Sitwell along with the rest of the HYDRA crew came in to apprehend the weapons.

"They are S.H.I.E.L.D. Well actually, they're HYDRA, but we didn't know that yet." Tony said.

"Seriously? You didn't?" Scott asked.

"Yeah, Steve and I didn't come to the realization that they were HYDRA until about two years from now," Katherine said.

"I mean, they look like bad guys," Scott said and from where Katherine and Steve were, she did agree with him. They did look bad, but at the time, Katherine thought they were working for the right side.

"You're small, but you're talking loud," Tony said to Scott. When the team from 2012 left in the elevator, present-day Tony in his suit, flew out of the building and stayed in the air across from it. "Alright, Cap... Kat, I got our scepter in the elevator... just passing the 80th floor." Tony said. Katherine and Steve stood together at the elevator and Steve pressed the down button.

"On it." He said.

"Head to the lobby, T," Katherine said.

"Alright, see you there," Tony said. The elevator doors opened, and Rumlow, Sitwell, and the rest of their HYDRA team seemed surprised to see them both. But Steve and Katherine got onto the elevator without saying a word.

"Captain. Miss Moretti. I thought you two were coordinating search and rescue." Jasper Sitwell said to the couple.

"Change of plans. I mean, I founded S.H.I.E.L.D. so I can do what I want, right?" Katherine said to him, and Sitwell nodded his head.

"Right, Miss Moretti," Jasper said. She almost corrected him and said 'Rogers,' but then remembered that they were in 2012. But hearing 'Moretti' again, a name she hasn't heard since 2014, made her cringe. Rumlow looked over at the couple.

"Hey, Cap. Katherine." He said while nodding to them.

"Rumlow." The two of them responded at the same time. Katherine had to keep herself composed because knowing what she knows about Rumlow, she wanted nothing more than to kill him right here in this elevator. Katherine and Steve both noticed one of the agents put his hand on his gun holster.

"I just got a call from the secretary. Katherine and I are going to be running point on the scepter." Steve said. Rumlow looked over at the couple, while Sitwell turned around.

"Sir? I don't understand." Sitwell said. Katherine looked at her husband before looking back at Jasper.

"We got word there may be an attempt to steal it." The brunette said.

"Sorry, Cap. Katherine. We can't give you the scepter." Rumlow said which almost made Katherine laugh. They were going to get that scepter, and she knew exactly how to make Sitwell give it up too.

"I'm going to have to call the director," Sitwell said.

"That's okay because I outrank the director. So, trust me." Katherine said while giving him a smile. Jasper looked at her, and she leaned down to get close to his ear before whispering.

"Hail HYDRA."

Sitwell looked up at her in shock, while Katherine only wore a small smirk on her face as she looked at Sitwell. He and Rumlow exchanged a glance, and when the elevator doors opened for Katherine and Steve to get off.

Steve had the briefcase with the scepter in his hands.

"What'd you say to get him to give it up?" Steve asked as they walked through the hallway.

"Hail HYDRA." She said and Steve laughed as they rounded another corner. Through their coms, they could hear a lot of commotion going on in the lobby. "T... talk to us, what's going on?" She asked.

"Tell me you found that cube," Steve said and then the couple stopped, because of what... well, who they saw in front of them. Steve sighed. "Oh, you've got to be shitting me," Steve said and Katherine looked up at him and Steve shook his head. "Don't you dare tell me to watch my language!" He said and Katherine laughed a little before they turned to who was in front of them.

Themselves, from 2012. Newly reunited.

"We have eyes on Loki, 14th floor." 2012 Steve said as 2023 Steve set the case with the scepter inside of it down on the ground.

"Neither of us is Loki, and we don't want to hurt either of you," Katherine said which made her past self laugh as she grabbed her baton. "Well shit, good luck babe." She said, before her past self attacked her, right as 2012 Steve attacked 2023 Steve.

Katherine dodged an attack from her 2012 self before swinging low and getting her in her legs. Her past self recovered and as Katherine went for another blow, 2012 Katherine kicked her back down at the same time 2012 Steve had kicked 2023 Steve down, and the couple landed next to each other, as 2012 Steve looked at his future self.

"I could do this all day." 2012 Steve said and Katherine looked at her husband who rolled his eyes.

"Yeah, I know. I know." Steve said as he and Katherine stood up. The two Steve's, threw their shields at each other, making them both fall 14 floors down, as the two Katherine's continued to engage in hand-to-hand combat. Dodging and delivering blows with perfect precision. 2023 Steve, tripped up 2012 Steve after the scepter had fallen through the glass and 14 floors down, and both Steve's went over the edge, making both Katherine's stop, concerned for their Steve's.

"Steve!" Both girls yelled. 2023 Katherine knew it was a risk, but she jumped off the ledge after them, and 2012 Katherine rolled her eyes.

"Oh, you're not getting away from me." 2012 Katherine said as she followed her future self over the ledge. Both of their Steve's saw them falling from above, and held their arms out to break their falls.

"Thanks for the save, handsome." Both Katherine's said to their Steve's at the same time before they looked at each other in shock. Then 2012 Steve saw 2023 Steve's compass with the picture of Katherine and their kids, and he grabbed it, shocked to see children in the picture because, in his compass, he only had a picture of Katherine. 2012 Steve looked at the couple as all four of them got off the ground.

"Where did you get this? And are those... your kids?" 2012 Steve asked. The 2023 Steve and Katherine looked at each other, before they each went for the scepter, their 2012 selves, stopping them by putting them both in chokeholds and bringing them to the ground. Katherine was trying to think of something to say, anything to say to get her former self off of her as she continued to lose oxygen, and then she thought of it.

"Stefano... is... alive." She gasped out. Her 2012 self was completely shocked by her words and let her go.

"What? You're lying." She said and Katherine could hear how scared her past self was and she didn't blame her, but she hit her and rolled towards the scepter before grabbing it, and she used it to knock her former self out, right as she saw Steve still struggling with his former self.

"Kath..." 2023 Steve mumbled.

"Tell him... winter soldier," Katherine whispered.

"Bucky... is... alive." 2023 Steve managed to gasp out causing his former self to let him go, hearing that his best friend was still alive.

"What?" 2012 Steve asked and 2023 Steve punched him off of him before Katherine used the scepter to knock him out as well, right next to her past self, and she helped her husband off the ground, as he grabbed his compass, and then he looked down at his former self.

"That is America's ass." He said, and Katherine shook her head, before leaning up to give him a kiss, which Steve immediately reciprocated, and when she pulled back, she laughed.

"Nope, that's my ass."

Ahh, well as we know, we're going back to Jersey in 1970, when we come back to Katherine and Steve and Tony, that chapter is going to be fun.
