Chapter 1 - Meeting Mark
Dear Diary,
I still don't have any friends in my normal class, but Marinette in the other class is really nice. She tries to help me make new friends, but I'm still not all that good at it.
I've glimpsed a few of her classmates walking up to class from my refuge under the stairs before, and they all seem nice. There was this one person I saw with red hair, he looks really attractive. I know I'll never have any chance with him th
"Hey Marc! How's it going!" Asked a cheery voice behind me. "Where's the rest of your class?"
Startled, I slammed my book shut, and found Marinette peering over my shoulder, trying to read what I was writing.
Feeling my face heat up I said, "O-Oh hey Marinette, we're done with classes today, the others probably went home," the words tumbling out of my mouth in a rush. I looked around to make sure no one was judging me, then looked back at Marinette.
Curse my inability to function properly!
She beamed at him. "Perfect timing! Our class has a spare hour so some of us are heading to the art room!! You should come check it out!" She exclaimed joyfully.
I looked down. Art wasn't exactly my thing, I felt best writing, but didn't want to upset the only person who was ever nice to me. "S-Sure. Why not?" I mumbled.
"And maybe you'll finally let me read your writing!"
At this I felt my heart beating faster than should be healthy. No one saw read my writing except my own eyes, I didn't feel comfortable showing it to anyone. I was sure someone would make fun of me. I used the drawings uploaded to the school website drawn by a student called Nathaniel for inspiration, of course, and if he could show the entire school his artwork, then surely no one would make fun of me for my writing. But, I didn't know, people might think it was a bit... gay.
Again, however, I didn't want to make Marinette sad. "Y-yeah, I dunno, maybe..."
She put her thumb up to indicate it was settled. "Awesome! See you later then!!" She said, beaming again. And she dashed off up the stairs I was under, giggling to herself.
I slammed my head down on my book, groaning. Why am I such an idiot? I thought. Now she's gonna ask me to see my writing, I basically agreed to it right to her face. Lord help me.
I figured I should head up to the art room or everyone would be waiting for me.
Sighing, I stood up and began walking across the school grounds, clutching my diary to my chest as I walked.
***********
As I walked up the stairs, I heard the distinct sound of spray paint being sprayed on a wall along with a boy's voice around my age.
"...but I'm only good at drawing stories, not writing them."
"You should team up with a creative writer!" An older man's voice responded as I walked reached the door.
As I looked around, my breath was taken away.
The place was amazing, to say the least. It was so decorative and beautiful, and had so many pieces of art around the room.
I heard the boy's voice responding, "Maybe but, I don't know anyone who's into that."
From near the door I heard a female voice respond, "Don't worry buddy," she said, her voice oddly muffled. I looked over in the direction of her voice and saw a short, vibrantly pink-haired girl with a mask on doing street art on the wall. She took the mask off as she spoke, making her words more distinguishable. "There's gotta be someone out there just waiting to meet you. Red please!" She yelled across the room, and someone threw her a bottle of red spray paint.
"Marc! You've made it!" I heard a familiar voice yell delightedly, and I saw Marinette making her way across the room to the door where I awkwardly stood. I immediately half hid my book in my jacket, while also pulling it over the rainbow of my shirt.
I didn't want anyone to think I was... weird.
She grabbed my wrist and pulled me to the centre of the room, where a kindly looking man was standing.
"This is Marc, the boy I told you about!" She said to the man when we both got to him. "The one who's always writing!"
I looked up nervously into the man's gaze and explained in a mumble, "Uh, I'm sorry, I didn't want to disturb you." I looked down at the floor, Gosh I'm so stupid.
"Welcome to room 33," the man said. "You're never disturbing anyone here!" I looked up and saw that the man was smiling. "You can come anytime you want, outside of class time or outside of school. Everyone can create what they want, any way they want."
"Rose," he indicated a small girl with short blonde hair and large headphones sitting with her legs crossed on a stool, writing something on a notepad, "is writing lyrics for a rock band. Rose," He took one side of the girl's headphones off her ear so she could hear him, "I'd like you to meet Marc." He pointed to me. I figured Marinette had told him my name before.
The girl looked over to me and smiled warmly. "HEY THERE! NICE TO MEET YOU MARC!" She screamed enthusiastically.
Next, the man pointed to the short girl doing the graffiti on the wall. "Alix is our expert in street art." She threw a spray paint can in the air and caught it, giving me a silent gesture of greeting.
"And Nathaniel-" he started, but was cut off by Alix.
"He likes to draw people in skinny suits."
The boy cast an annoyed look at Alix and threw a crumpled up piece of paper at her. She laughed and swatted the paper away.
"Welcome Marc!" The Nathaniel said, but Marc wasn't really looking at him. He was mainly looking over at the drawings on his desk. "As you'll find out, the good thing about this place is you can say whatever you want and no one will judge you. Or, only in good fun." As he finished speaking, I walked over to him, eyes still fixed on the drawings.
"I-I saw your drawings on the school website," I began, recognising the pictures I'd used as inspiration for my stories, "but they're nothing compared to the real thing. The movement, the expressions, the attitudes," I continued, beginning to ramble there. "They're all so..." even words couldn't describe how amazing his drawings were.
"Thanks! That's nice!" He responded, and he sounded really grateful.
I finally looked over at who it was I was talking to, and it all came to me suddenly.
First I realised it was the red-haired boy I'd seen before, the one I'd thought was attractive.
Then I realised how what I'd said must've sounded gay.
I jumped back, startled by my own words.
"S-sorry." I said, not quite sure what I was apologising for. "Uh, I've never seen drawing so-"
"So messed up!!" A rude voice responded, and I turned over to see a girl with long blonde hair in a ponytail, and a bucket load of makeup on. There was a nervous-looking girl next to her, too, who looked almost as if she were the first girl's slave, although she was smiling. "All he ever draws anymore is ladybug every since she de-akumatised him, as if ladybug could care less about a guy like him." She laughed cruelly.
I looked over at Nathaniel and sighed to myself. I knew it. This was my downfall. He looked so hurt I was one hundred percent sure he was straight.
His face went red and he began to pack up his things, ready to leave.
I knew I should stand up for him, even though I just met him, but the teacher beat me to it.
"I already told you Chloe," he said, exasperated, "if you have an art project you need to work on you're quite welcome to work here. Otherwise-"
"Of course I've got a project." She spun into the room dramatically. "A unique masterpiece that will revolutionise the art world, nothing you commoners would ever come up with."
"Lemme guess," said the pink-haired girl, Alix. "Another collage of selfies?" she said while impersonating Chloe perfectly.
The entire class began to laugh with Alix, and I joined in.
Maybe these people were pretty good, after all.

A/N
Well then
1418 words
Was not expecting 2 and a half minutes of one episode to go for that long but there you have it, the art of writing (hehe, see what I did there?)
Now, I'm not gonna have the entirety of the Reverser episode just typed out and in Marc's perspective, this chapter was mainly to introduce Marc and get used to the feel of writing in his point of view. I might just summarise the rest of the episode in a diary entry for Marc at the start of the next chapter and then start making their friendship grow into more and all the fluff and stuff and then the climax and a few cliffhangers-
I'm getting carried away with spoilers, whoopsiedoo.
I'll leave you at that, and until next time, stay safe and happy and keep on smiling!
