After Omid

16 months later, Clem, Duck, and Christa have matured a little in the face and Christa looked noticeably not pregnant. They were sitting on a log in the middle of the woods with a little fire that just looks like ashes now.  "Christa, could you please talk to us?" Clemintine asked, looking over at Christa. Christa took in a deep breath and paused like she was going to say something but thought better of it a let the breath go. She walked over to the fire and poked at it with a stick, trying to get it going.

"This will never work, look at this, it's pathetic," She said, clearly aggravated, shaking her head in disapproval.

"We need to find other people, people we can trust, we've been on our own for too long," Duck said looking at Christa, giving her a small smile, hoping it would make her feel better.

"Trust? You think you can trust someone out here? Not now, not anymore," Christa said, Duck looked down and Clemintine rubbed her shoulders.

"I'm freezing," she said and Christa looked up for a split second then continued tending the fire.

"You think this is bad? Wait till we get up to Wellington, then talk to me about cold, if we make it," Christa got up and looked up to the sky, "We still got a couple hard months ahead of us, this rain will turn to sleet, then ice, then snow, it won't be easy," Christa squatted back down and turned her attention back to the fire. Duck looked up, hope gleaming in his eyes.

"Is it safe there?" He asked and Christa looked up.

"Safer than here because of the cold, or so they say, we just need to keep moving North," There was a long pause before anyone spoke up. Then Clemintine looked down, saddened by her thought that she decided to speak aloud.

"I miss Lee," she said, and those three simple words brought sadness to Duck and Christa's hearts.

"I'm sure you do," Christa said and got up. "I'm gonna go look for more wood, you two try to keep the fire lit," Christa said, looking in front of her. Duck looked to Clemintine, sadness evident in his eyes.

"I'm sorry Clem," Duck said, like he had done some thing wrong. Clemintine looked at him and gave him a small smile.

"It's OK, Duck," Clemintine said as she got up, Duck mimicking her actions. She went to her bag in search of a lighter while Duck looked around for something to burn. Clemintine opened her bag and took out the first thing she saw. It was the photo of Lee she kept when he tore it off of his family photo, he didn't know Clemintine had took it and she never told him. She was glad she took it now, because she still had a reminder of how he looked. She put it in her pocket after looking at it and took out the second thing. This time it was the drawing she drew of Duck, Kenny and Katjia. She let out a breath, showing that she missed Kenny and Katjia. Duck looked at her worriedly and Clemintine gave him a reassuring face, telling him she was alright. She put it in her pocket. Finally, she got to the lighter that she had originally come to get. She took it and got up from her position in front of her backpack and walked over to Duck. "You didn't find anything yet?" She asked him, laughing a little in the process. He gave her a fake pout and smiled at her.

"I found some wood and a liscinse plate, but I didn't pick that up," Duck gave her the wood he had found and she took it while smiling. Both of them walked over to the fire. Clemintine looked in it for a while as if thinking about what to do. Duck looked at her, confused for a while, then Clemintine looked at him.

"What should I burn, the wood or my drawing?" She asked and he looked to the ground, thinking on what would be better. On one hand the wood would be the ideal choice but it was wet, the drawing would be good but it was of sentimental value. He finally decided of the drawing, it was hard but he decided that he should let the fire burn, since the fire might get bigger with dry paper. She put it in the fire and moved the paper into the fire a bit more, it instantly got bigger and Duck and Clemintine smiled at the fire they had made. Then they started hearing voices. Bandit voices and they realized that sitting there wasn't gonna help them so they got up and tried to identify where it was coming from. Once they did, they started walking torwads it. As they got nearer they saw Christa surrounded by bandits.

"Where's the rest of your group?" One of them said forcefully as he pushed Christa. Christa put her hands up.

"I-im by myself," She said

"Bullshit,"

"She's lying,"

"Cut the shit, lady," another one of them said pointing a gun to her head. Clemintine picked up a rock and Duck grabbed her arm.

"What are you doing?"

"Distracting them," she said and then broke free of Duck's grip and threw the rock. It hit on of the bandits in the head and Clemintine told Christa to run. She and Duck ran themselves, hearing gunshots as they got farther and farther away from where Christa was being held up. The bad it that Clemintine had hit started running after them. Clemintine had hid behind a tree while Duck started hiding behind a rock not far from Clemintine but it was just big enough to hide his entire body. Clemintine started to panic but also to think and look for a way out. Clemintine ran and Duck started running with her. The bandit saw them and started to run after them. Clemintine slid under a log and Duck jumped over said log while the bandit chased after them. A zombie came and Clemintine dodged it while grabbing Duck's arm and dragging him away from the monster. The bandit took hold of the zombie and smashed it's skull in while Clemintine took hold of a stick and thinking of how it could defend her in any way. He tried to grab one of them but Duck and Clemintine dodged him and Clemintine shoved the stick into his left shoulder. "C'mon!" She said to Duck, pulling him to her. They ran farther away from the bandit and was met with a cliff. The bandit bbed Clemintine while Duck tried to save her but was instead thrown down and acciedently fell over the edge, thankfully he was hanging onto the edge, trying to get himself back up desperately. He saw Clemintine go into a log and kicking the bandit in the face multiple times then finally being pulled out and being dragged somewhere.

"Clemintine!" He screamed. Clemintine hung onto a tree while the bandit screamed multiple curses. The bandit wrestled her to the ground and a zombie came but was stopped by a tree and a rock. The zombie was so close. Clemintine desperately tried to get the bandit closer to the zombie and successfully did. The zombie grabbed hold and Clemintine backed up. Clemintine was grabbed by a zombie and tried to get free and, by some miricle, got free. She was soon running and then got surrounded by zombies. She went back the way she came, seeing the bandit being aten alive. She tripped and started crawling backwards, where she found Duck trying to get back up. She threw a rock at something and tripped and fell of the cliff and into the water.

"Clemintine!" Duck shouted and took a deep breath. He let go and fell into the icy water along with his companion. Falling off of the waterfall.
