Chapter 4: Experts' rights in the TV game
The experts have access to the following rights when games are underway:
The Final Round Declaration. Declaring the Final Round can only be made when the experts have 5 points. Once declared, the Final Round resets the score, but the team must designate one player to answer a question then worth all 6 points. Historically, declaring the Final Round is considered a very risky move, but also considered a way to win a winter season berth. If a Final Round falls on a blitz, it automatically becomes a superblitz.
Added in 2012, the minute on credit may be taken when the viewers have 5 points. The experts may then choose to have one extra minute for a particular question but a subsequent question must be answered without discussing it in return. The viewer who sent in the question the minute on credit is used on is awarded a monetary prize regardless of whether the experts' answer on it is correct.
The early answer. The experts may choose to answer the question immediately, before the minute of discussion starts. The expert must raise his/her thumbs up to signal to the captain they know the answer. At this point, the captain must say "early answer". If they answer correctly, they can them carry over the minute to a subsequent question later in the game.
Ask the audience. Once per game, and only when trailing, the experts may ask the audience in the studio for 20 seconds of help. Even though some people in the audience are actually part of other teams against whom the experts play, in the best spirit of collaboration, the audience typically tries to provide the best assistance possible.
