Chapter Six: Aslan
Caspian held his breath as he saw the Telemarine armies marching towards them.
Suddenly Edmund gasped and Peter went pale, Caspian squinted against the harsh sunlight.
Maffie was being painfully dragged by Miraz. She was half-crying half-yelling at him. Peter turned to Caspian.
"Caspian. Go inside." Peter hissed. Caspian trembled, unable to move, Peter pushed him inside, and it was a good thing he did, moments later Caspian fainted.
He finally awoke an hour later. Lucy was talking to a badger and Caspian's head was in much pain and his vision blurred.
Lucy noticed he was awake and approached him cautiously.
"How are you?" She asked. Caspian snorted, the noise causing his headache to just grow.
"Oh. Right. Peter noticed you didn't look so good. We assumed it was because if your arm, but it seems to be healing with little infection. Then we decided it was probably just the shock of things." She explained.
"Where is Peter and Edmund?" He asked, sitting up.
"The duel has started. Peter was actually wondering if you would be willing to cone with me in the forest to look for Aslan. He showed me a passage we can take without being seen." Lucy said all at once. Caspian almost smiled. His headache was quickly fading and he felt new strength.
"Yes. I will go with you." He said. Lucy grinned and clapped her hands together.
Half-tugged Caspian followed Lucy to the entrance of the tunnel. Two horses were already saddled and waiting for them.
And off they went. They both didn't know where they were going. They were just riding along. Suddenly they realized there was a soldier following them, Caspian also realized, with dread, that they were both unarmed aside from the sword of his and Lucy's dagger, whilst this man had a crossbow.
Arrows flew all around them, seeming to have no end. Lucy suddenly gave a cry of joy as the large lion jumped out and killed the man behind them.
"Aslan! Lucy exclaimed breathlessly. Caspian slowly watched as the girl ran up and tackled the lion in a hug.
After a short conversation Aslan smiled at Caspian.
"Dear One, why did you ever doubt?" He asked gently. Caspian bit his lip.
"I was afraid you wouldn't be real and I would lose everyone." He finally admitted.
Aslan gently touched Caspian's forehead with his nose.
"You are so loved. That's what you are afraid of. You're afraid of being unlocked, that's why you chased everything that made you feel loved, after Maffie left you became desperate." Aslan stated softly. Caspian nodded and looked at the ground.
Aslan smiled.
"Caspian, I love you. I loved you before you were even born. There is nothing yoh could do to make me stop loving you. Maffie loved you, she so often prayed that she could see you at least to say goodbye. King Caspian, you are loved." Aslan said. Caspian looked up in surprise.
"I am not king, only prince and barely even that." Caspian mumbled the last part.
"Caspian, why do you doubt yourself. You are one of my precious chosen ones." Aslan rumbled. Caspian smiled slightly. Lucy giggled.
"Your friends and subjects have slept long enough, don't you think?' Aslan chuckled and roared, the trees moved slightly and suddenly they began to stretch upright and the spirits of the trees began talk with one another, all looked at Aslan and bowed. Lucy grinned and twirled around with a few and looked at Aslan.
Aslan shook his mane.
"Your High King and your country needs you."
With a loud battle cry the dryads and tree spirits charged to the direction of the battle.
