Tip #3

Request a Satyr.

If you haven't brushed up on your mythology yet, let me explain what a satyr is. Part-man, part-goat.

They have the upper half of a regular mortal (though, they grow horns out of their heads), and fuzzy goat legs and hooves instead of feet.

Their job, and why they're an asset to your child's safety, is to protect young demigods and let them live a normal life until they no longer can. Then, your child's satyr will take them to the only safe place - Camp Half-Blood. Camp Half-Blood is a Greek demigod training facility located on the Long Island Sound, directed by Dionysus, and Chiron, who is the activities coordinator.

Again, for those who have yet to catch up on their myths:

Dionysus: God of Wine and Partying. Why we trust our kids to this god, I'm not sure. But he has proved loyal, and hasn't harmed any of the campers - as far as I'm aware.

Chiron: An age-old centaur from Greek Mythology who has trained legendary demigods such as, but not limited to: Jason, Hercules, Perseus.

Any who, back to the 'Satyr' bit of this tip.

Request a satyr when your child is young. I requested mine through advice from Apollo, but if you can't get whichever god is the parent of your child to ask for a satyr, you can go to camp and ask for one there.

"Perks to Requesting a Satyr" in next chapter.
