A Tour of Camp, by Annabeth Chase

Hello! My name is Annabeth Chase, and I'll be your guide as we tour the amazing landscape of Camp Half-Blood. We don't normally open our camp to clear-sighted mortals, but you are the exception.
Do you see that huge pine tree in the distance? That's Thalia's Pine. When Thalia died originally, Zeus turned her into a pine tree to save her life. That's when the magical boundary formed and stopped monsters from terrorizing our camp. When Percy and I retrieved the Golden Fleece, Thalia turned back into a human, but her tree remains. The magical boundary is still there, and so is the Golden Fleece. See that dragon around the tree? That's Peleus, and he'll make sure our camp is safe.
Now that we've got that covered, let's go to the Big House. Mr. D left for Olympus a short while ago, but he left Seymour the leapoard head as a souvenier. We can't go into the Big House, that's the tour rules, but you can see the third story window, right? The old oracle, a mummy of over fifty years, used to be there until Rachel came. Now she lives in that cave near Zeus's fist. Any questions? Yes? Oh yeah, Rachel's the new Oracle. You can meet her later. I'll be sure to point her out.
Our basement holds ambrosia, nectar, and plenty of strawberry preserves and jam. The rest of the Big House holds rooms for guests or visiting demigods. Especially Romans, but that's another story. Now before we go on, look behind you. Those are our volleyball courts, where satyrs and demigods trying to improve their motor skills practice. You should see Percy try it sometime.
That is our arts and crafts station, where you can try to make statues, fountains, and plenty more intresting stuff. It's not exactly useful in fighting monsters, but it gets honor. It's my job as Architect of Olympus to collect these statues and arrange them artfully in the City of the Gods. Done gazing? No? Oh, you're asking what that statue is for. That's Nike, the goddess of victory, and those are her kids and a few of my siblings. Athena and Nike fit along perfectly, so we usually do everything together.
On your left is our cabins. We've got more than twenty cabins here, including minor gods like Nemisis or Hypnos. You'd be surprised at how many people are in the Hermes cabin now. Not very many, I tell you. It's only about one-fourth the usual amount. Those are our showers and facilities. Do you need to use them? No? Okay then, come on.
On your right is our canoe lake, where the naiads live and help mantain camp life. See those campers there? They're practicing canoeing, which is pretty useful after you've mastered it. On the shallower ends, many people like to swim. We've got no monsters in the lake, but you need to be more careful in the Sound. I'll get to that later.
Now to your far right is the amphitheater. That's when every Friday the Apollo campers host the camp sing-a-long and we roast smores. I tell you: they are seriously GOOD, even for an Athena camper. No offence mortal, but you need to walk a little faster. Out of breath already? Fine, I'll stop jogging. Now do you see that rock climbing wall? Yeah, that's real lava, you're not hallucinating. And the walls are crashing together. We don't usually have many deaths, only maybe one or two a year. Not many fatalities since we need as many campers as we can get.
To your left is Mess Hall, where we eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. It never rains here, thank the Gods, so we eat with an open roof. Okay, we're going to go off the trail and cut to the left. Just watch out for the rattlesnakes. We've already had six campers bitten.
To your right is the arena, where we practice swordfighting, knife fighting, spear fighting, that kind of stuff. Yes, we use real swords. Stop freaking out. Now this shed is the armory, where we supply weapons to everybody. I can give you a peek, but you look pale enough already. On your left is the forge, where Hephaestus campers or any other skilled demigods make weapons for everybody. See that guy touching the fire? He's Leo, a fire user. That means he can touch fire without burning to ashes. Poor guy, he can't get a girlfriend.
Okay, those are our Pegusas stables. Yes, those horses have wings. They're pegasi. Duh. Anyway, Butch is our best pegasus rider, so he gives lessons to everybody. Yes, he has a rainbow tattoo. But if you make fun of him he'll turn your hair pink for a month.
Now these strawberry fields are our pride and joy, where our income comes from. Ever heard of Delphi Strawberry Service? You have? Well, that's us. See that satyr over their with the reed pipes? He's driving away bugs from eating these strawberries. The Demeter children are in charge of them since Mr. D and his son Pollux left Camp Half-Blood.
We are about to enter the most dangerous part of camp: the woods. There are all sorts of monsters here, so be careful. Okay, that's Zeus's Fist. Well fine. That's what used to be Zeus's Fist. It got destroyed in the Battle of the Labyrinth. Now notice that cave with the curtains? That's Rachel's home. It may look shabby on the outside, but inside there is Cable TV, a giant King sized bed, and this whole thing where you can slide from the top of the cave onto a room filled with pillows. Gift from Apollo, you know. Stop gaping, you look like a goldfish.
The creek over there is Zephyros Creek. It has a sad history, including a child of the South Wind dying on that spot and other things that you may not want to know about. On this happy note, let's go to to Fireworks Beach. This beach is where we have our annual New Years fireworks and July Fourth ones. You can swim in the shallow parts of the water, but beware the places where the water is over your head. There might be baby sea serpents, and those things bite hard. I'm talking from experience, so I should know.
Now that we've finished the tour, I'll give you directions back to New York City. Follow Farm Road, go left, and keep driving until you're on First Street. Got it? Good. I hope you enjoyed the tour.
