Chapter 18

Meanwhile in the Dreamscape, a certain guardian angel was setting up another table and tea set. He conjures up a peaceful scenary of clear skies, as well as bits of trees and greenary to brighten things up. Afterwards, the pale-eyed male creates two chairs, placing them on different sides of the table.
"Hmm, seems comfortable enough!" Collin says, smiling at his work.
If he's being honest, clear skies and greenary have always felt peaceful to him, so that's why he conjures it most often rather than other scenes.
"Hope he likes herbal tea." The pale-eyed male wonders to himself, sitting down and pouring himself a hot cup.
He drinks from his cup, waiting patiently for his guest to arrive. Thankfully, he doesn't have to wait too long.

"Well, this is certainly a lovely set up." A new voice calls out, walking over to Collin.
He looks over and smiles. "Well, unlike my imposter, I know how to greet a guest."
The pale-eyed boy gestures over to the empty chair next to him. "Take a seat, Curaxu."
The godling smiles back, sitting down on the other chair. "Thanks for having me over, I don't really go out much."
Collin laughs a little at that. "I can tell. Must be hard being a god."
"Not really a god, considering I work in a pretty reserved universe, but yeah. It is." Curaxu watches as the younger male pours a cup of tea in his cup.
"Tea? Man, you really do remind me of Hollow." He says, chuckling lightly as he takes a swig of the hot beverage.
"And you remind me of Grayson." Collin replies back.

After a couple more minutes of idle chatter and drinking tea, Curaxu puts his now-empty cup down.
As Collin pours him another cup, the godling rests his head on his hand. "While this is nice Collin, I doubt you used your limited time and strength to have me over for a date."
"Oh trust me, if this were a date, I would've put more effort into it." The pale-eyes male responds, grinning as he pushes the cup back to Curaxu.
The two laugh at their comments, finding the idea of dating at a time like this absurd and silly. Soon, the laughther died down into giggles as Collin decides to continue their conversation.

He takes a sip from his cup, setting it down gently as he looks down on it. "I'd like to know something that could assist me. Anything about your bet with Him."
The godling raises an eyebrow, placing his own cup back atop its' saucer. "You.. You heard about that?"
Collin laughs bluntly, eyes hinting with some sadness. "It has something to do with Drake and his friends being in danger. Of course I'd hear about it."
He picks his head back up, waiting for a response from his guest.

Curaxu sighs sadly. "I wish I could help you, but one of our rules is that I can't reveal anything to whoever's involved."
Before Collin could reply that he wasn't involved, not technically anyways, he also adds: "And that includes you, Collin."
The pale-eyed male groans in frustration. Of course it wouldn't be so easy to ask for important information and of course He had to make it difficult to try in the first place.
"Are you sure there's nothing you can just say? Surely not everything is confidential." He asks again, but the godling shakes his head.
"Nope! There's pretty much zero things I can tell you."

"No offense, but this is bullshit!" Collin exclaims.
Curaxu whistles. "Wow, looks like the angel can speak profanity."
The pale-eyed male rolls his eyes. "Everyone speaks profanely, but that's besides the point!"
The godling huffs a little, looking back at him.
"Look, I know about as much as you about Him. We both know he'd undoubtly cross his fingers against me and break certain rules, but he doesn't have anyone he might lose in this bet if he does so." Curaxu combs his hand through his hair, explaining to his host as clearly as he can.

"If I break the rules, the bet gets called off. Then, he could do as he pleases with the Crew, and he could do the same to your group. God knows the terrible things he could do."

Curaxu lets Collin take in this bit of info, he watches as the younger male takes a final swig from his tea cup. The godling does the same, though his tea is cold. A moment of silent drinking passes between the two, before Collin finally speaks again.
"I.. I understand."
He takes in a deep breath, exhaling slowly. "I'm sorry for trying to rush things. I'm just.."
The pale-eyed male looks back up to his guest. The eyes that held sadness now held a bit of understanding, though the godling can tell it pains the younger that he couldn't do much for his friends.
"I'm worried, that's all. Worried about the bet, the journey, their well-being."

Curaxu smiles softly. "It's no trouble, Collin. I get where you're coming from."
He leaves his empty cup to the side, having finished his tea. "If i'm being honest, this whole thing worries me as well."
"This outing's the most comfortable thing that's happened since I made that bet." He adds, happy that comment made the younger male smile.
"I'm glad to hear that, I tried my best to suit it to your liking." Collin replies, pushing his cup away as well.

After a few more light conversations, their meeting soon draws to a close.
Curaxu stands up, stretching a little bit then pushing his chair in. "This was a lovely time to spend my afternoon, thanks for this."
Collin gets up and dusts himself, pushing his chair in as well. "It was my pleasure having you here."

The godling glances over at him, thinking for a moment. He seems to hesitate, but he waves his hand and suddenly a brown journal is in his palm.
The younger boy watches in confusion as he scribbles something down quickly in his notebook before tearing it out and folding it. Then, he quickly hands the folded paper over to him.

"When this whole thing blows over, you so owe me that date." Curaxu exclaims, winking playfully as he walks over a certain distance to open a portal.
Collin's cheeks tint pink, still confused as ever. He looks down at the note handed to him, and in big letters the front spelled out "CLUE". Placing two and two together, he realizes that this is just what he's been asking for the whole time.
The guardian angel looks back up at the godling, who had opened his portal but stayed for a response, grinning widely. "Well, you'll have to wait for that to happen, so just keep dreaming Curaxu!"
He laughs, happy with his response. "I'll be waiting then!"

And with that, the godling makes his exit, leaving a pretty happy angel who can't wait to speak with Drake in his dreams.
