Arc 1: Middle School Woes Chapter 1: Invitation

Hello, Kittens!

Life fuckin sucks right now, I'm not gonna go into it atm.

Anyway, I promised you guys a rewrite of this fic so here is the first chapter!

There are some major changes I've made to this fic, mainly the ship is no longer what it was before.

I'm sorry to all of you who wanted that, but I just couldn't figure out a way to make it work smoothly.

I'll probably try again in the future with that ship, but for now there is no set ship in this.

Enjoy the story ♡

Tick

Tick

Tick

The sound of the clock that hangs above the classroom door sounded. Its repetitive sound annoying to most, but to Izuku it sounded like bells tolling before an execution.

He could feel the eyes on him, the stares if his classmates buring into the back of his gakuren. Those who couldn't look at him normally were now turned back to look at him, to snicker and jeer.

"Midoriya we've told you this before," The green haired boy's Teacher scolded, rubbing his temples as if he had a continuous migraine that wouldn't leave him be, "You can't become a hero. No hero school is going to accept you, Shirikomizu was the last school that would even offer to train a quirkless student in heroics and they put the same rule in place that-"

"The same rule that allows people to be quirkist under the guise of 'protecting the weaker members of society', yeah I know.." Izuku spat bitterly, "And for the last time Midoriya is not my name. My name is Akatani."

His teacher narrowed his eyes at the young freckled male, "Disrespect me again and you'll have three weeks detention, Midoriya."

The sound of snickering and whispered jeers reverberated throughout the classroom. They were interrupted by the sound of the final bell letting out a familiar ear piercing sound.

Before anyone could fully react Izuku had already swiftly made his way to the door, gaudy yellow backpack strapped on snugly around his shoulders.

《○°•●•°○》

Izuku entered the small appartment he shares with his Father. Toeing off his bright red sneakers and setting his backpack down next to it.

Normaly he would take his backpack to his room with him to get started on the homework that was assigned, but it was a day before the weekend and Izuku's teacher was feeling 'generous', not to him, but to the other kids that 'deserved a break'.

As the green haired boy made his way farther into the apartment a small nagging thought entered his mind, 'I forgot to check the mail, ugh..'

He sighed and made his way out to the P.O. box outside the appartment door, forgoing his shoes as he passed them and the forgotten backpack.

Opening the P.O. box Izuku was met with a small package that lay among the rest of the mail.

'Its probably a prototype from one of Dad's business partners.' The greenette thought absentmindedly, as he gathered everything and brought it back inside.

《~•¤•~》

Izuku stretched, a satisfying pop from his back, and a tired sigh escaping his lips as he glanced at the time on his computer, '8:47... Dad will be home soon.' A small smile graced his features at the thought.

Izuku loves his Dad, even if their relationship was a bit rocky in the beginning when Izuku moved in with him.

The freckled boy shook his head attempting to stop that train of thought right then and their. If he kept thinking about it he would end up thinking about-

"Izuku, I'm home!" The greenette heard his Dad shout from the front door. He quickly made his way out of his room and over to where his Dad was looking through the mail.

"Hey, how was work?" Izuku asked sitting across from the man that looked almost like an adult version of himself.

Hisashi looked up from the envelope he was reading, "Stressful." He sighed, "Endeavour came in today demanding we make him a new hero suit as well as one for one of his kid, apperently they got accepted into Shiketsu through recommendations."

Izuku grimaced, knowing how much his dad hates working with heroes like that. Entitled, aggressive, and use whatever status they have to try and intimidate him.

It never works though, Its hard to intimidate someone who was a top fifteen hero at one point.

"That sucks, I'm sorry you had to deal with that." Izuku said sympathetically.

Hisashi chuckled and shook his head, "Yeah, all I ended up doing was tuning him out, I'm pretty sure Hatsume did the same."

Izuku grinned at that, "How is Auntie Hatsume? I haven't talked to her in, what, six months?"

"She's doing well. She just got back to the agency today, she won't tell anyone why she was gone for so long, but we all know better than to question her. The black haired male said while going back to the letters.

Quirking an eyebrow and glancing back up at his son, who was playing on his phone, "Two of these are for you." He said, sliding both a letter and the small box from earlier towards the greenette.

Izuku looked at the box confusedly, it wasn't uncommon for him to get the occasional letter, but a package? Thar was odd, especially because he hadn't ordered anything and his Dad would rather make gifts himself than buy them.

Izuku grabbed the letter first, not trusting the box, one of his class mates might be trying to pull a prank on him or something.

Ripping it open and pulling out what was inside. He skimmed over the letter growing mor confused by the second, "What the.."

"What does it say?" Hisashi asked curiously.

"Izuku Akatani-Midoriya, You have been formally invited to attend Ultra Academy High school. We have reviewed your attendance, grades, and quirk file and feel you would be a perfect fit to attend our school." Izuku read out.

He continued, "U.A. High is a school privately funded and taught by Pro heroes, as well as partnered with I-Island's support department. The goal of our acadamy is to create the best underdog heroes out of anyone who passes through."

"If you haven't already please open the package that arrived with this letter and review the contents. Signed Principal Nezu." He said dazed.

Both father and son sat in stunned silence for a moment, not believing what just happened.

Izuku reached for the package and opened it, noticing a small disk in the center of the box.

"What is this?" He asked hypothetically.

Hisashi took it from the freckled boy and observed it fir a moment, "A hologram projector." He said placing the disk on the table, before pressing a button.

A blue light emitted from the disk for a moment, but quickly settled into the shape of a mouse, cat, bear, thing?

"Hello, young Akatani." The hologram said, "I am principal Nezu, the lead staff member of U.A. High. I, as well as the rest of the staff here, have formally invited you to attend our Acadamy."

"I am sorry that we cannot give you more information than what was in the letter you received along with this disk, but this school is to be kept as secretive as possible." He continued, "Should you choose to accept or deny please select one of the options here."

As he finished two boxes appeared in his place, one saying accept, the other deny.

"If you choose to accept you will be living on U.A.'s campus for the next three years until the end of your high school career." Nezu's voice sounded, "If you choose to deny the staff of U.A. Will never contact you again, we also ask you to keep quiet about our Acadamy if you choose this option."

Without missing a beat, Izuku's impulsive nature took hold and he pressed accept, not fully knowing what he just signed himself up for.
