Entry 2

Guys, let's talk.

This may not be news to anyone in the kpop world but I'm going to address for the ladies and gentlemen in the back because why not.

So we Koreaboos and EXOLs all know that our boi Chen is currently engaged to his non famous girlfriend who's expecting a child in a few months, right? I like many people was ecstatic and happy for the chap that he's finally doing something for himself and going to spend the rest of his life with the person he loves. Something I look forward to for my favourite kpop groups (I'm looking at you BTS, Got7 and Monsta X).

But what REALLY surprised me was the Korean EXOLs getting pissed to the point they sent a petition requesting they have Chen removed from EXO just because of he's finally going to settle down and start a family like any normal human being.

Dafuq 😐.

Are y'all serious? This guy trusted us to open up about this to us before media outlets like Dispatch leaked it to the public hoping we'll continue to support him like we've always done and we repay him with this shit? Demanding he leaves EXO just because he's engaged and expecting a child?

Did ya'll expect him to choose his career and fans over his baby mama? We should be grateful and giving him props for manning up and taking responsibility for her and his child because y'all would have been mad at him for being selfish if he didn't.

It's been preached over and over again countless times. Kpop idols are not ours to have. They're not our property. We need to break away from this delusion that just because they dedicate most of their time and lives to fame they can't date or even be in relationships because underneath all that fame and fortune they're still people and they have lives outside of fame. We need to bear in mind that at one point in their lives these idols are going to fall in love, date, marry/get married and start their own families. Look at Taeyang from Big Bang and Bi Rain, they're married and they're still doing their thing.

Do not consider yourself an EXOL or part of any kpop fandom if you're going to get made at your favourite idol dating someone they truly desire to be with. We don't choose who they life and we have no right to control how they should live their lives. We can daydream about being their girlfriends/boyfriends or SHIP them with their bandmates  or other idols (heck, I don't know how many times I've daydreamed about dating Jackson Wang and Mark Tuan or even any of the others member of Got7 and BTS and I have A LOT Got7 and BTS fanfiction in my wattpad library) We have to bear in mind that there's going to be a time when these homies are going find someone they love and it's our job as the fans to support them. Not dictate their decisions.

It's 2020. We don't want a repeat of what happened to Wonho and Woojin happen to Chen please.

But Chang,  shouldn't Chen say something about this?

He doesn't have to nor does he need to explain or even apologise for doing something for himself. And I don't think he should worry about what a bunch of delusional children have to say about it either. He's got a baby mama who makes him happy and fatherhood to look forward to as well as the international EXOLs to back him up. The company haven't responded to the Korean EXOLs petitions so we should be fine.
