Chapter 20
Nico's POV
*a week or two later*
I had an uneasy feeling when I woke this morning. Something wasn't quite right. That's when I heard the rain pouring outside. It never rains.. The magic border keeps the weather nice in camp unless we feel like changing it up. But a thunderstorm? I change into some jeans and a t-shirt then grabbing my sword and hoodie, slipping it on and about to go outside. Before actually getting to the door, it slams open, Jason storming in. I yelp in surprise, backing up a little before he sends small shock through me and I felt paralyzed.
"J-Jason..." I say hesitantly.
"Revoked praetorship. Made a fool of. Hated. Teased. Yelled at. Scolded." Jason growls. "All because you had to go whine to Travis and Connor."
"You're the idiots who overreacted!" I argue. "Saying all that bullshit to us cause I said I didn't want to do it again!"
"We could've made it work!" Jason yells.
"Yeah we could but I didn't want to! I was dumb and wasn't thinking!" I snap.
"You can't even give it a chance?!" Jason asks, and I could feel the electricity coursing through me.
"No I can't! I'm with two people I love and they love me back!" I yell.
The shocks got more intense and I could tell he was losing it. Gods I couldn't feel anything, it was all numb. If it got too extreme, which I hope it didn't, he could stop my fucking heart.
"J-Jason stop!" I plead, heart beating fast. "Why are you d-doing this?"
"I made a fool out of him." Jason laughs. "He's hated now. Him and that blasted son of Poseidon. I'll kill you and then him, it'll be a big fight."
"What the hell are you talking about?!" I cry out.
He looks at me, eyes flashing gold for a moment. That's when everything clicks. Eilodons. I thought we got rid of those things years ago. How could I be so stupid? They were so nice and excited about my relationship with Travis and Connor a month ago. It wouldn't be right at all for them to change that fast. How would I even think of them to go from supportive to murderous?
"Let him go." I say, shifting slightly with all the shocks going through me.
The thing just laughs again. "You figured it out. Congratulations. Sadly you won't live to tell anyone. No one in this mess will."
"I won't let that happen." I snap, but then cry out when he shocks me again.
"How cute. Your determination is as adorable and as weak as your body." The thing smirks. "It'll be a shame to blow it all up."
He walks over as I stood there, unable to do anything. He grabs my chin and tilts my head up, pressing his lips to mine.
"L-Leave me alone." I say, trying to move away.
"I'm not that bad, it was just a kiss. Is it so wrong to give you your little fantasy before death?" He asks.
"That's not even close to my fantasy.." I grumble.
"And what would it be then?"
"Seeing you back in Tartarus where you belong." I hiss.
He glares before kicking me aside, and I crumple to the floor, body numb. There was a roar of thunder before lightning sparked all around us.
"Goodbye, Nico Di Angelo." He said and I felt the final jolt, everything going black.
Travis' POV (cause I can)
A thunderstorm was one bad thing for today. I walk outside and instantly get drenched with a downpour of water.
"What the fuck..." I grumble, pulling my hood up which was useless at this point.
Did the gods just point at us and be like, 'we're gonna fuck with them today' and then zap? Like we never get storms this bad. I sigh and continue walking on before I hear a series of shouting. I jogged towards the noise and see Connor with... Percy. I growl before spotting the dagger at Connors neck and Chiron yelling at Percy to back down.
"Connor!" I yell, sprinting towards them but Chiron stops me.
"Good. I was waiting for you." Percy says.
"Travis you cannot listen to him, that isn't Percy." Chiron warns.
Connor looked to me, and I could see the shear terror in his eyes. He had his hands held behind his back and the knife at his neck. I cursed under my breath. That thing apparently isn't Percy so it probably won't care if it killed Connor. No reasoning with him then.
"Jason already handled Nico, since you seem so concerned about him." Percy smirks and just as he says it, I turn to the Hades cabin and see the lighting bolts strike down on it.
I couldn't even react. Wood pieces flew from the roof and the whole thing was ablaze despite the rain.
"Nico..." I gasp, tears falling down my face.
This wasn't true. This couldn't be happening. Chiron seemed in utter shock as well.
That's when I heard the click of a pen and see the blade go through Connors stomach.
"CONNOR!" I scream as he falls to the ground.
#CLIFFHANGER
Feels.
I mean it isn't really a cliffhanger but still.
