getting a jacket (Minseoks POV)
The teacher questioned Luhan what had happened to him when she entered the class but he gave her the same excuse he was giving everyone, that he got jumped yesterday on his way home from school. What a load of bull, I know what really happened to him!
I couldn't stop glancing at Luhan for the whole day, so many questions were buzzing in my head. Maybe I was wrong, maybe it really wasn't Luhan's dad who did this to him, maybe he really did get jumped. But if it wasn't Luhan's dad, or it wasn't people who jumped him, who could it be?
My head is going into too many different scenarios with what could actually be going on. I shouldn't worry about this too much. Like I said, I have to try and stop these feelings in me forming for Luhan. I can't worry about him because that'll make my feelings stronger.
I sat up in my desk and straightened my poster, taking deep breaths in and out. I have to clear my mind of Luhan, I have to get these feelings out of me before they take over my life.
The teacher was at the front of the classroom calling out names but I wasn't listening to her because I was too focused on my breathing. "Minseok and Luhan" I heard her call out and I came back to reality.
"Huh" I faintly say, looking around the room and everyone was mumbling to the people sitting beside them. What...what's going on?
"Minseok or Luhan please come and get your paper." The teacher says, holding out a white paper for either Luhan or I to take.
Luhan slightly groaned as he got up and walked to the teacher, taking the paper from her and sitting back down at his desk. I still don't know what this is, what is that paper? I'm so confused...what's going on?
"You all can start working now, I'll be at the front of the class if you have any questions" our teacher says before turning around and walking to a chair to sit down.
Luhan got up from his seat and walked up to my desk. He pulled out a chair from a desk closer to mine and brought it in front of my desk so he could sit across from me. "Wh...what are you doing?" I ask, looking at him confused.
"The project?" He says in a questioned tone, holding up the piece of paper he got from the teacher a second ago.
"Oh...sorry, I wasn't really paying attention. I didn't know what we were talking about." I admit, putting on an awkward smile.
"It's fine fatso, I don't mind doing the project if we split it into two sections. You do one half and I do the other, just so that I don't have to be seen hanging around you at the local library or something." Luhan explains, already scanning over the sheet to see what section he would take, and what sections he'd give for me to do.
I continued to stare at Luhan, every hair fell perfectly past his long eyelashes. His jawline wasn't rough but it was strong. His smooth pale skin looked like he was a model. On top of all that his pink, small lips that he would lick every minute or so just so that they didn't get dry would make my heart pound just a beat faster.
He quickly looked up at me from over the few hairs passing his eyes and asks "what, why're you staring at me?"
My eyes opened wider and I quickly looked down at the desk so I wasn't staring at him anymore. "N-Nothing, I was just lost in thought and didn't realise I was staring at your face I guess." I say in a lie.
"Whatever" Luhan lightly mumbles, looking back down at the sheet and started circling things again.
Baekhyun came up beside Luhan and wrapped his arm around him. When Baekhyun did that, I felt a turning feeling in my stomach...a feeling like I wanted to be able to do that to Luhan. I was...jealous.
"It looks like you hit the jackpot with this one Luhan. Working with tubbo here must be a blast." Baekhyun says in an obviously sarcastic tone.
"Oh I'm having a great time." Luhan responds back in an equally sarcastic tone.
"Hey, at least look at it this way: when you two meet up, you can ask him to bring you McDonald's every time since he's always there anyway." Baekhyun says and Luhan slightly nodded, agreeing with him.
I stuck out my bottom lip in a pouting way and turned my head the other direction so I didn't have to stare at them. It just made me mad they were making fun of me like this. Things like this actually want me to go to McDonald's and get something to fill me up.
"I can't wait to see what topic you two choose to do for your project, maybe obesity?" Baekhyun asks, glancing at me. I could tell he glanced at me cause I could see it from the corner of my eye.
"No, I'm just going to choose one of the random topics she gave us." Luhan answers, still looking down at the paper.
"Well, I'll see you later Luhan" Baekhyun says, patting Luhan on the shoulder. I then turned my head back to their direction and Baekhyun was staring at me with a smirk on his face. "See you later, fatty." He says before walking away.
I didn't say anything but silence was left between Luhan and I. I coughed a bit to get Luhan's attention but that didn't work so I just started talking in a quiet tone. "I...can't pick up your dad today." I say and Luhan looked up at me with a questioned, concerned expression on his face.
That face made me get flustered, I could already feel my cheeks starting to heat up. "What do you mean...why not?" Luhan asks in a concerned tone.
"I have to get a new jacket for winter." I say and Luhan chewed on his bottom lip.
"What about your jacket from last year? Can't you wear that one? I always reuse my jackets, I've been wearing the same jacket for the past two years." Luhan questions, I guess he really needed me to pick up his dad today...but I have priorities as well.
"It...doesn't fit me anymore." I admit, looking down at my desk again to hide my face.
"Doesn't fit you anymore?" Luhan repeats in a question like he didn't understand me the first time.
"You know what I mean Luhan. I'm not like you, I'm not skinny. My jacket doesn't do up anymore so I have to get a new one. Okay? Happy for the explanation?" I ask, looking back up at Luhan and getting annoyed.
Luhan looked at me for a second and his eyes went down. He's observing me, my stomach, everything. That's one thing you should never do to a bigger person, never look at their stomach when they're talking to you. Don't look at any parts of their body at all! Just look at their faces!
What is it with skinny people always staring at bigger peoples bodies like it's some sort of science project gone wrong.
"Yeah, so I can't pick up your dad today." I say out loud, trying to get Luhan to stop looking at my body without trying to sound rude.
Luhan then looked up at my face and nodded meaning okay. "Alright, you don't have to always pick him up if you're busy." He says and I nodded meaning okay.
For the whole period of us working together, Luhan and I didn't really talk to each other, other then when I told him I couldn't pick up his dad. He didn't say anything to me, and I didn't bother to say anything to him.
When he was being mean to me and said he didn't want to be seen with me at a public library or somewhere in public...was that him being serious or was it him saying something before thinking about it?
When the end of the day came I put my jacket on, swung my backpack over my back and started walking out of the classroom to leave school.
I made sure to walk fast out of the school so the same teacher from yesterday couldn't ask me to join the math team again.
I made it out safe and walked to the closest store where they sold jackets near my house. I went to the men's section and started browsing the jackets they had in the biggest size.
The biggest size they had was a bulky, black coat which didn't even look very comfortable. I tried putting it on but it didn't fit me. I tried sucking in (which didn't help much) and doing it up, but I felt the zipper would break or something. Oh well, it's better then having a jacket that doesn't zip up at all.
I took the jacket to the register and paid for it. It was a little over fifty dollars so I had to use some of my own money but it was fine.
I took the jacket and on the way home I really did stop at McDonald's to get something to eat. I'm pathetic, aren't I?
I went home, ate my food, watched some TV when I felt my phone buzz from beside me.
I picked up my phone to see it was obviously Luhan who messaged me. I opened the message he sent me to see he was asking where I was. I replied saying I was at home and he answered me not even a second later asking if he could come over.
Why does Luhan want to come to my house? I didn't ask him why because it would sound weird but I told him he could come.
I made sure to clean up everything before Luhan came, like the McDonald wrappers and tidying up the living room a bit as well.
When Luhan messaged me saying he was downstairs, I went downstairs to get him and he looked like he was even more beaten and bruised from this morning. My eyes shot open wide and I couldn't believe myself.
"C-Come in" I say in a stutter, walking into the building first to show him where to go.
When Luhan and I got to my house, I quickly went into the washroom to get a first aid kit and then brought it back to Luhan. "Luhan...are you okay...what happened? Didn't you have a football game today?" I question but Luhan shook his head meaning no.
"Coach told us today we're stopping football for now since it's getting colder and it's starting to snow." Luhan explains, sitting down on a chair at the dining room table.
I put the first aid kit beside us on the table and sat on a chair in front of him so I could observe his wounds. "Who did this to you?" I ask while observing a bad cut which ran across Luhan's forehead.
Luhan sighed deeply and answers "my dad."
