Breakfast (Minseoks POV)
I woke up with a headache like every other day. I would stay up every single night until maybe four in the morning watching videos online or just reading, which always hurt my head when I woke up from my minimum hours of sleep because I don't get enough of it.
I think I woke up at an alright time today because I could still hear my mom and dad getting ready for work, meaning they were still home.
I got out of my bedroom and went into the living room where my mom was making breakfast in the kitchen and my dad was trying to fix his tie for the suit he was wearing in a small mirror which was near the front door.
"Morning" I say in a small voice, walking up to my mom and standing beside her. Like expected no response, like I'm talking to a wall. I think she declared me as some sort of wall ever since she saw how fat I was compared to everyone else.
Well...she didn't treat me as a complete brick wall. She still made me meals and made sure I was doing well in school, but she wouldn't talk to me or even look at me. When she did look at me, it was always this look of disappointment with a frown on her face.
Same thing goes for my dad, they're both always looking at me with some sort of disappointment in their eyes.
I sat down at the table where my mom was eventually going to bring the breakfast to since she wasn't going to start a conversation with me. My dad walked into the room after perfecting his tie. "Morning" I say as he passed by me but like expected, no response.
I slumped over in my chair and just looked down at the empty table in front of me. I'm not close to my parents anyway so I don't care that they ignore me, but it'd be nice to have a response for once, instead of making me feel like I'm talking to myself. I think it'll make me go crazy!
My mom set down the plate of food in front of me for breakfast before walking away from the kitchen table and going into her bedroom to get ready for work.
My dad took his own plate of food and brought it to the living room so he could eat while sitting in front of the TV. So he doesn't even want to sit at the same table as me to eat either?
I looked down at the food in front of me and my stomach started to turn. I don't think I feel like eating anything after all.
I lightly pushed the plate of food away from myself and stood up from the table, walking back into my bedroom and getting ready for school.
I put my uniform on which was a bit tight around the waist, but it's not anything I couldn't handle. I then went into the washroom where I washed my face and brushed my teeth. After brushing my teeth I did my hair, trying to style it the best I could but I knew it would get ruined during the middle of the day.
I left the washroom after I was done fixing my hair and my mom was waiting outside the washroom, I guess for me to finish up. She couldn't even tell me to hurry up or anything.
When I passed by my bedroom once again, I grabbed my backpack and then went to the front door to put my shoes on.
"I'm leaving now" I call out before standing up and putting my hand on the doorknob to open the door, but no response. I then left the house and went to the elevator to get to the lobby since I live in an apartment.
I got into the elevator and pushed the button to the lobby floor since I live on the fifteenth floor. On the way down it stopped at the ninth floor where two woman got onto the elevator as well. They didn't look Korean, I was right when I heard them speaking. They're Chinese.
They started talking among each other in Chinese and I could kind of understand some of what they were saying since I study Chinese on my own time. I'm trying to learn Chinese and English, just so that I'm bilingual.
From what I understood, they were talking about me and were questioning why I was taking the elevator instead of taking the stairs. I wanted to reply to them, but I didn't want to look like I was eavesdropping on their conversation, or knew what they were saying because then they'd get embarrassed and it'd be awkward for the eight floors down.
I live on the fifteenth floor so of course I'm not going to take the stairs, on top of that I'd be way too sweaty and out of breath by the end of it that my hair would be ruined from how long I tried to style it to make it look decent. I'd also have sweat stains on my uniform which wouldn't be too appealing along with more teasing I could already see now if people saw sweat stains on my uniform.
Sometimes I think of myself as a fortune teller because I could tell what and what wouldn't get me teased and tormented at school.
When we got to the lobby floor I let the two woman get off the elevator first before I got off myself and left the apartment to walk to school.
I got to school and I felt something hit the back of my head which hurt a lot. My head thumped in pain and I brought one hand up to rub the part which got hit. I turned around and saw Luhan looking at me from a couple feet away, smirking.
Luhan continued to smirk as he walked away from me, disappearing into the crowd of everyone else trying to get to class.
I swallowed hard and bent down to pick up the hard book Luhan had threw at me. I opened it to see it wasn't an actual published book, it was a hard covered notebook with things written inside it. Like expected it was things like 'loser' or 'kill yourself' nothing new.
I turned around and headed the direction I was originally walking in and threw the notebook inside a garbage can on my way to class.
When I got into class, I sat down in my seat and pulled out the same book I was reading from yesterday. I was almost done reading it since I read a bit before I went to bed so I was close to the ending where the prince would meet the princess he was told to get and bring back to the village.
I was too absorbed into reading that I didn't notice that time flew by and the bell rang for class to start.
While the teacher walked into class and was doing attendance to see if everyone was here I felt the aching, turning feeling in my stomach. I knew I should have ate breakfast this morning, damn it. Please, for whatever reason please, please, please do not make noise!
I tried bringing both of my arms down and wrapping them around my stomach, but that didn't help much. I felt the hunger grow inside me and a loud grumble came from my stomach, I even felt it.
Almost everyone's heads turn to me and a couple of people started laughing. The teacher completely ignored it like nothing happened even though I knew she heard it as well. I could feel my cheeks heat up into a pinkish colour. This is way too embarrassing, I can die at any moment right now and I wouldn't care!
The teacher let us have time to work on a project she assigned us two days ago for History so the room was filled with chatter. Either people who were asking questions on what to do, or people just talking to their friends.
I was trying to do as much of the project I could right now so then I had time after school to do my own things like finish the other books I had to get around to reading. In the middle of writing the third sentence on the blank lined paper, a banana peel was thrown onto my desk, ruining my paper, making it dirty.
I looked up and saw it was Baekhyun who had thrown it. "Eat it since you're so hungry" I could see him mouth from across the room with his crew laughing behind him.
I glared at him and took the banana peel off of my desk, picking it up and bringing it to the garbage can to throw it out when the teacher called out to me.
I turned my head to see what she was calling me for and she was moving her hand inward, meaning I had to come to her.
I threw the banana peel in the garbage and walked over to her desk, confused on what she wanted to see me for. "You know there's no eating in class, right?" She asks while crossing her arms.
"Wh-what, no it wasn't me...someone threw the banana peel at me so I was throwing it out." I explain, trying to clear my name but she just sighed, I could tell she didn't believe me.
"There's no need to lie Minseok. I knew you were hungry in class, if you wanted to eat something you could have asked me and I would have let you leave the class so you could eat something in the hallway." She explains in a disappointed tone like I was the one in the wrong.
"I didn't eat the banana though, I told you someone threw the banana peel at me." I try explaining once again to get it through to her but she shook her head meaning no like she didn't want to hear anything else I had to say.
"I don't want to hear your excuses Minseok, go back to your seat and continue doing work." She explains, trying to shoo me away and I looked at her with disbelief before turning around and walking back to my desk.
I knew she didn't believe me because I'm the fat kid, but she could have at least tried to understand.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You can kind of now see how Xiumin's life is with his parents ignoring him and his teachers mistreating him because he's chubby. I think things will start getting more dramatic in either the chapter after the next or so on. Thank you for reading this by the way, I know it's a totally different style of what I usually write since the guys I write about are usually skinny, but it's something new to try out.
