As I ran, I came across a group of kids.

I was sitting in a tree. Then I heard voices. I shrunk back into the tree.

"Max, there's someone in the tree." I heard a voice say.

"Hey, come out. We're not going to hurt you." Said another voice, older than the first.

I sheepishly came out of my hiding spot. I saw three boys and three girls. The oldest in the group, 14. The youngest, 6.

"Are you okay?" Said the dog by one girl. "Why were you in that tree?"

"I ran away from my friends to protect them."

"Wait!" Said one girl. "You aren't startled by the talking dog?"

"No. So many weird things have happened in my life that I don't even pay attention anymore."

"Okay. So how are you protecting your friends?" Asked one boy.

"Someone wants to hurt me by hurting my friends. So if I can get that woman away from my friends, she could track me."

"That's ingenious. I'm Max by the way."

"Strawberry." I said. Don't blame me! I had strawberries on the mind.

"Hey!" Said the youngest. "How come I can't read your mind anymore?"

"Wait! You can read minds to? Maybe people with like powers can't use their powers on that person." I said.

Either that, or I developed a new power. I also thought.

"No, I used that power to know you were in that tree. It's like you shut your mind off to unwelcome visitors. I'm Angle."

New power it is.

"I'm Iggy. Do you have any powers that we should know about?"

"Are you blind?"

"Yeah. Why?"

"I'll be scooting closer to you. Don't freak."

"Okay." I scooted over to Iggy. "Hold still."

"Flower gleam and glow. Let your power shine. Save what has been lost. Bring back what once was mine." I sang as my hands and hair glowed. Max, Angle, and the others looked at me like I was some kind of freak.

I finished and Iggy sat up.

"Max, is that you?" Iggy asked.

"Iggy! You can see!" Max said, then looked at me. "What did you do?"

"What does it look like I did? I healed him. One of my many powers."

"Can you fly?" Asked one boy.

"Yeah. I'm part fairy, so that helps me a little bit." And just like that, I collapsed and fell asleep.

I woke up with a black blanket around my shoulders next to a fire. I looked up and saw that it wasn't a blanket, but big black wings with a boy connected to them.

"Oh, you're awake!" He said, moving his wings off of me. "Why did you pass out?"

"That's what I do when I heal. It drains my energy so I have to sleep to regain it. That make sense?"

"Yeah. I'm Fang by the way."

"Oh. Um, you guys have any powers I should know about?"

"Yeah. We can fly."

"So can I."

"I can understand...... wait! You aren't surprised?"

"No. As a girl who's part fairy, I'm not shocked."

"You're part fairy?"

"Yeah. I'm guessing you guys are part bird."

"Yeah. I have a feeling that there's more to you than what you think. I suggest that you start  a blog, like I did. It helps get things off your chest. You can borrow the laptop if you want."

"Thanks."

Fang handed me the laptop and put it on a blog website. I started writing.
