Don't throw tomatoes on me! I swear it's not my fault. I blame my college for that!
*tries to avoid some object thrown*
So no one ever told me that Engineering is tough. It is easier to laugh at Engineering memes but it's even tough to cope with all the subjects. Engineering Drawing and Graphics is taking away the crown for being the most irritating stuff. My second semester is going on and I really want to take out some time for writing here but it's really hard to keep up with Both. I salute people who are able to write and manage college level studies and job as well. Like literally.
Oh and I hate phonetics >.<
Also this book crossed 254k and I got 1.01k followers! Thank you so much for all your love and support ❤️.
Without you all,it wouldn't be possible!
And next time I will put up a picture here as I do in each chapter :)
The chapter is not that big to compensate but do go on feelings.
"Length pe nahi, Bhavna par concentrate kariye."
Lol.
Happy reading and do leave comments and vote!
Driving at insane speed,Nikhil managed to reach the mansion that he always despiced.
The mansion was the reminder of what he had to suffer.
He didn't think twice before opening the main entrance of the damaged mansion but he stopped at the gate.
It was unlocked.
The rain had started lashing mercilessly as he stood outside his old house.
Number of memories rushed back at him.
Happy times were rare, but more of bitter memories about his father.
He gulped before entering the mansion.
He looked around the house. Nothing had changed except the lock of his mother's room.
Damn it!
In his anger,he banged against the wall,to only injure his own hand.
He thought,"Great!Another injury".
His injury from fight wasn't even healed and here he had another one.
He had decided that now there was only one person who could reveal about his mother.
Mrs Malhotra.
He again raced back to the car and drove quickly to Malhotra mansion.
He ignored the salute of the guard and motioned him to open the gate but instead was met with a reply,"Mrs Malhotra is not here."
He groaned before again going back to his car.
His breath was uneven and he was close to tears.
The mystery was eating him up alive.
He heard his phone ring and he saw the caller Id.
Saira.
He didn't want to pick anyone's call and instead wanted to be alone. Still, mustering an inner conflict,he picked the call.
With a low voice,he spoke,"Hello?"
Saira seemed to contemplate before saying,"Are you okay?"
Her one question seemed to make him question himself.
He could have said fine, but even he knew,he would be lying to Saira.
So,he answered as he managed to whisper,"No."
She heard him sigh and spoke,"Nikhil?Where are you?"
He sniffed before saying,"Malhotra mansion."
She heard him before saying,"I am coming there. You stay there."
He cut the call and patiently waited.
He took out his wallet and stared at his mother's picture. It was a bit rustic but whatever.
It made him smile as he saw her smile with him and Diya. His fingers ran through the picture, remembering the happy times when they went together outside for dinner, or maybe to park. She sometimes even took them to meet her mother's...
Suddenly,his mind flashed.
Mrs Malhotra would be at the same place. Both sisters always found solace at that place.
Their mother's house.
He felt adrenaline through him,as he quickly opened his car and raced towards the area where his grandmother's house was located.
He heard some scream but his mind was solely concentrated at the place he had to be.
His heart raced as his mind rushed to different conclusions.
It took him an hour to reach before he stopped his car in front of small one storey house.
Outside, Mrs Malhotra's car was parked.
He was right.
Before he could grin,he felt a tight slap across his shoulder.
He winced loudly,"Ouch!"
He looked back to see fuming Saira.
Damn it! He forgot to inform her.
Saira gave him another slap at his arm before angrily muttering,"How dare you! Do you even have any idea at what speed you were driving?"
Nikhil gulped as he tried to answer.
But Saira threw a couple of papers, angrily and spoke,"Take these Challans! They fined me because I was your wife! Seriously,I haven't experienced any perks of being a famous wife but instead received challans."
Nikhil suddenly thought of his speed and offered with a sheepish smile,"Sorry?"
Saira rolled her eyes before looking back at the house.
She asked him,a bit surprised at the house,"Whose house it is?"
Nikhil stared back at the house before whispering,"My grandmother."
Saira looked back at him and nodded before saying,"I will wait for you in the car."
He nodded before moving back inside the house.
The door creaked open and he looked inside the house.
Nothing was changed.
Every hue and colour was same. He remembered his childhood.
He always liked entering this house as his mother showcased her mother's house.
He had never met her but he felt she must have been a nice lady.
He smiled at a bit when he came across the picture of his grandmother and her daughters.
Both the daughters were smiling as if they had no worries in their life.
Their mother looked at the camera smiling while her hands were on the shoulders of the young petite daughters.
There were hardly any identical features between both the sisters except their smiles.
It flew like the whole room was lit when they smiled.
"Beautiful picture,isn't it?"
He turned back to see Mrs Malhotra.
Of course she would be here. She was the sister of Anaika.
Nikhil didn't speak any words other than nodding. As he stared at the picture,he suddenly realised.
There was vast amount of difference between the woman in the picture and the woman in front of him.
If the lady in the picture was smiling, Mrs Malhotra had a blank expression.
He hardly remembered her smile other than smirking.
If the lady in the picture was epitome of kindness,Mrs Malhotra didn't seem to show any.
Her shyness had changed into being classy and more wicked.
He didn't know if he was the cause.
He spoke,"You changed."
Mrs Malhotra spoke,"I did."
He looked back at her and spoke,"Why did you marry my uncle?"
Mrs Malhotra looked at him, observed him silently.
She suddenly asked,"Why did you marry Saira?"
Nikhil didn't expect this question.
He spoke still,"Because I like her."
Mrs Malhotra laughed with humourless tone.
She mocked him before speaking,"You both had a deal. You saved her company. And inturn, she had to save you."
Nikhil didn't budge. Both of them knew the answer.
So, they married because there was a deal.
Nikhil in turned asked,"Why did you lie to me?"
Mrs Malhotra seemed unaffected as she asked,"Remind me, out of so many lies I have told you, which one are you talking about?"
Nikhil clenched his knuckles before wincing.
He spoke, a silent rage inside him,"Why did you lie that my mother was buried?"
It seemed Mrs Malhotra had the audacity to be surprised before a grim expression took over her.
She spoke,in a grave and sudden change in mood,"So you know?"
He nodded.
She stared at the picture this time.
She spoke,"I am Elena Fernandez. Or may I call myself Anika Malhotra. It doesn't matter. There are some things which I dare not reveal to anyone."
She looked back at him before saying,"Not even you."
Nikhil didn't dare say anything but he knew she wasn't going to reveal anything.
So,he spoke,"If someone had did all this to me and my sister, I would have destroyed that person. I wouldn't have spared you but you are my mother's beloved sister."
Mrs Malhotra turned to look at him. She had a grim expression as she spoke,"I would have destroyed you by this time, but I remind myself always that my sister would never be able to tolerate that I dare to destroy you."
Nikhil didn't say much but Mrs Malhotra spoke menacingly,"But don't worry. All my sister's culprit will get punished. Some have already paid their price and some will. And you?"
She walked forward, and spoke,"I will not destroy you.You will destroy yourself.Or maybe someone else will."
And her tone was promising enough for him to flinch.
