I wake up to beeping. It sounded like a monitor. I wiggles my fingers to find something plastic clamped onto my pointer finger. I slowly opened my eyes to the blurry white ceiling. I blinked a few times and tried to sit up but something pushed me back down. I looked up to see Brandon sitting next to me.

"Don't try to sit up," he said looking at me. I looked into his eyes in fear. I notice a patch of skin that is cut near his eyebrow and he has a cut lip. My eyes fill with tears.

"Hey, Ava, it's okay. Don't cry," he said smoothing my hair around my face.

"Please tel me I'm not paralyzed from the waist down," I say thinking of the worst possible scenario. I'll never be able to dance again.

"No, Ava, you're okay. You have a mild concussion, a fractured wrist and a few bruised ribs," he said touching my cheek. I look at my right and and see a wrap around my wrist along with a brace. I look up at him.

"What happened?" I asked softly.

"You crashed my car," he laughed. My eyes widened.

"Oh my god, you're car! Brandon! I'm so sorry," I say.

"Hey, hey it's okay, it's in the shop." He smiled. The he started laughing. "I can't believe you're more worried about the car than you. Don't do that ever again Ava." He smiled. I smiled as he put his hand around mine.

"How long have I been here?" I asked.

"A few days," he said. I look around and see flowers and balloons.

"Melody, Jessica, and Samara brought those in." I smiled and squeezed his hand.

"I'm going to go get the doctor," he said. I nodded.

When the doctor came in he told me about my injuries and that I will be needing a lot of rest to recover. My body is really sore from the impact of the other car hitting the car and my energy is drained. I will be able to leave the hospital in a few days.

After the doctor talks to me Brandon tells me he has to go to the police station because they arrested his father last night. I was grateful because it means they can get a lawyer now and get his dad away from his family. I end up taking a long nap and when I wake up I eat the gross hospital food while watching tv.

There is a knock on my door and I turn off the tv. The door opens and Pricilla walks in. I haven't seen her since Friday night.

"Hey," she says softly.

"Hi," I say back still frozen. She shuts the door.

"What are you doing here?" I asked as she sits in the chair Brandon has been sitting in.

"I came to talk and to see how you we're doing. Everyone has been really worried about you," she said. A beat of silence goes by.

"I'm sorry," she gets out. "Ava, I'm sorry about everything. I'm sorry for being a bitch. I'm sorry for not being sympathetic towards you and I'm sorry for yelling you at the party the other night," she said shaking her head. "I haven't realized how much of a horrible friend I have been." I nod.

"Pricilla, I forgive you. It's just that so much has changed and we aren't the same girls we were freshman year. I know I'm not." I said. She nods, understanding.

"My parents are getting a divorce," she said. "I found out last summer. I've been trying to bring them back together but I can't. They're unhappy and so am I." I reach for her hand.

"You should have told me."

"I know, and I'm sorry for that too. I'm also sorry that I've been a bitch towards Brandon and Jess." I nod and we stare at each other.

"You really like his don't you?" She asked. I nodded.

"I wouldn't have crashed his car for nothing if I didn't," I smiled. She laughed.

"I guess I was afraid that he might be replacing me," she said. I shook my head.

"Pricilla, no one is replacing you," I say. She nods as tears fill her eyes. "But eventually we have to go our own ways and meet new people and move on with our lives. Maybe this divorce is a good thing." She nods again as tears slip from her eyes. I give her a hug and she wipes her tears.

"Okay, enough crying, I want to hear all the juicy details about you and Brandon," she smiled and I laughed.

We talks for hours about everything. I told her all about Brandon and I's relationship and I also told her about dancing and my applications and the audition. She wants to go to college too and I said I would help her. She also informs me about prom coming up and we discuss graduation.

It was almost midnight when the door opened and Brandon's walked in. He looked very surprised to see Pricilla sitting in the chair talking with me.

"Hey," I said.

"Hi Brandon," Pricilla said standing up. "Ava and I were just talking about you," she smiled. Pricilla was actually being nice to Brandon. He nods still a little phased from the encounter.

"So did you guys make up?" He asked. We both nod and smile at each other.

"I should go, I'll see you soon?" She said walking towards the door. I nod. She looks at Brandon one last time and leaves. Brandon sighs.

"That was the weirdest...was she actually being nice to me?" He said scratching his head. I laugh and shrug my shoulders.

"How are you feeling?" He said sitting down.

"Fine," I said sitting up a little bit.

"You should get some sleep," he said. I nod and shift over to the other side. He smiles knowing I'm making room for him in the small hospital bed. He carefully wraps his arms around me and I lay my head on his chest as sleep consumes me.

A couple days later I am released from the hospital and Brandon drives me home in his other car. I stare out the window as the trees pass. My wrist is feeling a little better and my ribs are healing. My concussion is gone and all that is left are the few small cuts on my face.

When we get to my house Brandon helps me out and I walk by myself to the front door. As I unlock the front door I hear a bark. I whip my head towards Brandon who is smiling stupidly at me.

"Brandon why the hell is there are dog in my house?" I ask. He shrugs. I roll my eyes and slowly open the door.

When I am inside a rusty colored golden retriever runs towards me. My mouth drops. It's definitely not a puppy and it has a sign around its collar. It says Prom? I spin around and hug Brandon.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" I squeal. He laughs.

"So is that a yes?" He asks.

"Yes! It's a yes!" I yell. He smiles and kisses me on the cheek. I look at the dog and he comes towards me and I pet him.

"Where did you get him?" I asked.

"The shelter had him. I thought you might need some company in this lonely house of yours," he said crouching down. The dog licked my face and I laughed.

"What should I name him?"

"Anything you want," he smiled. He barked again and we laughed together.
