three weeks earlier...

i'd just gotten off the plane from los angeles when i got a phone call from my agent.

"hi, emily?" she whispered into the phone.

"yes, it's me. what's up?" i replied, confused.

"i've found you a role. it's wonderful. it's in new york, playing jenna hunterson in waitress the musical." she told me excitedly.

"wow, really? a musical? i mean, i'd have to talk to greg, marc, and andrew, but it sound's incredible!" i squealed.

just a few days later, i got a call from sara bareilles, who told me i got the part! i was off to new york city!

yesterday

i woke up in a hotel, somehow forgetting where i was. then suddenly it hit me. i was in new york city, rehearsing for waitress!

i got dressed and left the building, then waved down a taxi. i texted sara bareilles to let her know i was on the way.
