"I've finally found you Adrien" she held his face. This moment she had been anticipating for so long, was finally here. But, there was something off about Adrien. This was not the boy she knew.

His face remained still, the same monotone expression, no emotion in his face and completely voidless. What's going on?

"Tikki what's wro-" suddenly she fell to the floor coughing intensely, Adrien disappeared and her transformation faltered. She couldn't understand, all of this work and studying just for failure. But she wasn't giving up, she went back over to the grimwore and re-read the spells and potions. She already tried them all. Endless attempts

"Hey Dussu" he shuddered at her call "what am I doing wrong?" She pleaded for an answer.

It was against the rules itself for him to tell her. He could not allow her to disrupt the balance of time, for one selfish desire. So he remained silent.

"OH HONEY ARE YOU ALRIGHT?" Tom and Sabine burst through the trapdoor. Marinette quickly threw the book into her drawer

"yea, I think i may have little cold that's all" she threw in a few fake coughs.

The next day she copied down the notes from the white board. She was barely mentally present in class, the one thing that she had on her mind was trying to figure out why it was taking so long to bring Adrien back.

As the bell rang and the students walked out Mrs.Bustier called Marinette to her desk for a talk. She was concerned

"Marinette... I know Adriens death hurt you, and it's okay to feel emotions, all of us are still hurting and it's going to take time for us to heal. I understand you loved him, but you can't let that consume your life." she tied to get trough to her... of course she talked to her friends in school again but she was still distancing herself. "Please think about the future" She handed Marinette her report card for the first term.

All F's

Marinette's head hung low walking out of the classroom and her bangs covered her eyes. Everything was all of a sudden so difficult.

She paced back and forth during lunch time. Until she spotted her two very much in love best friends not so far away.

Nino and Alya were joking around with each-other, playfully pushing one another off of the benches and teasing eachother until he got down on one knee, and proposed with a candy ring pop. Nino knew those were her weakness. 

Something clicked, a memory. The day of the fight her Lucky Charm gifted her a ring, a steel ring.

It still had to be inside of her yo-yo. She snuck away to the bathroom making sure not to be noticed. "Tikki Spots on" she transformed into ladybug reaching inside of the yo-yo searching until her hand finally stumbled into it.

Then suddenly she was de transformed again, without saying the words. She slid down the stall clutching her side. It hurt...a lot, it felt like thousands of swords were consistently daggering her.

"Tikki- why is that happening????" She shouted out. I

"Marinette... the peacock miraculous... it's wounding you, you have to stop before it's too late"

Tikki's eyes saddened looking at her owner. She helped her up cautiously, checking to make sure no one was watching. "Tikki, I don't have time for a brake" Marinette grunted as she limped out of the stall. "I'm another step closer to bringing Adrien back .... I-... I cant stop now or all of this would be pointless"

She struggled back home across the street. Marinette swiftly passed her parents so they wouldn't notice she was home early.

When Marinette opened the trap door Plagg flew to help her up "WHAT HAPPEND??" Tikki furrowed her brows. He knew

Was happening.

Plagg gulped watching Marinette read another entry from the grimwire

"a sentimonster snapped from reality cannot be brought so easily. You must revive an important artifact that will be able to reverse the damage caused by one"

In this case it would be that ring her yo-yo gifted her

"Duusu spread my feathers" Her hair tied up into a loose bun to back of her head and her bangs lightly covered her face, the dress flared out with beautiful peacock themed layerings her top went around her neck like a elegant tie. She wore royal blue high heels and silky white gloves that held a peacock embroidery. The whites in her eyes turned blue and her lips sparkled

"Here" she pointed to the text in the book.

She placed one of the Amucks from her fan inside the ring giving it life.

There she was again, standing in-front of another re- creation of Adrien. She struggled standing up to examine his features

and still...this was not him

"you're free"

Marinette placed the ring in the center of his palm and closed his hands with hers.

"Who..? Who is Adrien?" the confused blonde stood gazing at the wall. She stepped to him placing one of her hands on his shoulder "You still.... don't remember me?" She locked her eyes with his.

He almost sunk into an endless lagoon struggling to escape .

But

"No" he gave her the ring back "I'm not who you're looking for, I hope you find him" he said glaring at the ring he gave back to her

Marinette took a deep breath

"that ring seems very precious, think about where else you've seen it"

she released him.

"Think about where I've seen it?"she twiddled it inbeteeen her fingers sitting on the bed "hey Tikki and Plagg, have you guys seen this ring anywhere else?" They nodded no. But now she noticed they had been rather cold toward her.

They barley spoke full sentences when she was around, or they never lingered  unless they were called

"what's wrong with you guys?"

"Marinette, you're not just hurting yourself each time you use that miraculous you're hurting Duusu! Look at her!" Tikki cried out pointing to the tired Kwami barley moving

"You're being selfish, I miss Adrien too but you're going to destroy everything trying to bring him back" Plagg finally stood up to her after these past few months

"We can-not support this Marinette, we never will" Tikki grabbed the miraculous from Marinette's ear "we can't stay here" Plagg did the same with the ring sitting above a box.

"W-w no YOU CAN'T LEAVE" she growled too weak to chase after them, she would have to wait to regain her strength.

"Duusu you- you understand me right" she sobbed into her pillow. "Nino misses his best friend, Alya misses him too, his mother? Emilie hasn't seen her son since the day she died"

The peacock comforted Marinette he understood, though the various years this was what her power was used for, after all.

"Marinette" she croaked out "you're going to suffer the same fate as Gabriel if you continue down this path"

Her body stiffened "I'll never be like him"

"Adriens mom..... Mrs.Agreste, that day" her memory flashed back to the ring, it was almost identical to the one the Lucky Charm gave her. That could only mean one thing. Emelie was the key. She needed that ring

"DUUSU WE HAVE TO GET TO LONDON! NOW!" she gave Duusu an special macaron transforming into her space form.

Marinette was going to find Emelie even if it killed her

"Hey guys I'm going to check on Marinette, she's always saying that she's fine, but we all know the truth" Alya shuddered at the thought. she noticed when Marinette left school yesterday without telling anyone but she wanted to give her space. She still seemed to be sad even after seeing Adrien's house about three months ago.

While Alya walked to Marinette's hosue she thought about that day, something had to have happened. Before that, Marinette was completely MIA and she barley left her room,but since then her excuses had gotten so much worse.

"Hi. Mr. Dupain and Mrs.Dupain Chang, would you guys mind if I talked to Marinette for a quick sec"

They pulled her over to the side so no one would hear them "yes Alya please, she won't even come out of her room and she's always so sick"

"We just want our little girl back" Tom and Sabine sulked away

Alya hastily ran to Marinette's room only to find it pitch black "Um, Marinette?" Alya called out wary of what was going on. Her back bumped against the pink desk, she turned to find only a book, an ancient looking book. She blew the dust off of the top to examine the strange symbol.

Strange?

Why was this same symbol on the miraculous box that Ladybug gave her?

She dropped the book to the ground. Finally comprehending what was going on,

Marinette was Ladybug

And Adrien was her Partner in crime

God she felt so stupid how could she not have realized this already?

She had to search for Marinette, before anything bad happened, what was she doing? She rushed out of the bakery straight to the hospital Nathalie stayed at. She had to know something, she was Mayura

"MS. SANCOEUR" Alya burst through the door huffing. Nathalie's hair was no longer black with pink and blue strands, all of her hair turned grey, she had wrinkles and barley looked alive.

Nathalie opened one eye at Alya's call. She crouched down to her side "I need you to tell me everything you know about the Miraculous, the entire world is in danger if ladybug succeeds with her mission, she and everyone else will die along with it"

"Where is she now" Nathalie asked, she was already dying, there was nothing else to lose

"I don't know, she wasn't at her home when I went"

"Marinette, she's in London" Alya fixed her glasses up on her face.

How did she-?

"There is nothing you can do at this moment, agh" she grunted holding her head "You'll never get to London in time, you'll know when the time is right, now, go home"

Alya left the hospital unclear of her next move, but one thing for certain, she could not do nothing. As she walked home she got the sincere feeling someone was trailing her down. She reached for a garbage lid ready to swing at her opponent.

but instead stood two glowing creatures.

One pinkish red and one black as night. She recognized them as Kwamis from her days as Rena Rouge.

"Alya we need you to be our hero, The grand master took back off of the other miraculous when Hawkmoth was defeated, so you'll have to be our ladybug until the help we called arrives" Tikki handed Alya the earring, hesitant at first, she accepted.

"Quick to London " Plagg directed her

She landed at the doorsteps of Amalie Graham De Vanily the identical twin sister of Emelie Agreste. She rested her feathers

She banged on the door until someone finally answered. There stood Emelie herself with the ring on her finger.

Emelie could barley recognize the girl as Marinette

Her eye bags showed, and she looked so weak, like she hadn't slept in days.

Emelie stepped aside letting Marinette in "um, Marinette what brings you all the way down here to London" she asked in discomfort

Marinette waisted no time in asking for what she needed

"I'm here for your ring, you used it for Adrien right?" She stood still at the door

Emile stopped walking and froze in her place. "That ring, is what tore my family apart" she kept her back turned looking at Marinette over one shoulder

"But- But I can bring him back, look, it's the Miraculous" she took the pin away from her collar showing it to her as she tried to lightly smile.

Shivers were sent down Emelies spine, history was repeating itself .

"No"

Marinette glared at her disgusted

"Spread my feathers" the costume buried her regular clothing as she took small steps toward Emilie.

"Your own son?" after all of this? How could Emelie be so selfish?

"Everything I'm doing is for him!" She created a monster with an amuck

A huge gargoyle pried the ring away throwing Emelie on the ground, leaving Amalie to help her sister up.

Marinette rushed along the roofs of London giving her as much space form the Graham De Vanily's as possible.

Inside of the Big Ben was where she rested and put the two rings together.

"Please work" she whispered out

The purple feather slowly clashed between the silver. A golden aura pure of light swarmed the area blinding her eyesight. A beam of light flashed in the middle of the night sky.

And when it finally faded... those green eyes, knew exactly who the eyes of the peacock's belonged to.

"A-Adrien" she cooed out, awaiting for him to make a move

"There you are sweetheart"
