"Oh. Em. Gee!" She screamed.
No. Just... please don't do this. You can say 'Oh my goodness' or 'Oh My God' or even 'omg' if your characters are texting. But please don't use 'oh em gee.' It makes your work look unprofessional.
Same goes for 'el oh el'
And 'el em ay oh'
And 'bee are bee'
Just looking at those spelled out acronyms turns me away from what could possibly be a very interesting story.
-------------------------
When a cliche is flipped and turned into another cliche. For example- good girl/bad boy becomes bad girl/good boy.
When authors include redundant scenes in their stories. For example- the girl brushing her teeth every morning.
When the book is 70+ chapters with no ending in sight. For some books, this is necessary. However, sometimes authors drag their stories out. For example- the main character is pushed off a cliff but there's still 20+ chapters remaining about the lives of her three best friends which has absolutely nothing to do with the actual plotline.
When the characters have no depth. I want to be able to connect to your characters.
When the characters are terribly naive or super whiny and annoying. Well written characters that have either of these traits are fine, but sometimes I'll learn that the main character of a book is 30 years old 20+ chapters into the story when I've been thinking the character is a 12 year old girl because of how naive she is.
