This all happened because of some videos I watched, such as South African accent vs. American accent. And it was hilarious. Because we as Southies can pick up on an accent pretty quickly, while (no offence) Americans just can't.

So I tried out a southern redneck accent, which was crazy cause I actually nailed it. I sounded like an American. It was funny. But then English class came, and Mrs Jordaan asks me to read a passage.

Everything went wrong.

I couldn't talk in my normal English accent anymore. I was STUCK with a thick American one. Everyone laughed. It was beyond the point of being hilarious. I tried and tried, but I swear I just couldn't lose the accent. I was pretty amused, but now I have a problem.

I can't talk in my usual accent anymore.
