Life has been crazy and I felt like suffocating and at last now I am here. I think you guys still remember the story.

Harini said that this story started from her and startled Sri who is trying to get the answers on this chapter.

Question for this chapter is, "After a break how do you start to write again? it is not easy."

43.If I had showed little more guts this story would have been upside down.

Sri couldn't control himself. He realized that Harini had gone out. So, he decided to catch up with her. He ran out to find her near the stairs. After crossing three storey, he found her and held her hands and pulled her into his room and closed the door. Harini stood near the table and held on to it while Sri was waiting carefully for her to explain.

But Sri was losing his patience which made him raise his voice, "Harini, you better explain on why you had to support a slu...a bad girl like Catherine because I deserve it. Addar deserves it?"

Harini who was determined to look at a portrait of a sun setting on the background of a peaceful lake turned her eyes to look into Sri's eyes. She said calmly, "Bad girl? Does Addar really deserve the truth?"

Sri desperately wanted to turn this conversation because it was testing his nerve but the same time he wanted Harini to accept the truth. He calmed himself and said, "What do you mean by that? He definitely deserves the truth, after all he has gone through. He was a pure guy who had to face all these. He deserves the best. He is a flawless guy."

Harini smiled softly at him, "Flawless? Who is flawless in this world? He knew Catherine for four years, he was the only friend or at least her best friend for years but it took him a single incident to judge her as bad. If this is not a flaw then what is it ?"

Sri was silent and he had no counter argument but he knew Addar was good. He didn't judge Sri which was the only counter argument he had but he didn't want to say that as it would portray Addar as a sexist. So, he was silent.

Harini who sat on the chair had her face on her hand while saying, "He never judges you but he judged Catherine that shows what he is. He has few traits of normal Indian. Not just Indian boy or Indian girl. For GOD'S SAKE, THIS IS HOW THIS WORLD IS! NOT JUST INDIA."

He knew it was true. He had always felt Harini as a childish one but he was seeing a new side of her which knows what to talk and what not to talk. He couldn't suppress the fact that Harini could have been a best lawyer.

Harini extracted her face from her palm and slammed her palm on the table which was a rare sight of her showing her anger, "If Taylor swift dates many guys randomly it is a big issue but if Leonardo de capri does the same, no one cares about it. No one blames a guy for cheating with a girl but accuses that the new girl took that boy from his old girl. This is how the world is."

Many people say that Indians judge but it is not just Indians but that is how the world is.

Sri took his last stand and said, "My case was different. But you don't know the things which she said. You don't have any idea about it."

Sri looked at Harini and was shocked to see her looking at him pathetically, "Even the best of the boys have this issue. No one is perfect."

Sri couldn't control his outburst, "YOU MEAN ADDAR IS NOT PERFECT. IF HE IS NOT THEN NO ONE IS PERFECT BUT HE IS PERFECT."

Harini stood slowly and came near him. She had her hands on his shoulder which he shrugged off but she said, "What makes him perfect or best? Because world says so. Can you say a perfect definition of truth?"

As Sri was not answering she answered her question herself, "Anything which is the complete opposite of what the world says is the truth. World always spreads lies while the truth hides deep below in ruins."

Sri was slowly cooling himself as it always happens, "See, Not every story is a lie. You can't say like that. Many stories which world said are the rocks upon which we have build our life. If you say they are all lies then...thought is itself scaring."

Harini smiled and said softly, "This is why many truths remain hidden in the ruins. This scary thought is what makes them hidden."

Sri had enough and he said loudly, "See just because you could say some philosophy doesn't mean they can be applied to Catherine and Addar. You have no idea about what she had said."

Harini who had enough shouted, "I KNOW MORE THAN YOU AND ANYONE ELSE. I HAPPEN TO STUDY ON THE SAME COLLEGE AT THAT TIME. I AM REASON FOR ALL THESE TOO. RAVICHANDRAN WANTED ME AND I REJECTED WHICH IS WHAT PAVED WAY FOR ALL THESE."

Sri couldn't believe what he just heard and his shocked face cooled Harini down too. She slumped on the chair and hid her face on her palm. Sri could see her shivering which showed that she was crying which was shocking for Sri too, as he had never seen her cry like this or any how. She was always the cool one who never cried.

She lifted her face to reveal her tear stained face which made Sri feel bad as she made her into this now which made him run to her and wrap an arm around her to hear her say, "I am the reason Sri. My existence is the reason for all these. After I rejected Ravichandran he wanted to have me. He tried to drug me and have me but a guy saved me. That was the biggest mistake he did as that made sure that he was an enemy of Ravichandran. That guy who saved me was Catherine's brother."

Sri could understand where this was going and it didn't make him feel good but he continued to listen to what Harini was saying, "That year Ravichandran found out about Catherine. He wanted to say to her brother that you saved a random girl's life but for that you had sacrificed your sister. He took her life away from her. He filmed her having sex with him and blackmailed her and her brother. Adam was furious but he was hopeless. He tortured her and Adam."

He held Harini tight against him, so that he could stop her shaking but it was no use as she was shaking a lot. She continued, "She was the sacrifice to save my life. That day on canteen she was blackmailed to say those words. She never meant them. She never did and never will."

She raised her face and snuggled on his neck while murmuring, "I tried to help her but Adam stopped me as he didn't want any further issues to me. Catherine believed a guy and sent messages to Addar but he was a cheat too so the message never reached Addar and Addar started to blame Catherine so Ravichandran took away her only friend or might have been her love and hurt Adam a lot."

She raised her face and looked at Sri, "Are you disgusted about me? I was a coward and a selfish disgusting girl. Everyone thinks I am the good one and Catherine is the bad one but I am the bad one who was selfish and gave up on people who were being tortured because of me. Again the world spread a lie and hid the truth and no one was willing to dig it."

Sri wiped her tears and assured her that she was not bad as she thinks but she wasn't agreeing. She continued, "I heard about what Catherine did to Addar and I knew the truth and also that she was cheated by her friend which meant she lost Addar. I was upset as if I had intervened and carried the news may be she would have had Addar all this time. I am the reason for all this. I was crying that evening thinking about it."

Sri who couldn't control himself asked, "That is when you met Addar right?" after seeing her nod he continued, "Did you know at that time that he was the Addar who was Catherine's friend?"

She quickly pulled away and held Sri's hand in a pleading manner and said, "I swear that I never knew! If I had ever known then I would have begged him but I never knew."

Sri held her hand and said, "It's okay. I understand." He held her tightly and kissed her cheeks and said, "So you didn't say about this to him?"

She said slowly, "Actually, I did but I didn't say about Catherine directly. I mentioned Adam's name and Catherine as Adam's sister. He knows what happened but thinks it happened to someone else."

Sri hugged her tightly and kissed her forehead and said, "You are not a coward. You did everything right. You are not the reason for all these."

Harini stood up and walked to the door and said before going out, "If I had showed little more guts this story would have been upside down. I am the reason for this mess and let me clean this mess."
